We have played the entire AFC west, the toughest division in football, and come out with 3 wins.
Our little whore friends in the NFC east:
Giants: Lost to San Diego, Beat the Broncos, still have to play Chiefs and Raiders
taterskins: Lost to Broncos, Lost to Chiefs, still have to play Chargers and Raiders
Dallas: Beat Chargers, Lost to Raiders, still have to play Chiefs and Broncos
My predictions:
Eagles will have the best or tied for the best record against the AFC west in our division this year.
We will win the division.
Look at the rest of the schedules for the NFC East and tell me it won't happen.
We have had a fairly ruthless schedule, but it is smooth sailing from here. We will win 10 games, win the east and then..... lose in the first round of the playoffs, but that's not what I am concerned with here dammit!
i think this is a 10-6 team at best right now, and that is because of the defense losing all ability to even show up in the 1st quarter/half of games.
the next 3 games is the most important stretch of the season, by far. three divisional games, if they win going into next week, and then come back from this mini road trip 1-1 with the loss being vs the AFC. they are still in decent shape.
the only good thing about the timing of this is that no one is running away with the NFC right now. hope isnt lost. it's just misplaced.
I never ever thought that beating the taterskins in the 8th game of the year would be so important.

Take a look at that schedule again. The Eagles have had one home game a six week stretch that includes Washington coming up. Honestly, there should be some drunk people calling up talk radio to complain about that, then going on about how Buddy Ryan would never allow it.

i was just looking at the consecutive road games. hadnt looked at it that closely.
good point meth :yay
I see the homers are still homering. I guess that answers that question.
Phanatic and I were talking about this exact same thing last night while drowning our sorrows with quite a few 12-ounce cure-alls.
No way Skins, Boys, and Giants all get a 3-1 record against the AFC West. Maybe one of them will, but likely 2-2 or even 1-3 is a better bet.
That part of the schedule is over, and the next three games make or break the season. If we (hope, hope, pray, hope, pray) the Eagles walk out of that stretch at 3-0, the Eagles look very good in the division. 2-1 is passable. But, it's time to focus on those three games as if your NFL life depended on them. Because it kinda does.....

Are you kidding. This is 100% why we all make fun of taterskins fans year after year after year. Blind optimism in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Give me a break.

Your ('re) right. At 4-3 the Eagles are the worst team in football and have no shot at the playoffs. This season is over.

We have different definitions of optimism, I think.

Give me a break. That's not what I'm saying and you know it. Christ. Say anything negative about a team that, quite frankly, looks like shtein and all of your panty wipes get your stockings in a bunch. "OH NO! RJS is criticizing the Eagles! I'd better attack him mericlessly until I feel better about the fact that my team has sucked ass more often than not this year."
Give me a break.
You're a retard. Also, a blind homer. We should burn you.

Ha Ha, you typing Gimme Me a Break makes you akin to Nell Carter.
I'm not happy with the Eagles' play, but I still believe it's possible for them to go 13-3. Possible.

If you look at the Schedule, I think 6-3 is very realistic.
That would be 4-2 NFC east record and one random loss.
Eagles squeak on top, Giants fall to earth a little as they must, Dall and Skins mediocre it in.
Please, please quote this thread on January 1st, around 8:30 p.m EST and if I am wrong, I will gladly give you an internet blowjob. And I will cup the nuts.
I think 6-3 the rest of the way is realistic too. 10-6 isn't even remotely close to my expectations for this team and I will be STUNNED if we win the division at 10-6. This team, on the road, in the playoffs doesn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies.
Barf.

You forgot to cry about how you're being attacked for sharing your opinion.
the standard for this team is winning the Super Bowl, that's it. no one cares about the division, getting into the playoffs, or even making the Super Bowl.
that's how you have to judge this team at this point. so, to be an optimist means you think this team can still win the Super Bowl, and I just don't see it. no one is saying they are a terrible team, they don't suck. but right now, with Donovan's injuries, AR's playcalling and general game management, and the defense; I don't see anyway for anybody to think they can win the Super Bowl, and that's the only standard to judge them by.

I know you're hilarious, and all, but this is just silly. The lack of realism here regarding this team is startling.

and yet Atlanta who won nothing last year has the easiest of all schedules in the NFC including 3 home MNF games. Go Figure, think the jerks in the NFL FO want them to succeed?
Well, they've always wanted a black quarterback to be successful ...

Silly people, the Falcons don't even have a quarterback.

You are probably in the best division in football. KC was an impressive win but you got lucky that Janikowski took some of that date rape drug before the game and missed chippies he doesnt normally miss and that San Diegos special teams had a brain cramp and let you steal a win there. You have played one game in division and gotten your asses handed to you. The Giants are no pushover and the Skins matchup well vs you guys. You go best case split the division you still have to beat Seattle and St. Louis to get to ten wins. This is considering you take out Green Bay and Arizona which is expected. Without a running game, its an uphill climb. After next week, you could be the worst team in the division. Who wudda thunk it?

Hey skinsguy, you will fail to make the playoffs this year.
It's going to happen and you know it. Have fun looking for a new qb, again, next year.

Well, here's an alert I'm sure you didn't know about:
Skins--Cornelius Griffin (hip), Joe Saalavea (ankle), and Philip Daniels are ALL INJURED. Two backup on the DL that were deactivated last week ARE INJURED. That's why the Skins were trying to play a 3-4 against the Giants--they have more healthy LBs than DL.
Cowboys--just lost Al Singleton for the rest of the year. That's their second LB to go down as Nguyen has been injured as well. Julius Jones isn't fully recovered (and taking verbal heat for the second year in a row from Parcells) from a high ankle sprain.
Giants--they've been impressive in their 5 home wins--not so impressive in their two road losses. The Giants history over the last 5 seasons has been to lose games that they were meant to win. A couple of examples--2002, they lose to the Texans on the road and the Titans at home; last season, they lost to the Bears at home and the Cards on the road.
Come back and take a better accounting at the end of November--better yet, after Christmas--when the Boys, Skins, and Giants ALL have to play 3 of their last 5 on the road. The Cowboys, in a little bonus, now have to play all of their divisional rivals on the road.

Yeah, and we made fun of the taterskins offense when Spurrier was the coach and refused to protect his QB. Funny how things have a way of coming back on you.
