QuoteThe Packers are in the market for a wide receiver and one of the players they will consider is former Philadelphia Eagles veteran Freddie Mitchell, who is currently unsigned.

The Packers are getting thin everywhere. Their new #2 back is ReShard Lee, the guy we let go of earlier this year. Good luck with that. Nice built in excuse for Favre if they completely implode this year.

Sorry, that was a needless shot. I have gotten pretty sick of all the coverage over the years, though. ^-^

Shouldn't that be a little closer to Brett's butt? I thought having your lips affixed there was in ESPN's terms of employment. ???

They individually work out the ass to mic distance when they sign up as well and they get to pick their own pet player.

Oooh, so ass to mike distance is negotiable. I suppose the closer you get, the more you get paid, huh? I didn't realize they got to pick a pet player either. I just figured they had a rock, paper, scissors contest to see who got the honor to kiss his butt on a week to week basis.

Sports journalism/analysis must be a helluva career. You can kiss what ass you want, hate whoever you want, and you don't even have to be objective in the process.

Despite what should be considered an overwhelming amount of media out there it's still a seller's market. People are picking up any old crap and calling it gospel. You could say that Matt Hasselbeck will never reach the superbowl until he learns to fart into a hat and you'll have people debating it that same day.

Don't I know it. That's why I don't even watch sports news shows any more. ESPN was great when it first came out, especially if you were a sports nut. Now they're mostly egotistical twerps who think the drivel that spews out of their mouths is gold.

4th and 26 playing for the Packers.  That would be farging hilarious.

Well put.  ESPN makes me sick.  I do appreciate some of the things they do but there talking heads with the exception of a few think they're all it.  Weak.

If he's on the team when they play the Eagles he'll say something like "I played against Sheldon and Lito in practice. No way they can cover me."

If Mitchell can't make it on the Pack, hard to imagine him making it anywhere.

because they are idiots.

Charles Rogers is a crack head bust.  Roy Williams has some injury issues.  Kevin Johnson is hurt.   Basically they were great on paper and now are not so good.  They are desperate.

We already have one big mouth receiver. Besides, Cortez happens to be a helluva tackler on special teams and he can fix your roof. All Mitchell does is talk about how he loves his hands. Which I personally find kind of creepy.

Yeah, ok.  Somebody is interested in what Freddie is doing these days, but it isn't an NFL franchise.
