Great article.

Dawk really is a force, on and off the field.  Glad someone other than an Eagles fan thought to write about it.

Only idiots outside of the Eagles fan base have to "recognize" this.

We've known it all along.  :yay

i love the last line of the article

QuoteHe's entered that realm where he knows he's playing on his last contract, especially since the Eagles don't re-sign players once they're past the age of 30.

didnt dawkins sign his extension about a week before his 30th birthday?

douche

Dawkins is a superstar, huh?

In other news, I've heard reports about explorers figuring out that the Earth is round.

That will make him even crazier when he steps out on that field.  :evil :evil :evil

How bad did he look last night

an absolute embarassment...he should be cut for that second td

two minutes left in the game and hes worried about a 10 yard in-route from a guy who burned him deep two minutes prior

JJ on Dawk:

Quote"I'm impressed with how young he looks," Johnson said yesterday. Dawkins, whose 10 years as an Eagle tie him with Hollis Thomas for the team's longest tenure, turns 32 next month. "He's playing like a rookie. He has so much energy. You wouldn't think he's been in the league that long. He's playing faster than I've ever seen him play. That's probably been the biggest surprise. We know he's a good football player, but he's playing like a youngster."

Dawkins always has been one of the most fit Eagles, but he said this past offseason, he did a lot of work with Orlando-based trainer Jeff Higuera on one of those big fitness balls "to shore up the things you take for granted - joints and ligaments - a lot of 'core' work. Core is not just your abs, like people think. It's your back, your spine."

Dawkins said he benefited from a "martial arts" stretching routine implemented by Higuera. "I feel great," Dawkins said. "You never really could say, 'This is the best I've ever felt,' because I can't look back and tell you exactly how I felt, but this is the best I can remember myself feeling in a long time."

Dawkins has 15 tackles - 10 solo - in the first two games, along with 1 ½ sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and two hurries.

I've said it during both games this year, Dawk is TEARING IT UP so far this season!!  :evil

Who comes out from getting a rushed two IV bags, and takes over a game?? I don't think I've ever seen that happen before...must've been some Red Bull in those bags.

It's good to see the national media begin to recognize what Eagles fans have known all along.

Dawkins is the man!  He and Keith Byars are my all-time favorite Eagles.

I think its interesting that Dawkins became a leader once TV left.  He was always a force on the field and led by example but he never had to worry about being the voice on defense.  Its good he was groomed into the role and never pressure.

Hopefully young ballers like lito, sheldon, and lewis can learn from guys like Trot and Dawk to make it happen when they are older.

I thought Lewis already, more or less, did so for the backfield when we had to play Michael Lewis and the (then) no-names... In a way I think te defense has something going for them... more so then the offense... I don't know, for some reason I have seen the defense always as a unit that was closer to eachother then the offense... and I think it showed when all the stars went out with injuries two years ago...
