So I'm watching Cold Pizza on ESPN2 (the show is getting MUCH better, but I'm pissed they took Thea Andrews off - she was a piece) yesterday morning and they had the segment on where two NFL writers talk about the "hot topics". One of the guys, Bob Glauber, is on there a lot and he is also a football writer for New York Newsday.
He said that TO also has a sports hernia but like Donovan it would not affect his playing status. And he also said that it would not affect his future with the team as the Eagles still plan on bringing him back next year.
It really isn't too surprising to hear that considering he has chronic groin pain and the latest injury report on him states he has a lower abdominal strain like Donny Mac's was classified as before the sports hernia was brought into play.
But I haven't seen this reported anywhere else, so I'm curious if he scooped the local beat writers much like Jay Glazer did with Donovan's injury or if it is just speculation. Glauber is a guy who I like listening to and reading and he doesn't seem to be a moron like some of the other national guys out there.
Either way, we all know TO is a tough sumbitch. I know the haters will say he's soft, but when he was in SF he used to have injections in his groin so he could play. I don't care who you are...if you're getting a needle in the area of the beanbag, you're tough.
Is this injury that prevalent or is it just the birds? Duce, Sheldon, D Mac, TO. Let's hope it stops there.
Yeow, just thinking about a needle near the jewels makes me cringe.
I believe Sheridan and Brookover both said that Owens had abdominal problems as well, but they were minor and wouldn't keep him out.
TO and Donovan can be sports hernia buddies.

They can be just like Tomax and Xamot.
TO has the same groin problem he's had for years....and from what I've heard/read since he tweaked it in camp, is that it always causes pain in the groin AND ab. Perhaps they were just speculating on TO.

i'm starting to hear a lot of this from people the he might be back. i can't see how, especially if they win the SB. if they win, i think they will have gotten what they needed from TO and will cut him.
everything's good with him now because he said he would just play football and do his job. people take his conforming as a sign that he's changed, but we all know he hasn't. he's still going to want a new contract at the end of this year and the Eagles still won't give it to him. i know that he has the roster bonus coming to him, but Rosenscum had said a couple times that the situation last offseason could not have been resolved by the Eagles simply guarenteeing the roster bonus, he said that TO wanted a whole new contract.

My "source"...who Phreak and others know isn't just some BS source...has been (since the summer) the biggest believer that TO would NOT be back. However, in the past month, he has completely changed his tune and believes, even IF the Eagles win the SB this year, he will be back. And believing anything that Rosenpuke says is where you went wrong there. ;)
