As the leader of Team Patterson, I would like to address the fact that Mike's play really has leveled off in recent weeks. We have no excuse, but you can be damned well sure that Mike will be dangerous for opposing offenses once he gets his 2nd wind. That could come as early as this week. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, we invite you to peruse some Q&A (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/homeNewsDetail.jsp?id=39085) with big Mike.
Thanks for your support.
Get a sack, hippy.
he hit the rookie wall that i predicted on this very board he would...which was one of my reasons as to why they were idiots for letting simon walk

every rookie hits a wall. you're like a altzheimer's inflicted kreskin.
every rookie hits a wall
not true at all...but with him being undersized i knew he definitely would
and if it was so obvious that he would why did andy let simon walk when he knew hed need him at some point in the season
farg that fat piece of shtein simon...colts can have his overweightass
Simon still doesn't have a sack this season.
because there were 3 other DTs that were huge and out of shape that could actually have an impact. (walker, hollis, rayburn)

Because as we've seen, Simon won't be worth a damn for another month.
Thanks for the update. I look forward to seeing an improvement in Patterson's play. He has shown excellent stuff at times so far; there is no reason to believe he won't become a force at the apex of the Eagles' defense.
thanks for the update
hopefully he adjusts. teams are starting to key on him since there's not a whole lot else to worry about in the front seven. if he does adjust.. i hope he teaches the rest of the team how to do it..

ha
NO!!!
Where was Patterson last night?
he didn't even start, even though they started with Walker at DE.
Patterson hasn't made the adjustments he's going to need to make to compete at a high level in this league. I feel confident he's talented enough to get to that point, but he's certainly not there yet.
According to this article (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/homeNewsDetail.jsp?id=40175), Patterson has 35 tackles. Whaaaa????
he needs to bang the weights HARD this offseason
Quote from: FFatPatt on November 23, 2005, 09:08:16 AMWhaaaa????
According to NFL.com, he's got 19 solo tackles, one assist, 2 sacks, and one forced fumble. PE.com is flat-out making shtein up.

Yep. Exactly my point.
I'm going to send Calvin Armstrong over there to set things straight.
tackles are an official/unofficial NFL stat. there is no guidelines on keeping it, so every team has a different judgement on what makes a tackle a knotch on the stat sheet.
basically dont look at the eagles site for one player, then on espn for another to compare. ever.
My boy had the only sack of Brett Favre yesterday. Choke on it, haters.
I hafta admit that was a sweet sack, too. Favvvrah tried to fake Patterson out twice and he wouldn't bite.
Mike had a good game yesterday. He had a few nice stops vs. the run too.

When I watched that play I was thinking that, if St. Brett had time to pump fake TWICE, he had time to get rid of the ball.
Way to go, Patterson, for sticking with the play. :yay
Why did you stop with the Patterson v. Simon comparison in your sig, FF?

Because it's time to move on from Corey Simon. Those who think the Eagles made a big mistake lifting the tag refuse to be convinced by the fact that he has zero sacks and are instead pointing to his team's record.

Trot, Freak, & Cole surely can be ignored. ::) ::)
Corey Simon is still searching for his 1st sack of the season. But he's totally the reason his team's 11-0.
Just ask John Clayton.

Did anyone hear last night where they were talking about Simon losing weight next year?
He's already lost weight this year. But not, I missed that comment. Why do you ask?
I'm sceptical considering his past two offseason weight gains. I guess he is no longer an Eagle, so not worthy of discussion here.
The irony is that no one deserves to be discussed here, Eagle or not. How degrading.
mike patterson update: kid will be on WIP shortly
Mike Mayock said that on the coaches tape it showed him having both knees down :paranoid

So? That doesn't matter unless one of the 9ers not only saw him with the ball but also touched him as down to end the play. Since no one knew what the hell was happening he got up (once one of the Eagles got off his back, forget who it was) and rumbled down the field. Just being on his knees doesn't mean a thing.

but no one touched him, so it doesnt matter.
his upperbody was laying across a 49 with his knees on the ground, either way no camera angles other than the Coaches film showed it. I was just relaying what Mayock said, Mayock works for NFL films and covers the college players for nfltotal access and for the combine. I loved the patterson play, I enjoyed it more than Chris Berman.
I don't care if he was technically down, but I doubt he was. With Vernon Davis being injured on the play, the 49ers had plenty of time and plenty of reason to challenge the call.
The play was reviewed

That doesn't matter. He has to be clearly touched (hand to body contact) by a 49er to be downed. Just lying on the guy doesn't qualify. Otherwise they would have blown the play dead. He wasn't downed by the player he was lying on.
There was no way they could have overturned that call. There was no camera angle available to the refs that had Patterson clearly in the shot to tell if he was down or not. It would have been the same thing if they called the play dead once he grabbed the ball. There was no good angle to overturn it either way.
Who cares?
seriously
