are all my peoples still comfortable about this year...the team that sf dropped a thirty+ spot on just urinated all over the eagles....what gives....i want season ending predicts right now....
13-3
12-4
No need to panic.
Clearly I'm not comfortable with last place. I'm confident that we can turn it around but last place is last place.
We'll still finish just about 13-3 and win the SB, I'm not worried at all as far as how I think things will turn out. There are issues that need to be addressed though, just like every year. This year is no different. Last year it was the run defense, this year it's special teams and pass rush above all else.

.i want season ending predicts right now....
coming from the guy who wont post his weekly game predictions until the day before.
unless this speical teams and swiss cheese def is fixed.. this team will struggle against San Diego, Denver, New York, hell maybe even Wash and St Louis
taterskins is a split...i already called that...chargers is loss right now...brees will absolutely pick apart the eagles secondary...3-3 right there...maybe the window is closing ...
11-5
East is stronger this season and we're not as good as last season. Still think we're tops in the NFC but the gap has closed.
The Eagles were in last place after week 1 too which means that despite winning 3 in a row, no progress has been made through the first 5 (going on 6) weeks of the season. ;)
this division is a dog fight. I have said it before. Don't feel you are making yourself less superior by saying that. I know for a fact all of us NFC east teams can win 10 games, it won't happen because we will force eachother to lose but we all have the potential. I just thought dallas was gonna beat you due to their 3-4 defense that is suited for the pass. I said that dallas would sweep you a few weeks ago and i still believe it. I think the skins will be pretty lucky to split with you. I just think that your defense could stop our offense and our defense will give up atleast 14 points. I see the division having 2-3 teams winning 10 games but none of them winning more than 11 or 12.
The eagles in my opinion will win 11 games with the skins winning 10 and gints or cowboys also winning 10, i will have to see how they play against eachother this week.
Also don't worry about the shtein dallas is talking. they last week were sayin that they were the worst team in the league and such. They will talk but they really are not that good. I don't know what happened today but it seemed like they beat you pretty bad. I need to see some real replays, not just the touchdowns, to see if your team really is suffering with mcnabb being hurt.
Doomsday already? Man, don't jump ship too early. Seriously, what kind of Eagles fans are you? It's a hard loss, but be reasonable.
Got to love you eagles fans lol

We're better than last season, but just not playing like it. By the end of the year I think we will be.

Special teams suck ass. Can't return or cover a kick for shtein. The offense is terribly inconsistant and the defense is not generating pressure even with the blitz. Scrub receivers are putting up big numbers and teams are scoring once inside the redzone. The only thing that's improved over previous years imo is that the middle of the defense is playing better against the run.
This is still a very good football team and the best in the NFC. But no way is this team better than last year. And if they are then they sure as hell aren't playing like it.
Uhh.... that is exactly what I said. They aren't playing like it, but by the end of the year they will be.

Bauer:
Good observations. This division is no push over any longer. Skins showed me a lot today in Denver. Looking at the stats Brunnell had a great day.
You're right about the Dallas fans. Last week was the end of the world. They were throwing in the towel. We Eagle fans never, ever do that ::)
Don't be a stranger.
The division isn't a pushover, but it's still far from the point where we have to worry even a little bit about not winning the divison. The gap is still significant between the Eagles and the rest of the division. 5-1 shouldn't be all that difficult to pull off. If you think the division is better then that's ok, but to base it on the Cowboys beating us is a little too premature IMO. I'm not saying you are, but if you are then I'd sit tight just a little. We would've lost to any team the way we played today.
I am just concerned at the disturbing trend we're seeing here. These slow starts in three straight games was eventually going to bite us in the ass. Special teams are dreadful. D line getting very little pressure on the last three QB's who are probably three of the least mobile in the NFL. Agreeing with SD, mediocre WR's eating us up. I hope this just goes down as another Colts in 02, Pats in 03 and Steelers in 04 debacle.
I do agree with you that we would have lost to any team the way we played today.
10-6...losing ike, burgess, and, yes, simon & not adequately replacing them wasn't very smart.
Wow. Lots of panicking going on in this thread. It's one fricken game. Big deal.
You're all going to look pretty ridiculous in December after they've sewn up the division again.
i still think they'll win the division...i just don't think they're as good as they were last year.
I'll assume that this thread was reactionary. No need to get all retarded about it. The Eagles usually drop the game before the bye, and they're pretty banged up. They'll beat San Diego, and they'll get on track.

Atlanta this year, and Pitt last year, were just one game.
This is different. We spent 7 days discussing the "statue". 0 sacks. He even ran 10 yds for a first down. When Drew Bledsoe to Terry Glenn is burning you on a regular basis in the game, it's not on athletic ability. JJ's defense was schooled yesterday, completely outschemed. The O was no better or worse than usual, although 9 runs is ridiculous. McNabb was a little off, not hitting wide open guys, and honestly, didn't have the ball enough to get in much of a groove. He's also not moving that well. Still elusive, but no get away speed.
JJ has to get his defense in better position to win games, to quote a phrase. They have been gutted the last few weeks, and it has nothing to do with losing Burgess/Ike/Simon. Team McDougle believes he is the key to our salvation.
No, I don't have a straight face, but you gotta hold onto something. ;D
bledsoe had 14 yards rushing yesterday.
mcnabb has 9 yards rushing this season.
:paranoid
Eagles will go 11-5, I believe. I don't know if it will be good enough to win the division or not.
They'll have to go into the playoffs hot to get back to the Super Bowl. The good news is that they won't sit on their asses for 2 meaningless games again.

i still think they'll win the division...i just don't think they're as good as they were last year.
on the slight contrary...i think the starting 22 are better this year than last.
however...this team has no depth at all. this may be the first season where making no effort to resign some of the players completely bites them in the ass.
losing burgess is costing them. kalu farging sucks. and then you have mayberry and bobbie williams. and ike reese is proving to be a HUGE loss.
the special teams has blown all season. it wont get any better, there is no solid depth on this team at all.
however i am very concerned about the effectiveness of the defensive coaches, especially with JJ...i dont know entirely why he was given a contract extension. his being exposed started in the superbowl, and it hasnt really been fixed.
Reid totally ignored the depth on this team over the offseason. and the last two drafts after the first 2 rounds have been deplorable. totally ineffective. there are 3 (maybe 4)players out of 21 that are making ANY kind of contribution....

JJ is the best D Cordinator in the league.
Who do you want instead?
They should give him a farging life-time contract.

Too funny, JJ is an unbelievable DC - has one bad game, and you want to replace him :-D He gets a pass in my book.

Why do you think JJ was screaming like a mental patient on the sideline? Guys were out of position in the scheme. Several Birds defenders alluded to it in post game interviews. I really believe the leaders of this defense will address these issues.
At one point, Aikman said that JJ just walked up to the defensive bench, glared at the players, and walked away. :-D

I heard he also flipped them off and took a dump in Lito's helmet during halftime.

He's finally taking my advice. I was wondering how many emails it would take...
It's not so much that the Eagles aren't as good as last year, but rather a lot of other teams have improved when the Eagles barely improved. I think the Eagles are the best team in the NFL, but man other than last offseason, they never sign any big name players. I know they don't always work out, but Burgess could've been kept and a couple more players for depth could've been added. Instead, their big FA acquisition was Mike Mcmahon.
