Title: a niner fan dropping in
Post by: cciowa on September 14, 2005, 12:56:33 PM
just decided to log in as a niner fan to see if there is any concern in philly about  your team, your quarterback or the game coming up,, do not worry, i am not a 19 year old kid who knows nothing about football and only plays madden  or fantasy, i have been a loyal fan since 1972 when  i was 12.. i even remember when steve spurrier  was the niner quarterback when brodie got hurt, i am very old school, it is amazing, myself included, how many niner folks totally turned on owens, i think it was when he started to drop balls and then took no responsibility for it, i know we have been bad for a couple years but as crazy as it sounds, we are better off without him. most of that is cuz we had a awfull coach in the last few years, i do not know how good we will be this year in terms of wins and lossess but at least they are more disciplined and actually have a leader in nolan who knows what the heck is going on. anyway i just wondered if you guys are  worried cuz you lost monday, i think the falcons needed to win  to prove something, the eagles had nothing to prove. and let me know if you guys are really upset with the off season antics of owens,, trust me  he really is a bad apple,   i know you guys really turned on  ex niner ricky waters when he did not play hard a few years back so for his sake, owens better not act up  on the field, i just figured when he turned on mcnabb he would be hated in philly, sorry this is so long, thank you for your time cc

For claiming to be "old school," you sure as hell are new skool on proper grammar.

I would try to process all that, but my head would explode.

Good luck to your team on Sunday.

Welcome aboard.

Aside from the "For Who For What" debacle when Ricky alligator armed a few passes his first game vs. the Bucs, he wasn't much of a distraction. Once he started playing well most of our fans embraced him. He had a feud with Gruden about not getting the ball enough and a few other minor things, but I can see how you'd make the comparison. Same thing will happen with TO. Once we start winning and he's doing well, all will be forgotten. Concerns about our team after the loss? None, really. The Offense was inconsistent and McNabb has a bruised chest. Other than that, it was our usualy crappy opening day loss (2-5 on opening day with Reid as our coach). We'll bounce back as always.

no, no and no.   now if they lose to the 49ers, that becomes yes, yes, yes.

Quoteanyway i just wondered if you guys are worried cuz you lost monday

no.  Eagles lost the first two games of the 2003 season and made it to the NFC Championship game. Plenty of season left.

Quoteand let me know if you guys are really upset with the off season antics of owens,,
Most everyone was sick of his offseason crap.  Some fans still hate him.  As long as he doesnt pull any BS on the field I dont care.  But he certainly doesnt have the love of the Philly fanbase like he did last season.

Quotei know you guys really turned on ex niner ricky waters when he did not play hard a few years back

Ricky Watters intentionally didnt go after a pass to save his own ass... and then had the balls to say so afterwords and keep saying so.   Owens crap has been media related and not on the field, so far.

I'll clap and cheer for McNabb throwing a hell of a good pass to that dirtbag, but anyone who possesses the audacity to tell me Owens deserves some credity will get kicked.

i am not sure about firebombing his  face but i think some niner fans would like to  destroy kevin barlow. he sucked last year  but so did everyone else. then he came out and had a two yard average against the rams.  we will see what happens sunday but barlow haters are calling for the rookie frank gore to play.i am always optimistic but i do know if they can not run on sunday, your defense will  make things rough for them

Actually, yeah, I will be sitting on my hands when he scores.  He caught a few balls Monday night and I didn't have any trouble not cheering.  You say that you cheered for a dirtbag almost like you're proud of it.  How sad.  I will not cheer for T.O., period.  You don't think that's possible, I suppose.  I guess it's not, for you.

TO i dont know yet...i hate him...but i cant say for sure whether i will cheer or not

i think at this point if he scored id cheer but it would not be for him it would be for the team cause a mcnabb to TO touchdown pass at this point would mean so much more for the team than just six points

I don't have a problem cheering for T.O. so long as he wears an Eagles uniform.

Once he's gone, he could be run over by a speeding locomotive for all I care.  I don't have to like the person to cheer for the uniform he wears.  If some of you do, that's cool.  I don't.

ask any of the seven people i sit with if i EVER even so much as clapped for brain mitchell much less fully cheered...i hated that man with a passion for ten years as a taterskin...i dont know how to just turn that off and cheer for someone...to me thats hypocritical...i am living proof one can not cheer for an eagle and still be a fan

TO is different as i used to love him (even on sf) before the garcia comments and this past off-season in general...TO i more or less have no respect for as opposed to the hatred i had for mitchell

It's sometimes hard to see who caught the ball since the camera angle sucks and there's an opposing player on top of someone. Do you wait till the player gets up and throws the ball to the ref before cheering?  :P

Okay.   :-D

Look, I didn't like Reggie White's idiotic religious nonsense but I still cheered my guts out everytime he sacked the quarterback or stuffed the run.

I don't like Pinkston because he's a gutless Hoyda out there but whenever he manages to haul in a pass, I still cheer my ass off for him because he's an Eagle.

Being stubbornly defiant can be an admirable trait, Dio, but sometimes it just makes you a pig-headed jackass.  I'll let you decide which is which in your case.

Yeah, basically.  It's a little easier to do that from the couch, I admit.  But I don't live in Philly, and won't be at any games this year, so I'm not too worried about it.

By that logic, you'd support W because he's American.

Look, I'm not telling you people that you have to burn your Eagles flags.  Cheer for the dirtbag if you want.  I won't.  He's an embarassment to the team.  I've said it before but I'll say it again, because it fits:  he makes me wish I wasn't an Eagles fan.  He's everything this team is not and should not be: stupid, narcissistic, venal, petty, gaudy.   The list goes on.  Maybe I'd cheer for him if he got hurt, or cut.  Most likely, I'd just spit.  Sooner he's gone, the better.

Actually, by my logic, I would respect Bush because of the office he holds not because of the type of man he is or the beliefs he holds.

It's the same thing only in reverse, Dio.  Respect the office = respect the team.  That's my viewpoint on the issue.  Anyone is welcome to kiss my ass if you don't agree.  Of course, that's my stated policy when it comes to anyone who disagrees with me on anything.

Sure, he's not the only to squabble over a contract and act like a jackass.  I'd argue that few have done it as insultingly as he has.  But I'll also admit that I probably hate the guy more than your average dirtbag because I was dumb enough to buy into his "I wanna play in Philly," shtick.  I'm a sucker.  But I won't get burned on him again.  He got his benefit of the doubt, he trashed it.  He gets no more love, ever again.  No cheering, no TO gear buying, nothing.  He's dead to me.  How's that for WWE drama?  ;)

Impressive.

I didn't take into account that you live in NY and have probably been harassed by moronic Giants over the fiasco. The hatred for his stupidity would run a little deeper for me as well.

Daily.  I'm the only Eagles fan in the office.  Surrounded by Patriots and Giants fans, and Jets fans, but they don't seem to care about TO all that much.  Not many Bills fans, I gotta say.  LOL.  I gotta defend the Eagles--it's my duty--against these fargers, and it's awful hard to do with TO wearing green.  All they gotta do is say his name and they win.  I'm telling you, the Eagles are the laughing stock of the NFL on account of this guy, even if people do admire the team for icing him out.  A supposedly blue collar, high class team, corrupted by the eptiome of Hollywood talent.  If I were to cheer for TO, I might as well go root for the Cowboys.  It kills me to see him in the same jersey Donovan McNabb wears.

It was in response to Monster who was claiming also to the "authorized" sponsor of McCants. Hence the additional redundant adjective Professor Dio, ass Prof PG

You must be a retard.  Pairing proud with a gimmick at :CF is a joke, dude.  The sponsorship game is stooopid, and this place is full of losers.  I should know, I'm a farging resident.  There's nothing to be proud of here.

Add Calvin farging Armstrong to the equation, and well, that's just absurd.

Get back on your tether!!
