Title: Chargers front 7
Post by: pinoyboy2pt0 on October 17, 2005, 03:48:09 PM
Most notably:

Jamall Willams vs Honey Buns/Hicks
Andrews vs Donnie Edwards

Not sure if DE plays near the LOS much or if the have him blitz, seems like more of a coverage guy (?)
Anyway, I sure do hope Hank can at least contain Jamall.  That guy is dominating and a flat out beast.

Very interested to see how Hank does.

For those of you who watch the bolts more than I...how's this looking?

The Eagles line is more than capable of giving Mcnabb time against the Chargers. They've gave him good protection against plenty of better defensive lines before. The Chargers defensive line is solid, but it's not great or anything, and their secondary is very capable of being torched. If the offensive line blocks well the Eagles will shred that defense.

The Eagles front seven sucks. In case anyone has been hiding under a rock for the past few months.

It sucks right now, but has enough talent to be a very good group. As the year goes on Jimmy Johnson will get more out of them. There's too much talent on it to continue to be ineffective.

ND Kalu, Trent Cole and Juqua Thomas do not constitute 'talent.'

this should help:

QuoteEagles | Walker Practices
Mon, 17 Oct 2005 13:36:30 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles DT Darwin Walker (thigh) practiced Monday, Oct. 17 but his status for Week 7 has yet to be announced. Walker had missed the past three games with a bruised thigh.

Getting Walker back will definitely help, but our DEs have been tear-your-eyes-out awful so far, while Burgess has 5 sacks. Sweet.

Talent don't mean jack shtein if they don't play any better than they did against Dallas.

Jamal Williams is indeed a stud. He's going to get after Fraley. This is the exact type of guy who he struggles with - huge and strong.

Steve Foley, Luis Castillo, Donnie Edwards, Williams...all good/great players.

The talent is in bold.
The talent with production is bold and underlined.
The hard-working fatasses are in plain type.

Wasn't dirty, IMO. He was pushed. Like Zach Thomas yesterday with Griese.

I know it wasn't dirty-not like that one play where some Eagle took it on the knee (in preseason?).

Ike Taylor on Jon Ritchie in Pittsburgh....that wasn't dirty either. :P

For farg's sake, I'm going to buy you a sarcasm detector and a black eye.  I didn't even think the hit on McNabb was dirty until the cheating Falcon got fined.

Buy him a black eye? What, are you too much of a Hoyda to hit him yourself?

I'll do it for $25.

Well, I know some people thought it was dirty. I thought you were part of the NB group who thought Taylor was trying to take out Ritchie.

And I'll fight the both of youse.

Bring it on, cupcakes. :-*

I've made up my mind.

If Hank has to handle Jamal Williams by himself, Hank will be his bitch all game and McNabb will be doing the zombie shuffle in slow motion with all that inside pressure and hobble around.  Jamal will eat Hank alive.

*bulletin board material for you Buns! - prove me wrong*

I don't know, but with the plethora of crappy players we have on this team, we have no chance to win another game all season.

I think you should be a GM of an NFL team.

thats a huge factor but im saying its been what 5 years...i can see as a stop gap measure for a year or two tops...but somewhere along the line you gotta get someone better in there

eagles will win again but not this week...luckily theres five division games in the second half...so they got a decent chance to win the division if mcnabb miraculously improves and is able to consistently throw the ball against good teams

because Fraley isnt gonna screw up the calls at the line.  Thats why he starts.   Same reason Bubba Miller started.

The Chargers defensive line is solid, but it's not great or anything, and their secondary is very capable of being torched. If the offensive line blocks well the Eagles will shred that defense.

The Chargers defensive line is pretty great against the run again this year and you probably won't get that many rushing yards against them unless you secretly traded for Jerome Bettis before the deadline yesterday and can run people over.

I do agree that the secondary is the weakest part of the chargers defence and that a healthy, capable quarterback would have little trouble racking up the passing yards. But passing touchdowns are what really count for anything, and our DBs really stepped it up last week in preventing those from occuring (despite the bloated passing yards allowed)
