For those of you that, like me and wife, get a whole lot of junk mail from credit card companies and banks, offering you cards and equity loans and such, there is now a way to get rid of them, either for 5 years, or forever.
You can do it over the phone at 1-888-567-8688 or at this site (http://www.optoutprescreen.com).
I'm sick of shredding the offers, and sending the business reply envelopes back empty or with a little note got old really fast... so hopefully this will work as well or better than the "do not call" list!

This is by far the best post on this message board ever (unless you include any of mine). I am by no means a treehugging granola chewing patchuli wearing hippie, but I am still amazed and upset and repulsed at how much paper is wasted by these useless mass mailings.
What's wrong with granola?

Same here. I'm no environmentalist, but it really was starting to piss me off too. I'm glad the credit unions got together and figured out a way to reduce these things.
