This weekend starts the second McMahon era in Philadelphia. Remember the last?
"1991: The Eagles season starts on a painful note as QB Randall Cunningham suffers a knee injury that ends his season in a 20-3 win season opening over the Packers in Green Bay. However the Eagles would not be doomed as back up Jim McMahon came in and played well as the Eagles got off to a 3-1 start. However, the injury bug would bite McMahon too and while he missed 4 games the Eagles went winless. McMahon would return and the Eagles would win 7 of their last 8. However, in a competitive year for the NFC the Eagles 10-6 record is not good enough for a playoff spot." from http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nfl/philly/eagles.html
Wonder if Mike will borrow a Dawkins eyeshield and a throwback jersey for the game? ;)
If the Eagles had any semblance of a running game in 1991, they would have won the Super Bowl.
That defense was incredible.
Too bad the one they have now sucks ass.

Same could be said about the 92 team. Had they gotten passed the Cowboys in the 2nd round I think they would have had a good chance to win it all. Then again, knowing the Eagles they would have wound up being the one team that lost to Buffalo in the SB.
eagles suck
Ice grilling me?! Ice grilling you!

That's what I'm talking about! Up top baby!
Who could forget that incredible game, where they said he couldn't even raise his arm to comb his hair before the game, at Cleveland, where they were behind 23-0 in the first qtr and he led them back to a win over a Bill Belicheck-coached Browns team?
Well Mike likes to wear the glove on the left hand too....
And if you squint really hard the 4 starts to look like a 9 as well...

Also remember some horrible losses at Tampa Bay and at home against New Orleans. Kotite was such a wuss and played so conservative - with absolutely no running game and Brad Goebel at QB after McMahon went down and the Pat Ryan experiment failed.
That defense was frightening.
I thought McMahon was the best Eagles player on the field Sunday other than Kearse and Cole. It is a lot to ask a backup QB to play on the road against a defense playing as well as the Giants have been. He needed to get the rust off in the first half and that was expected. What I didnt expect was for him to play that well afterwards. Interesting short term stat: 38% of McMahons completions have been for 20+ yards this year as opposed to 13% of McNabbs. Id like to see how that stat goes the rest of the season.
McMahon did alot more than i expected him to do. Too bad the running game couldn't get rolling. And to bad our defense sucked.
