Title: Jaguars 2005 = Eagles 2002... sort of.
Post by: PoopyfaceMcGee on December 15, 2005, 02:34:44 PM
recent update on Leftwich (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2259832)

The defense has been carrying the team.  They're going to make the playoffs with a backup QB.  Leftwich may come back but not at 100%... etc etc.  The QB situation is oddly similar to the Eagles of 3 years ago.

Oh, and...
QuoteLeftwich underwent follow-up X-rays on Wednesday of his broken right ankle, sustained in a victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Nov. 27.

Freaky.

The fans in Jax hate Leftwich anyway.  They actually prefer Garrard if you can believe it.

...and you don't remember the people who wanted to put in Feeley when McNabb was playing?

They had a point.  McNabb was playing like shtein and deserved to get benched.  In fact, I wish "we" still had A.J.  How much better would the Eagles record be with him instead of McDetmer?

Feeley sucks.  He benefitted from a defense that could go out and win games.  The 2005 Eagles defense is not going that at all.  Not even a little bit.  Not once.

uh, probably no better considering the rash of injuries on the offense.

Mort (or maybe it was Clayton) said a ton of teams are high on Garrard and he might be moved in the offseason.

if Feeley could have generated a pass rush, then it would be debatable

Uh, no...there was no point. You don't bench your Pro-Bowl QB after one game into the season for a 3rd string QB. What farging planet are you people from to say that?

Oh, lets also not forget that Reid was in his 80-20 PASS ONLY offense in those first 2 games vs. Tampa and NE. At the time that was going on, I was RIPPING Reid for not running the ball and said it cost them those first 2 games.

It was as predictable of an offense as....well....THE FIRST HALF OF THIS YEAR!

the main difference is that the nfc sucked and the eagles should have made the superbowl...whereas jacksonville having their starter back at 100% makes no difference as they arent going anywhere in the afc

Wow, I'm impressed with your maturity.

Let's say you had to sit in front of a bunch of asshats like the ones we did (chanting "WE WANT JAY FEELY!") for 2 games straight. Methinks you'd feel the same way about your "fishing".

Yeah, I had that at the Patriots game that year.  I don't even think Feeley was eligible to play in that game, yet the morons around me continued to chant.

The worst part was they were calling him JAY FEELY. When I asked, ever so kindly, why they wanted the kicker of the (then) Falcons at QB for the Eagles...they didn't quite understand what I was talking about.

Must have been the "Who is Trent Cole?" crowd.

Not to mention that Leftwich is a black QB "sellout" who doesn't run the ball much.  :o

Now if Rush Limbaugh comes out of nowhere and trashes Leftwich, I'll piss my pants.

Not that I need Rush to do that kind of thing, but...  :paranoid

Have you not realised in your 4200 odd posts here that PG is the most humorless and hysterical fan on the whole board?

There are certainly many strong candidates for the award.
It was a difficulty choice to make.
