Do any of you primates even know what I'm talking about?
I can't stop doing them. I take three or four bathroom breaks a day to do a new one. It has almost replaced my self-love-at-the-workplace trips to the bathroom. Almost.
you play the game 3 or 4 times in the shteinter. at work there is only one thing i do in the shteinter and i try not to linger in there too long.
When I was in PA the weekend of the OSU/PSU game, my mother-in-law showed me her book of sudoku puzzles. I didn't give it back to her until I was leaving to go home, and she's lucky she got it back at all.
They look hard.
I hear it's great, but I'm not into puzzles. I read a book on the train and NFL articles on the can.
Meh. I've tried 'em but they don't tend to hold my interest too awful well.
Yep...when I go at work, I bring in either Sports Illustrated or Sporting News...it's the only time I ever read them.

Sudoku, among other things, new ones every week. I waste a lot of time doing puzzles.
Supposed to keep Alzheimer's away, ya know...
go nerd it up with the time wasting game.
Nah, Green Dragon was lame. This one you actually have to think.
I found one yesterday that I couldn't finish in my 9-minute bathroom trip. Which made me angry.
Those things look stupid. No wonder you dolts like them.

The Green Dragon...i've been there before.
The Green Dragon rulez.

I'm stuck on this one. I suck.

this is creepy shtein. I just did one this afternoon for the first time and it took me about an hour and a half. I was probably doing it when this thread was started. Weird. I didn;t know they were popular.

The "medium" difficulty ones usually take me 10-15 minutes. The "difficult" ones usually 20-25 minutes.
This one's supposed to be medium. Ha.
5 9 2 3 6 1 7 8 4
4 6 8 9 2 7 3 5 1
3 1 7 5 8 4 6 2 9
7 2 1 4 9 8 5 3 6
8 4 5 6 7 3 1 9 2
9 3 6 1 5 2 8 4 7
2 5 4 8 1 6 9 7 3
6 7 9 2 3 5 4 1 8
1 8 3 7 4 9 2 6 5
I totally rule at being a dork. Also, this one was freaking tough.
They have taken over Britain too. If I'm bored on the tube commuting to work I fill in any old number in double quick time so people think I'm clever.

How many times did you have to guess? More than once?

That gave me my first chuckle of the day.

My first guess, proved to be incorrect quickly, which is good because it let me know that the 'other' number in that square was the correct one. After that things opened up pretty quickly.

Biters.
I've been hooked on these damn things for about 2 months now.
Here's the site for you if you can't get enough (http://sudoku.com.au/). There's a new one every day and there's an archive that dates back to May. Even a timer so you can see how slow you are. :yay
You're welcome bitches...
I've been doing some "research", and the puzzles (even the hardest ones) are SUPPOSED to be done in such a way that you never HAVE to guess to complete it. The challenge lies in trying to do one without guessing at all.
You can solve them much more quickly in many instances with guessing, but the mental stimulation is greater when you don't... or so they say. I bought the "Mensa Sudoku" book the other night, and have done a few puzzles. The book's kind of cool, because theoretically each one is more difficult than the last.
I've never heard of this puzzle until last week when rjs brought it up. Now, this Sunday's paper had on init, next to the crossword puzzle. I was at Borders bookstore this weekend, and they had about 25 different books on these things on an end cap.
rjs, you are a trend leading sonuvabitch.....
If you use pencilmarks and practice a little, you should be able to solve even the most difficult ones w/o guessing.

Every day I see this thread and try to will it to say seppuku, but it never does. Then I remember I can change it by hand, but that's just too much work.
I would just like to share that I am still obsessed with Sudoku, and as I have mastered all the methods for solving, I no longer ever have to guess on a properly-designed one, no matter how difficult it is.
You all care. Admit it.
Get in line, dingis.
Fun
What's seppuku? Is it similar to bukake?
Yes.
