QuoteSecond-year guard Shawn Andrews is also moving into notorious territory.
Through 13 games, Andrews has been called for 11 penalties (nine accepted, two declined). That's the most by any one Eagles player in a season since cornerback Al Harris was called for 13 in 1999.
If Andrews passes Harris, he could go after the modern-day record for an Eagles player of 16 by another former No. 1 pick, Antone Davis in 1991.
from Eckels article today in Trenton Times
Don't worry Herremans will break that record some day.
Seems like Rod Hood has more than that.....especially on 3rd down...
where does Eckel find this stat anyway?
he pulled it slowly and painfully out of his anus.

As Mussa alluded to, he makes them up, just like most of his stories.

...along with Kevin Johnson.

u don't know that already? come on IGY, u've been here long enough.
I hate penalties.
Especially the ones that stop our drives.

Everyone's got their "thing" they cry about. To some, it's pointing out the spitefulness & inaccuracy of Eckel, to others, it's expressing their unnatural, blinding hatred towards Reid because he's not warm & fuzzy.

Or the ones that put you in jail because you thought she was 18.

Actually, I only hate penalties called against the Eagles. I'm all for penalties called against the other team. I remember a few years ago when it seemed the only way the Birds could get a first down is if the opposing defense was penalized. That was awesome football.
Pinkston is the man at drawing flags.
it's expressing their unnatural, blinding hatred towards Reid because he's not warm & fuzzy.
true....but you left out that he cant coach or draft
also the coach of the eagles should hold slighty more importance in our lives than a trenton times writer
Dennis Erickson can't coach. Matt Millen can't draft.
Even you know that saying Reid can't coach or draft is obvious hyperbole.
he absolutely CANNOT coach in the nfl
drafting...perhaps...hes had some success...but has failed more often than not

Hyperbole. Nothing more. Have you called in to WIP today?
Hyperbole. Nothing more
its only hyperbole in that he holds an actual nfl head coaching position...so i guess what youre saying is that you cannot take my statement literally...and i agree with that
AR can... prepare a team, draft effectively, game plan leading into a game, motivate, lead, assemble a team that wins and is greater than the sum of its parts.
AR cannot... make in-game adjustments, get it through his fat head that an offense needs to run the ball.
Does he need to improve to be a better/top/championship-caliber coach? Of course. Is it reasonable to say that he can't coach in this league? Of course not. He's won more games over the time he's been a head coach than any other coach in the league. To say he can't coach is farging retarded.
Did you hear that?? Farging retarded!!
OK, OK... I'll do it.
Preposterous!

Then how can you explain his remarkable run of success over his career as a head coach. Has any coach in the NFL, except Belichek, enjoyed more success over the last five years? Is he that good of a GM that his brilliance in assessing talent overshadows his thorough ineptness as a coach? Are you retarded? Can't you figure this out? There is alot more to coaching than calling plays.
HOORAH! Yet ANOTHER thread in which IGY slags off Andy and everyone else gets angry.
:cfhead :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead
Then how can you explain his remarkable run of success over his career as a head coach.
i cant...i can only say that he wins in spite of himself
maybe: good defense...good quarterback....bad conference and worse division
except for last year (see TO) the defense has carried the offense thruout this whole streak...and the first year that the defense slips guess what andy has... a terrible record...big plays at opportune times by a good quarterback has saved andy many a time espcially back when mcnabb actually ran the ball...how many games was his offense just brutal only to be kept in a game by the defense and bailed out by mcnabb
a bad conference with no really good teams has allowed five different teams to make the superbowl in five years...andy is only a few games over .500 against the afc...hes has stacked his win total against a pathetic division as well...what happens the second the division gets even a little bit better...birds go winless in it...youre not in kansas anymore dorothy with uncle spurrier uncle campo and uncle fassel
i dont know how you can watch andy and not think hes a terrible coach...the only defense to that is that he has a good record and thats all anyone can point to...but there has been many bad coaches in pro sports who won games
JJ has done a significantly worse job than Reid this year. With a relatively healthy set of personnel, his calls (especially on 3rd down) and his in-game "adjustments" have been horrendous. With a healthy offense and some new coaching and personnel on defense, Reid will *appear* to be able to coach again...
...because he can. Better than any other coach in the last half century of the Eagles. Better than 90%+ of the guys who have ever been a head coach in the NFL.

that should make you feel good...but not as good as the coke you sniffed before typing this...
Better than 90%+ of the guys who have ever been a head coach in the NFL.
Name a better coach since Greasy. Vermeil's team choked too, and probably should have made more than one. Buddy Ryan couldn't get an offense together to save his life (or win a playoff game).
The Eagles have had a lot of crappy coaches. You should be able to recognize that Andy Reid isn't one.
andy isnt better than vermeil...but if if you think so then whatever
but to say hes better than 90% of anyone whos EVER COACHED IN THE NFL is worthy of a banning
hes not even in the top 10% right now

This season, arguably, but not over the life of a career... and you have guys like Gibbs and Parcells (and Vermeil), who essentially have had two very different careers.
