Title: AR Press Conference
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on October 24, 2005, 12:03:34 PM
Injuries:

Moats - concussion - doing OK today
Owens - AC (shoulder) contusion
Spach - lower leg contusion
Akers - making progress
Short - high ankle sprain (doubtful for this weekend)

"I've got to do a better job with the mix on offense and we've got to do a better job offensively"

Said he does not forget about the running plays

Said he neds to give Westbrook more touches

Injury is not affecting McNabb's decsion making

"we're a little too passy heavy, we must mix it up better and balance it out some"

Donovan feels better today than he has after any other games this year

Kickoff returns need better blocking

I'd like to hear him say "I don't know what the problem is, I called awesome plays. Those jerks just didn't do 'em right."

Well this sucks...goddamn real player keeps cutting out on me. >:(

Andy did say in today's Inky that "I blew it...it will not happen again" in regards to the end-of-the-half debacle yesterday.

Right, because his decision-making was always only slightly above average at best.  The injury is, however, affecting the proper execution of his marginal decisions.

Kickoff returns need better blocking

Step one:  Replace Reno on the return team.  I've yet to see him make more than a somewhat OK lead block for a kick returner this year, and USUALLY, he gets trucked.

One more thing - I've been saying since he got hurt, that losing JR would be our biggest loss from the 04 team to this team. Unfortunately, I was right.

Well, you missed a hell of a final 3:00...the first 57 minutes was painful, frustrating and I found myself getting angry quite often.

Defensively they were awesome. But the offense was zesty.

When Mikell blocked that kick, it was pure bedlam in there. And it was the loudest I've ever heard the Linc. Actually the stadium was loud as hell all day long.

No, you weren't.  McNabb's injury has been this team's biggest loss in a complete no contest.

Even Reed wouldn't be doing much with the crappy blocking out there. He might actually hold on to the ball though.

jr reed has definitely hurt...but you cant compare a special teamer to an everyday player...id put pinky ahead of jr in the loss game....i cant believe how bad the wr's are behind TO...brown is not even close to being an nfl player right now and lewis is non-existsent and is a #3 at best anyway

And nice job by GLew getting separated from the ball on the 3 yard line. Hold onto the ball, dude.

Calm down, Fred. I'm speaking in terms of guys who have been out for the year due to injuries (Pink, JR, McDougle) or guys who we lost via FA (Burgess, Ike) and I think JR's loss has had the greatest effect. Remember the field position he gave us last year? Granted the blocking has been piss-poor all season, but none of the guys who have attempted to run back the kickoffs has shown any sort of spark at all.

LJ's ball security skills are horrible.

I wanted to saw his hands off yesterday. For real.

we also didnt miss him vs the 9ers...since they totally suck.

they held the falcons to only 14 points, while putting up 4 sacks.

so the only game we missed burgess was the dallas game.

I'm thinking JR Reed may've come in handy on passing downs as well...put him at SS while moving Lewis to OLB (Reed's speed and ball skills are superior to Lewis's) thus keeping Dhani or Sims from being matched up against those good TEs.

It reminded me of the Super Bowl.  The way some of the players were lolly-gaggin along...i said out loud "here goes a repeat of the end of last years Super Bowl" and unfortunately...i was correct.  I just don't get it...do they not have a sense of urgency on that team?

A little unrelated, but did anyone see Dawk's PC? He was still farging pissed.

He said straight up, 'Dallas was a fluke' and that it will not happen again. Absolutely stone faced. The funny part was after the way he reacted, the press were all quiet as hell. Dawk looked like he wanted to snatch up the next person who asked a question about the Dallas Game/Defense Playing Hard/Sure Tackling.

Dawk is the man!  :yay :yay

Yeah, it was the louder than the Vikes MNF game in week 2 last year. That was the loudest I've ever heard it. I wasn't at the NFCCG though.

I had my head down when Mikell blocked that kick. I was hoping that when SD made it 20-13 with that FG that the offense would be able to march the field with only the 2:00 warning to stop the clock.

I heard the crowd go nuts and when I looked up I saw Ware streaking down the sideline. Then I went into hug/high-five mode for about 10 minutes.

Not really.

What he could do is...

1. Run it off tackle
2. Run traps
3. Run toss sweeps more (the misdirection one yesterday was nice)
4. Pull some OL out right...would be nice to see #73 & #69 leading the way

The whole run it into Fraley's ass is ridiculous.

Whoa whoa whoa. Slow down there, bucko. We can't expect 4 different kinds of running plays all at once. We're going to confuse Andy. One at a time my man. One at a time.

If someone would simply tap Andy on the shoulder and tell him to flip the playsheet over, he'd find the running plays and call them.

Seriously, do I have to think of everything for you assclowns?

Eh, I'd think it'd be easier to put a knee brace on Ritchie and go back to the I-formation, where most of the rushing damage was done in 2003.

I know it's fashionable to hate on Reno in these parts and to an extent I don't begrudge you folks that but at the same time I would have thought that ST returns have been brutal enough this season to underscore why Mahe still draws a check:  because he's the only one that has demonstrated the consistent ability to actually catch and secure the football. :P
