Title: McNabb- NFC player of the month

QuoteDonovan McNabb shoved aside injuries to have himself a great September. It was so great that McNabb today will be named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Month, the fourth time in his seven-year career that he has earned such an award.

September has been a good month for No. 5 over the years, who also earned the honor in September of 2002 and 2003. He garnered his other monthly award in November 2003.

Against the 49ers, McNabb matched his career best with five touchdown passes and threw for 342 yards, all in just three quarters worth of work.

McNabb completed 30 of 52 passes for 365 yards with touchdowns of four and five yards in the Eagles' 23-20 victory over the Oakland Raiders.

I didn't really think he played that well this month. 5 good quarters out of 12 doesn't strike me as a POTM type performance.

Cadillac probably should've gotten it

Well what other player in the NFC was better?  Cadillac maybe...but he's a rook.   8 td's this month...only Carson Palmer is tied.

David Akers should have won it. For crying like a girl and carrying his son off the field like he had just won the superbowl. Douche.

I'm not whining, or crying. Just pointing out that there's no crying in football. Especially by a kicker.  And for his performance he should have won player of the month. Or at least a swift kick in the teeth.

The Case for Westbrook.

439 yards in 56 touches.  7.8 yards/touch leads all RBs.  He's on pace for a 1000/1000 season as well.

Has scored 4 TDs and 6 plays of 20 yards+ (which equals Clinton Portis's output during his career as a Skin.)

Had no fumbles and no drops.  Played error-free as far as I can tell.

Torched Keith Brooking, Julian Peterson, and Charles Woodson...all pro-bowlers.

Westbrook has more total yards, more first downs, more TDs, and more 20+ yard plays.

Who knew I could have a fan club for being purposefully contrary, complaining about bitchy athletes, obsessing over hollywood starlettes' poopers, and generally talking nonsense?
I'm going to celebrate by getting drunk tonight. Mom would be so proud.

I didn't really think he played that well this month. 5 good quarters out of 12 doesn't strike me as a POTM type performance.

well, McNabb leads the NFL in passing yards, tied for 1st in passing TD's, and is 4th in the NFL in QB rating.

Granted. But he did the majority of that damage in 5 quarters. He deserved player of the week for week two, not player of the month for September.

He played like crap in week 1 and the team lost. Played great in week 2 for 3 quarters. Plyaed like crap in the first half then lit it up in the second half of week 3.

Cadillac took a team with no hope of fielding a decent offense on his back and led them, almost single-handedly, to a 3-0 record. That's player of the month stuff right there.

McNabb deserved it.  How many TDs does Cadillac have?  Hes not carrying that team either, its their defense.  When was Akers crying?  I didn't see tears.  Id like to see some of you fargs even attempt to walk out on that field again like he did.

Steve Smith had a fairly ridiculous September also.

McNabb, Williams, or Smith all were worthy IMO.  I would have given it to Smith or Williams, since McNabb is capable of even better and got his numbers from a pass-wacky gameplan.

Agreed.  Guy is the real deal, so far.  I heard one of those talking heads on ESPN say that teams will now start stacking the line against the Bucs to stop Cadillac and force Greise to beat them.  Ask any Bronco fan, Greise has no arm.
