Title: R-E-G-G-I-E!!
Post by: TempleOwl on November 21, 2005, 08:51:50 AM
Team Reggie, in truly believing, took Reggie to the fantasy team and got good results this week.  i know its only been a few games but I like what I see so far.  I hope he's the real deal and makes us forget T.O.

would've been nice if he could've made a play in the Cowboys game.

Reggie looked alright. He still has a few too many drops, but hopefully he can get that fixed the more balls he gets and the more snaps he plays.

The fact that he is actually producing as a rookie WR in Reids offense speaks for itself.

reggie brown is good karma.

from my memory...he is the first "Reggie" since reggie white. and over the offseason, reggie white and jerome brown, watching in football heaven, created Reggie Brown and delivered him to the eagles.

which is why reggie brown is good karma

It's already clear to that Reggie Brown is the best reciever Reid has ever drafted.  If he can stay healthy, so that he's on the field for the rest of this stillborn season, he'll be ready to make a serious impact next year.  I'm excited about him.

Since this season is in the dumper, I'm psyched that some of the young kids are getting a shot to show their stuff. Reggie looks like a player.

I'm trying hard to care about the rest of the season, and he's giving me a bit of a reason.  He's a keeper.  These days, and nice, quiet WR who can make plays sounds good.

He even kinda resembles Marvin Harrison in body type and when his face is in the helmet.

i was surprised yesterday by his confidence.  he seemed alot more comfortable on the field.  i think hes going to be a great receiver.

Reggie really is the best thing to come out of this whole TO thing.  Under the circumstances, AR is FORCED to play Reggie and he's getting invaulable experience this year while there's nothing on the line for the Eagles.  Had TO been here through the end of the year and then released, Reggie would have then been thrown into the starting lineup with next to no experience with the stakes much higher.  Next year, we can come back, reloaded... knowing exactly what we have in him.  A good young WR who can contribute and make plays... and who will shut the farg up while doing so.

I'm not sold on him becoming TO-like in terms of his play at WR, but I think he's going to be a good, steady receiver for us down the line.

Reggie Brown has more receptions, yards, TD's in 10 games than McMullen has in 2 1/2 seasons.  ha.

Wilbur is just not used correctly! Wilbur will be a force!

Seriously though...he made a great catch yesterday on that throw that was back to his right. And when he uses the correct technique he is a good blocker.

I am excited to see Reggie play though. Him and Trent Cole are exciting to watch develop.

Both Wilbur and Reggie have been pleasant surprises thus far.  Some people have mentioned the Dallas game in regards to Brown......I'm not sweating it.  Next week may not make many plays.  He's a rook and as such is probably going to be a little inconsistant.  But that's ok, I can live with that because like Feva said, the Eagles aren't playing for a SB this year.  So any mistakes he might make this year aren't likely going to cost the team.  But he will hopefully benefit and learn from them and not make the same mistakes next year when McNabb comes back and when JJ and the entire defense have their heads removed from their asses and are ready to contend for a championship.

I have to agree with you on Cole...   it has been fun watching him grow and get better as the weeks go past.

How long are Reggie and Trent Cole signed for?  Short term or long term?

Since Reggie was a 2nd round pick I would imagine that his current deal is somewhere in the 3 to 4 year range.  But depending on exactly how well he plays for the rest of the year, if he plays well, the FO just might give him a long term deal.

Or they might just do it even if he sucks just to spite TO.  That would drive him freaking nuts to watch the FO give a rookie a new contract after one year.  But it would be funny.  :D

Cole on the other hand I'm not sure about his contract.  ???

Reggie Brown = signed through 2009 ; received a 5-year $4.628M deal with a $1.8M signing bonus and a $581K option bonus

Trent Cole = signed through 2008 ; received a 4-year $1.563M deal with a $173K SB

I'm thinking of getting a scrap iron jersey. Wonder how long he'll stick with #58  :paranoid

Mark my words though.  Reggie will recieve a new deal this offseason through 2036 with a $30 million signing bonus.  And Lurie and Reid are going to hand write "Eat shtein TO!" on every single bill.

Now that's the kind of spiteful behavior I can get behind!

that might look good to some, but it looks like a PR nightmare in a couple years to me.  ;)

Reggie looked good against the Giants with the touch passes  - I'm just not sold on if he can hold the the McNabb heat seakers.
