Keys To Winning Today:
1. The Eagles must contain Tiki Barber. I know its a tough task, especially for the Eagles when it comes to Tiki because he kills the Birds. And the Birds run defense on the road has been terrible (168 ypg) compared to their home split (39.5ypg). If they can somehow slow Tiki down then that'll help the pass defense.
2. Mike McMahon has to be smart. None of the trying to force the ball when nothing is there. I do not care if he replicates a Mike Vick game plan today and runs it a ton as long as he keeps the chains moving.
3. If McMahon can break off a few big scrambles early that'll help open up Westbrook in the flats because most likely Antonio Pierce will be looking at McMahon long enough to give Westbrook a crack of daylight.
4. If Westbrook draws Nick Griesen or Carlos Emmons in coverage...big time advantage Westbrook.
5. Trent Cole and Jevon Kearse have to get pressure. Eli must be rattled. The Vikings got heat on Eli with their front 4 and that allowed them to play a lot of cover-2 which helped them force Manning into 4 INT's.
6. The Eagles running game has to get off to a good start. Jamaal Jackson was flat out moving people off the ball on Monday and the Giants are without William Joseph today. He must continue to do that. Keep that Westbrook/Gordon mix going.
And Lito cannot be stupid with Burress. If he toys with him and trys to do his stupid baiting, he's toast.
Agreed. No baiting, Lito.
Gotta keep Plax in front of him and use his ups and ball skills to play him smart. No dumbass penalties either.
I hope the Jints are willing to line up Plax a lot on the left of the offense because that is Sheldon's side. I feel better if Brown is on Plax.
I'd double him and let Dawk play Shockey. If Mike Lewis is on Shockey, then its advantage Jints unless his coverage got significantly better in 6 days.
You just have this feeling that Shockey and Dawk are gonna be in the end zone and have another one of those jump balls. Who wins the jump ball this year?
Today's Inactives
Donovan McNabb
Stephen Spach
Ryan Moats
Dexter Wynn
Calvin Armstrong
Todd Herremans
Matt McCoy
Keyonta Marshall
William Joseph
Will Peterson
Reggie Torbor
Shaun Williams
Rich Seubert
Willie Ponder (good for the Birds - he's a good KR)
Adrian Awasom
Jared Lorenzen (3rd QB)
Anyone know who the inactives are today? I'm at work and can't listen to my Field Pass.
Why is my boy Ryan Moats inactive again. Thought forsure he'd be out there today!
farging Moats.
McCoy and Moats were great picks. :P
Good luck, no injuries today!
Lets get going!
Great call on the time out. Nothing like burning one of your breaks within the first minute of play.

7. Pray.
So... how long before McMahon is injured and it's Koy time?
Question 2: how many hundreds of total yards will Barber have today?
McMahon to McMullen. What a fearsome combo!
John's getting killed out there!
The D is really fired up!
The O-lines pass protection looks like complete shtein.
Andy's already abandoned the run. :boo Why not use the Westbrook/Gordon 1-2 punch that worked so good last week?
It's also clearly evident that the Giants know when the screen is coming, so why not run it using Gordon.
Hodges is having a good day punting :paranoid
Looks like McMahon was attempting to throw it to Strahan. I thought we took the throw-it-directly-at-an-opposing-player-with-no-Eagle-around pass out of the playbook after last week. Luckily McMahon is not as accurate as McNabb.
Adams just made his best play this season
Brutal call on Lewis
That PI call was farging ridiculous.
Nice hit on Manning by Kearse :yay
Cole is still looking like a starter.
Trent Cole is a farging beast. :yay
Well, 0-0 is a better first quarter result than the Eagles usually have. I'll take it.
Overall, pretty good D by the Eagles. Can't do anything about that bogus PI call.

I thought the same thing. Shockey is so farging stupid that it's worth risking a flag to piss him off. Once his 'tude is juiced, he's worthless. Watch him draw a flag later in this game.

The D cannot win this game for the Eagles if they are on the field 80% of the game.
Thank God i'm forced to watch the Cowboys instead of this shtein!! :boom
Wow...this is a bad game. I'm an Eagles fan...but I'm also a football fan. This game is like watching paint dry.
Can we pick up Landeta already? Hodges sucks. His only decent punts have been either lucky bounces or ones he kicked off from the opposing 45 yard line.

FALL ON IT!
C'mon, Cole.
DAMN!! Almost! Kearse is having a monster game so far.
Stupid Lions D...c'mon.
Cole is never allowed to celebrate again. Ever.

That pass was catchable. He's had 2 or 3 drops already.
At least the defense can't catch either, so they're well balanced.

No f'n way.

:-D Reno even makes fair catches out of bounds.
Our O looks awful -- put neckbeard in
No, we're totally fine with Mike in there.
Go special teams! :boom
This game has everthing. If you like bad football games.
Wonderful -- just what we needed :boom
A goal line stand and/or turnover would be nice.
If it's any consolation, the Eagle season has been over for a week now anyway. All that's left to determine for the Birds is the draft order.
Defense is doing their best to stop Fatty McRunningback.
Suck. Suck, suck, suck.
I can't tell what's worse. The fact that the Eagles suck so badly or the fact that the NFC East leading Giants suck so badly two weeks in a row.
STOP THEM D!
Does Tiki have braces?
I love to see the goal line stand. Smashmouth football.

The Eagles are a poor football team.
Strahan's such a great player. Way to knock down a QB that isn't even facing you.
The refs have handed two huge breaks to New York. The horrible call on Lewis, and the no call for defensive holding just now. Lucky fargers.

Defense playing very well...gotta keep it up. Take the reins off McMahon a little bit and stretch the field. The screens and dinks ain't working because the Jints know they are going past 5-8 yards down field.
Well those longer passes are working out so well.

I think it's almost impossible for a team to get through that many plays in one game. The odds of them finding that one play that will work are very low.

This is why I don't get my hopes up anymore. Something like this happens.
This d-line is killing me as well. They can get tremendous pressure some of the time but they were virtually nonexistent on the PI call in the endzone.
M Lewis has been SOOO GOOD..until this year :puke :puke :puke
How can you expect the d-line to get pressure against backups? That's crazy talk.

Wait a minute, this isn't good. We need Mike to suck so I don't have to hear you retards talking about the retards calling WIP saying we need to get rid of McNabb.
people were talking about it on WIP earlier this week before he even played.
SONSABITCHES! :boom
Relax guy, we are just going to trade McMahon to the Dolphins for a 2nd rounder anyway.
McMahon can jump like a brother ;D ;D
Cortez nutted that one. :o
great tackling. :yay
Defense forgot how to tackle again. Super.
need a turnover
T.Peterson extra point is GOOD, Center-D.Rackley, Holder-M.Schaub. Touchback.
.
Sheldon on Burres. Nothing bad can happen there.
That's that. :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom
I hate my life.
You've got to be farging kidding me >:(
FARG :P :P :P :P
Nice play Sheldon. Since when is he slower than farging Burress?
That is going to hurt his pro bowl aspirations.
Sheldon giving a little tip of the hat to his fallen comrade Lito.
Brown should have known to get between plex and goal line...plex was ahead of him and he bit on inside move :boom :boom
Come on Mike. I want to see the Westy wheel route. Thats normally a quick hitter for 6.
if they got that motherfargin touchdown on the goal line the first time, all they need is a TD here.
The Eagles D always seems to always keep them in the game only to spectacularly fail at the end.
I wouldn't hurry to the line either. Five minutes is all the time in the world.
reggie "week 10 MVP" brown.
i made that nickname up. its funny cause he dropped 3 passes last week, and he dropped one just now.
QB draws=NCAA. not NFL.
Great clock management here :boo
Better go for it on 4th here.
Give it to Lamar. He can bust it up the gut.
they wont make it.
Time to go to the supermarket.
I think Reggie was suprised he got it in there.
McMahon has played well this second half. Unfortunately our D broke one too many times.
Yeah well. Ball game over. Tough. 4 game skid. I didn't think I would be hearing that anytime soon.
Catchable ball..lewis dropped it :boom
seriously, this sucks. you cant farging enjoy watching them anymore.
Funny, I thought it would be an inept offense that doomed the Eagles if they lost today, not an inept defense.
Yeah it's always been a big let down. Last 4 games have been extremely hard on my emotional health. All lost at the end of the game.
I don't think WESTisGOD is laughing now that Tiki got hurt.
No miracle punt return this time.
Eagles D just doesn't show up at critical times :boom :boom :boom :boom
Wow. This team is just flat out bad.
RE: Sheppard's broken ankle. As the sponsor of Lito Sheppard I would like to point out that Lito's been metaphorically getting his ankles broken by receivers all year long. The fact that one of them finally gave out should come as no surprise.
I would also like to announce at this time that I am the official sponsor for the IR.
Quick TD -- onsides kick. There's hope
I guess

Yes but it counts as an internship so if I ever want to be a Dr then I'm getting this part out of the way early. Now there's just the whole college/med school thing to take care of. No worries.

You should also sponsor clock management. I don't feel like that is getting addressed enough.
Two minutes, no timeouts, ten points. This is gonna be the best game ever!

I don't want any part of that train wreck.
Does anybody on this offense run when lining up?
I would like to say 64's score prediction wasuch closer than my 41-17 Gints

Don't worry. With no timeouts left the Eagles will undoubtedly use it all before giving it back to the Giants.
Anyone here a big flush sound just now?
holy shtein, reggie can jump.
Game over
Did Akers get his new deal yet?
Akers misses too. :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom
When it rains, it pours!
OMG HIGH DRAFT PICK EYSS WWOWROWROWOTT GO HIGHD RAFT PICK BUST YAAYYAAYAY GET MATT LIONHEARRTTTT
Goddamn.
Great kick, Akers.
And a BIG shout out to Sheldon Brown for giving up a motherfargin 61 yard TD. Way to jump the route. Who are you, Lito!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Just because you're on Lito's side doesn't mean you jump routes with no safety help behind you and while covering Burress.
Way to go, defense you lousy fargs.
Well that game was craptacular. McMahon had almost 300 yards passing today. :-\
4-6
OH YA...our QB can jump higher than there's :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Which is going to make this week even worse, beucase that's all we'll hear aobut.
McMahon looked pretty good in the 2nd half but I'm convinced that even if he played a complete game the defense still would have found a way to lose it.

30 of 74 for 300 :-D
We should hear about how the defense couldn't stop them when they needed to.
And how the PI calls were a joke.
And how Mike Lewis' coverage eats ass.
And how Sheldon Brown gave up a 61 yard TD in crunch time.
It bears repeating...
Quote from: QB Eagles on November 20, 2005, 02:30:48 PM
The Eagles are a poor football team.
The Eagles have the same record as the Browns and Lions.
We'd lose to the Browns right now.
Cole and Kearse had a total of 5 sacks today. Good thing they were non-existent on the rest of the plays.
Is someone gonna start a 'Post Game thread'? Or do we just post all of our complaints in the 'Seasons Over' thread?
We want the first pick...We want the first pick...We want the first pick ;D

I'm still waiting for the official Post Season thread.
The Eagles won't get an early pick. They'll be in that crappy middle region full of teams who neither made the playoffs nor did poorly enough to improve their team greatly in the draft.

Might wanna find something else to keep you busy between now and Jan 2007.
We don't really need a lot of improvement, just a healthy McNabb, a safety, and a cornerback. That's enough to get us back to "let's see which young guy steps up and puts us over the top."

Someone who knows how to block runs would be nice too.
Maybe we can get a telethon to buy AZT for the Eagles organization :D
Well McMahon and the offense weren't very good at all in the first half. And the special teams mistake, the awful pass interference call and the blown fumble call cost the Eagles 10 points. But McMahon and the offense still got the Eagles back in the game. But once again the defense came up small and kept giving back all the points and more so.
With the defense and special teams play of the past few years the Eagles would have won the past three games and they'd be in first place by themselves. But with the way those units are playing they need the offense to win games and that's just not going to happen very often without TO and a healthy McNabb.
I just don't get this defense. They're jekyl and hyde in just about every game. It seems like they always have one very good half and then a poor half.

The run game is there, the line just needs to be more consistent.
What a bad day...I keep calling "Drug Hotline" tell um what I want and when I ask if they have home delivery they hang up :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom :boom
100 yard game for TIki- check
100 yard game for Burress - check
3 TD's for Eli - check
multiple choke jobs - check
This defense sucks ass. they suck more than ass. they suck taint. flog them all.
This defense sucks things even Chuggie would turn his nose at.

We NEED the AZT Eagles Telethon :boom
The defense cannot make big plays when need be. They fold late in games and have consistently been burned. This game is definitely on the defense. They need to be reevaluated for next year.
I just don't get how they can't finish games. They played a fabulous first half and when the offense finally started to click in the 2nd they decided to play scared, not get pressure, and not be able to stay with WR's. Friggin' sucks.
