Trent Cole is the man.

Trent Cole is the man.
The best positive to come out of that game.
it's impressive to see a DE that actually has an inside rush move.
he looked real good. it was against a rookie LT but he stepped up and beat his man. his strength and moves will only improve.
Torrin Tucker IS NOT a rookie. I believe he was with the Cowboys last season. I thought Jamaal Jackson at center played well.
I thought Parry had some nice lead blocks too.

Jackson was very good. Jon Runyan needs to stop giving away stupid penalties.
runyan did some stupid shtein but who knows if its because of jackson or not. runyan is a solid vet, there has to be a reason.
ND Kawho, wow thats clever.

Yes. He was getting a nice push. Big improvement in the run game.
the entire line in general run-blocked well. you could tell they worked on it (for once) this week during practice.
Trent Cole looked very good.
The OL minus Fraley moved folks around. Jackson was good too.
I thought Parry actually did a decent job as a receiver this week.
FYI: Jim Johnson made it official that Cole is getting the start on Sunday.
trent cole: future nfl sack leader
I just hope he continually baits Petitgout into false starts and blatant holding in addition to decking Eli at least once.
not that i wouldnt rather this game be for first place but its going to be somewhat of a relief to be able to watch and concentrate on players like trent cole instead of nervously pacing back n forth before every single play...im really excited to see him play
this will be the first game in a long time ill actually sit down during
Jackson will be the shtein if we can get him to actually let go of the ball when he snaps it. ;D
One big thing I do like about Cole...
He's got an inside burst so he can bait the LT several times by going outside and then bust him up inside and kill the QB.

it's funny but i was thinking the exact same thing. i'm usually so emotionally involved in the game that i don't get to truly enjoy the game, but the rest of this season is going to be very different. my blood pressure may come back to normal afterall.
Ha! N.D. Ka-who? Ha! I get it.

Word life, Wigga.
damn that headline is clever
I don't think that it's technically a headline. Or clever.
Just think, if he was a good DE Spadaro would have us believe that calling the defensive line N D's Kohorts would be a good idea.
Trent Cole could be a diamond in the rough. He does have a great inside burst and he is pretty relentless.
Quote"In the first half, I had the most one-on-one blocking I've seen all year," said Kearse, who now has seven sacks. "In the second half, I rarely saw one-on-one blocking."
In last week's 21-20 loss to Dallas, Cole had a strong game when he recorded two sacks. His emergence has taken some pressure off Kearse.
"I think I saw more one-on-one blocking in the first half because of Trent," Kearse said.
The 6-foot3, 260-pound Cole was relatively unheralded as a fifth-round draft choice out of the University of Cincinnati. But Kearse doesn't feel his bookend teammate will perform in anonymity too much longer.
"I'm not surprised at how Trent has played," Kearse said. "He just didn't have the opportunities, and now that he is getting the chance, he is making the most of those opportunities."
Defensive tackle Hollis Thomas went one step further in assessing Cole's development.
"Trent has come on these last few games and has turned out to be a great player," Thomas said.
Cole, who now has five sacks, earned his second consecutive multisack game. It also was the third straight game in which he has recorded a sack. Kearse, meanwhile, has enjoyed 14 multisack performances, including the postseason. His most recent multisack game was last year, when he recorded two sacks in a 15-10 win over Baltimore.
Like the 6-4, 265-pound Kearse, Cole doesn't have the bulk of many defensive ends, but both display a quick first step.
"I keep learning, taking notes, and learn as the plays unfold," Cole said. "It's all a learning process for me."
And one that appears to be accelerating as his playing time increases.

Cole needs to start the rest of the season and get alot of the growing pains out of the way and be ready to be the full-time starter next year

Exactly. I say we treat him just like Reggie Brown... let him start now, gain valuable experience while there's really nothing on the line... and then he's ready to contribute right from the start as the Eagles reload for next year.
and like that, Kearse is tied for 6th in the NFL for sacks along with players like Dwight Freeney. :o

Yeah, but Freeney got his sacks because he plays next to a stud like Simon. Can't forget that. ;)
The Cole-Kearse combo yesterday was good to watch.
And the people who wrote Jevon off earlier should finally realize that in order to be successful you have to have some help. Now that Cole is a force on the opposite side teams cannot double, triple or double & chip Kearse. If they do then Cole will clean up.

McDougle
Rookie
Rookie/low price vet
Next year will be a good DE rotation.
Assuming McDougle doesn't MacGuyver his way onto the IR list next year.
He should stay in Philly again this off-season. Maybe he can take Reno's host job at C&P's to help fight off boredom during the spring. Hell, Reno won't need it.
Reno's going to leave here and get a superbowl ring with another team some day.
Yeah...as a mascot.
Yeah I like the DE rotation next year if McDougle can get healthy and they can get someone else in there who can produce and be good against the run.

Do they give SB rings to stadium employees? Like the fry cooks and shtein?

The rings get increasingly smaller the lower down the food chain you go.

I guess he'll be getting one of those plastic ones with the free sticker from a vending machine then.
Yep, but it'll come out of his paycheck.
Well he can always sell it on eBay in a few years for a considerable markup. Just wait till the next natural disaster occurs.

I found this rather amusing.
Why do we think McDougle is good again?
Have we seen any evidence, or is just that one hammering of Eliza?
McDougle has some talent and should therefore at least be a passable DE in terms of depth. Assuming he ever sees a football field again. I don't think anyone is expecting much more from him at this point.
