Now there's a slogan a city can get behind in its tourism ads.
Well done.
:yay
Detroit is like a post-apocolyptic wasteland. Traffic lights and streetlights out perpetually, steam pouring from the sewage grates year-round, and some parts of the city are so depopulated that all you see driving through them is the occasional shivering junkie walking the sidewalks aimlessly in front of wholly abandoned blocks. I don't think the city even has the energy to stage a decent riot. It's like Camden scaled up to world-class city size. All the cops and revitalization money focus in on the one gentrified area of downtown by Comerica Park and the Fox Theater. When Ford and GM get sent to the big junkyard in the sky by Japanese and Chinese competition in the not-so-distant future, I think portals to Hell might start spontaneously opening up.
Having spent a lot of time in both Detroit and Philly, Philly would need to work around the clock fulltime to become more hellish than Detroit. But if anyone can do it, it's Mayor Street!
Tourists already know whats up. If I go to NY, I don't think that south bronx is an area I'd be wanting to visit.

Hey that's the birthplace of hip-hop. At least NY's slums have culture.

I've never been there, but you've convinced me. Send the New Orleans refugees to Detroit. It'll be just like home, only cold.
Detroit. What a place for a Super Bowl.

Oh shtein, the Bridge Wars! :-D

My thoughts exactly. What in the hell ever made the NFL give Detroit a Super Bowl?! It's one of the worst places in the entire country. Hell, i'd rather it be in fargin New Mexico or some other barren place.
Quote*Chicago did not report forcible rape totals.
Because most involved other species.
Murder rates are up in Philly though. So we got that going for us and all...

I wasn't aware that was just restricted to his latest material. He's a competent (and obviously influential) rapper, but I don't find his social commentary particularly "edutaining." Right side of the Bridge Wars though. When it comes to Bronx rap, I prefer the Ultramagnetic MCs.
