I'm all for Team Patterson, but losing Corey Simon and having Darwin Walker injured is just letting the running game cut through the middle. Sure, Trotter, Adams, and Jones can stop them, but they're not always going to be there. Mike Patteron's great, but you can't put him in as a starting DT during his rookie year and expect him to catch up to what Corey Simon did late last year and what Darwin Walker's capable of.
Um, the Chiefs had like 0 rushing yards up the middle yesterday. They almost all came from the outside. The DT's have been pretty good against the run so far this year. I'd like to see someone besides Patterson pressure the QB but the run d has been quite solid.

Walker was doing great before the injury. 2.5 sacks in 2 games.
I have no recollection of what any injured player did prior to getting hurt. I don't even know what TO did last year before he got hurt. :paranoid
Yay! The entire premise behind this thread makes no sense! Yay!

They really didn't go through the middle, so I'm not sure yet. But what I forgot to add is the pressure the d-line puts on quarterbacks. Jevon Kearse has gotte one sack so far, WTFBBQ
Darwin Walker was a BEAST before being injured. Patterson has been doing a good job. Rayburn hasnt been as good as I thought he would be. Hollis is Hollis.
overall against the run the guys have been great.
I think it would be interesting to see Marshall in there on a few snaps. I think he can be more than servicable getting 10-15 snaps a game. He had a particularly good pre-season and TC.
lol...I think the DTs have been better than they've been the last few years, actually. Walker has been a force, Patterson seems like he's always making something happen, Rayburn has been solid, even if unspectacular, and Hollis has been extremely solid. Trotter's been able to look as good as he has because the DTs have been doing a very good job.
I mean, they're DTs...if you don't know where they are, that's usually a pretty good thing. When DTs are really noticable, it's usually because they're being blown off the line.
Spew's take...
QuoteIt may or may not be a simple move to promote Keyonta Marshall from the practice squad to the active roster. Honestly, I think the Eagles are exploring all of their options. My read is that if they intended to promote Marshall, they would have done it early on Monday. As it is ... it's early evening on Monday and there is no word.
My out-on-a-limb, fearless, crack-smoking prediction....Brandon Whiting. :=)
Spadaro's comment is meaningless. The Eagles need to determine if Akers will be going to IR and if Walker can go on Sunday before making any roster moves. If Walker is healthy enough to play 15 snaps, then there's no need to sign a DT. They could then move Akers to IR and re-sign McCants as planned.
if you're looking for the DT's they can be found wedged between the two DE's.

Hopefully Kearse won't be one of them, he should be wedged between the quarterback and guard ^__________________^
Can't Akers be placed on the PUP list until week 6?? Doesn't seem like he'll be back before then anyway.
As for Marshall, as good as Patterson has been do we really want to go the rest of the season with 2 rookie DTs?? Is there anyone out there we might be able to bring in??
You cannot place a guy on the PUP list now if he opened training camp on your active roster.
Cletidus Hunt is out there. Green Bay cut him and he hasn't been signed yet. I don't know if he's a guy they'd bring in, but if they're looking over th waiver wire and free agent lists he's available if they choose to not bring up Hollis Jr.

Gotcha.

He's OK, wouldn't mind taking him for vet minimum.
EDIT: They just signed a DT to the practice squad though, so it looks like Marshall will get the call up.
