Title: Around The NFL--Week 8
Post by: MDS on October 30, 2005, 12:34:26 PM
Free time during the early games, nice scheduling to give us skins/gints at the same time.

Probably the SNF crew will be breaking their all-time verbal blowjob record with Tedy Bruschi tonight. I am really looking foward to that. It's tough to break the record of Mike Vick from the game two year ago when he was coming back from an injury, did nothing, but the Falcons won the game with an interception return in OT. Yea, that was the worst. Well, tonight it gets broken. Until next week when Theisman blows a load on air while watching the Skins.

Oakland tried to blow a 17-0 lead in the first half but they got the refs help.

Pacman Jones had just taken a punt 82 yards for a TD to make it 18-17. They called a BS penalty nullifying the TD and putting TEN at their own 9 yard line.

Then McNair gets sacked and fumbles...TD Raiders. 24-12 instead of it being a TEN lead.

If they finish #1 I bet they regret drafting Aaron Rodgers since Leinart would be there for them.

Although they'd probably draft Bush since Green will be gone (and he sucks).

Maybe the Eagles will finish high enough to get Kiwanuka from BC. :D

If the Packers want a QB then they should take Vince Young. He's not the most accurate passer, but he has a strong upper body and has potential to be accurate. IMO he'll turn into a better version of Culpepper. He'll be Culpepper with better scrambling ability and without the fumbles.

Upcoming schedule changes:

11/13 -- Washington/Tampa Bay moved to 4:15 to replace GB/ATL for the national game

11/20 -- Pittsburgh/Baltimore moved to 1:00, and Indianapolis/Cincinnati moved to 4:15 to replace NYJ/DEN for the national game

brad johnson is the new qb for minny. ouch.

He has himself a Super Bowl ring.  That's more than Culpepper (or McNabb, for that matter) can say.

Great, that's gonna screw me out of getting the Eagles/Gints game. Although if the Eagles get their ass beat by She-li maybe that's a good thing.

Hines Ward just made a nice catch, and was hit well out of bounds.  The flag was thrown.  On his way back to the field of play, Ward got an enthusiastic low-five from one of the guys who hold the sticks.

WTF?

Roethisberger punts the ball, pinning the Jam31s to the one.  They give it to Inmate 31, who struggles for nearly ten yards, and promptly gives away the fumble.  How satisfing, even if the fix is in.

This game is farged up.  Ravens were in a bind on fourth down with the clock running out when Pittsburgh calls the time out.  As they come back from the time out, the Ravens line moves early.  The ref throws the flag and back them up, and then allows the play to run.  Long bomb for interception in the end zone.

Shouldn't there have been an automatic run off of ten seconds for the penalty?

I'm guessing the Colts run away with this one, but I also thought the Bucs were going to trounce the Niners. Teams that don't make my predictions come true suck.

That's legitimate hype. Tedy Bruschi's brain might explode.

the 10 second run off only occurs if the clock is running during the infraction.  the point of the rule is prevent the offense from stopping the clock by having a false start and to ensure that the offense is following all procedure rules when trying to get a play off at the end of a game/half.

You don't want to take the A-Train? I could see why not. Shoot, I'm 50 with bum knees and I could probably outrun him.

I'm glad we've got the bye week. We started dropping like flies against the Cardinals. Henry with a slight groin tear, Pile with a groin pull, our backup at RCB and nickle safety with a sprained ankle, Singleton out for the year with a broken clavicle, one of our rookie DT/DEs on IR with a high ankle sprain and sprained knee.

We just signed back 2 guys for safety depth that I thought we would never get rid of in Dixon and Scott. We even had Ross Verba in for a look.(http://www.dallascowboyscentral.com/forums/images/smilies/nodno.gif)

Oh yeah, I agree.  I'm not speaking to the A-Train's abilities at all... more a shot at our fearless leader's offensive philosophy.
