These guys are picking the Eagles to go 11-5, even though BOTH said the Eagles haven't gotten noticeably worse than last year. So what 5 games are they going to lose?
They won't. They go 12-4.
And the only reason they'll go 12-4 is because they'll sit the starters again during the final two weeks of the season.
Whatever, though. Ray Diddy's entitled to his opinion.

Ray Didinger, as smart of a football guy as he is, picked the Eagles to go 11-5 or worse last year as well. Just an FYI. I remember he was getting shtein for it on the Post Game show when they were 7-0.
The only way this team loses five games is if they experience a rash of injuries or if they wrap up HFA with 3 games to play.
When some of these sports writers prognosticate they always pick a low ball number. No one is going to predict a 14-2 or 13-3 season. They want to leave room for error and not seem like total homers.

agreed.
R Diddy wants to say 16-0, his proffession wont let him. ;)
Ray is the most enjoyable football guy to listen to on the radio, he's never a jerk to dumb callers and he really knows the game inside and out.

Yes, thank you. We've all said it for years and we all know it. Doesn't mean his predictions are gold.
Thanks guys and girls.

no kidding, where in my sentence did you see me saying that? i was merely commenting on Ray as a radio guy.
but, "you've all said it for years" so why would anybody else want to voice their opinon ::)
Looking at the schedule, we are better than every team on there. I only see a few challenging games.

Agreed. I enjoy listening to him for football and Jolovitz for baseball/college football. Even though Paul gets stupid sometimes.
RDiddy's new book is out now - Eagles Encyclopedia.
I love when hosts are jerks to dumb callers. It's hilarious. I don't know why that pisses so many people off, like when Howard and people do it. I never knew we had such sensitive people here.
Didinger is good to listen to, but Paul Jolovitz pisses me off. For someone who talks about not being politically correct all the time, he's the most politically correct guy I've ever heard. If someone calls up and says something like "I got my heart broken by the Phils loss." He'll say something like you don't get your heart broken by sports, you get your heart broken by the hurricane tragedy. No Paul, shut up.
I enjoy Ray as well. He brings great insight and knowledge to his show. He's probably figuring two losses when AR sits the starters after wrapping up homefield.

i need to get that.
i also need to get the movie that just came out.
i also want to get Gargano's book, i think he's a good writer and he full-access all last year to the team, so it should be pretty good.
Is Cuz's book out yet? I'd like to pick that one up, as well...I enjoy his writing.
RE: the season record, Macnow was predicting a loss on MNF to the Falcons, to start the season. He believes the Eagles are the better team, but pointed out that the Eagles don't always come out strong from the gate, and that the schedule makers weren't kind to the Eagles by putting them on the road on MNF against a team with a revenge factor.
Still, I can't see Vick passing for more than 120 yards in this game...and, I think Donovan to TO is going to be huge tomorrow night. Both the Eagles Offense and Defense looked mighty sharp in the preseason (when the starters played). The only unit that may be slow out of the blocks is their Special Teams, which seem to take a few games every year before the new players get in synch, and then get stronger as the season progresses.
well, according to every single pregame show today, the Eagles get their first loss this week. ::)
They are all saying that the "Eagles can't stop the Michael Vick experience"
:-D

but didn't you hear? the Georgia Dome is some sort of magical palace that makes the Falcons a great team but effects the Eagles in no way whatsover.
Fargin' magic should be outlawed! It's an unfair advantage.

SO, while the Saints play home games on the road and can't go back home can WIN...lets all feel bad for Favre's dumbass family who refused to evacuate.
He used the last magic from the last tragedy to trap them in their home so they couldn't escape. He's one farged up individual.

He's just plain evil.
Worship him, or suffer a fate worse than network television's mid-season replacement!
I wonder if Favre sold his soul to the Devil at the same crossroads in Clarksdale, Mississippi as blues legend Robert Johnson?
Seriously, think about it. He's been a drug addict, he's had family members die mysteriously, his wife has gotten cancer, his entire family lost just about every possession thanks to Katrina, and worst of all, he had Freddie Mitchell deny him a last chance at a Super Bowl win.
I'm telling you... S-A-T-A-N.
:paranoid
So he's going to con Ralph Macchio into taking him back there to renegotiate?

I don't get that, it's not true.
2000 - whupped up on the cowboys
2001 - lost by 3 points to a team that went 14-2 that season
2002 - lost by 3 points after dominating the first half of the game.
2003 - Only game we've stunk up the joint
2004 - killed the Giants
We may have lost some games, but we didn't get outplayed or anything like that. Just got beat by some top teams. Atlanta isn't a top team. Fraud.
Damn dude....where the hell you been?
the only game we got our ass handed to us in the past few years was the colts game.

Say what you want, but Reid is now 2-5 in season openers...Macnow didn't say they get killed in openers, just that they don't typically come out fast and win first games. Andy's a great coach, but his teams do not always come out strong from the gate...last night's game was sloppy with a lot of mistakes and missed opportunities, which are typically indicative of either lack of focus or lack of preparation for a team as talented as the Eagles. It kind of fooled me, because the first team offense looked sharp in the preseason.
Hopefully, they kick the snot out of the Niners on Sunday, and we can all put this memory behind us.
A win vs the Niners won't put this loss behind me the way I am. It's the Niners. We're expected to crush them. I won't rest until we get revenge on the Falcons. Which will be in the playoffs. In a weird way I hope we play them in the Georgia Dome again. I want the Eagles to show them who the better team is, even in that stupid dome.

As a season ticket holder, I hope we play them again, but at the Linc.
I'm not that concerned about this game, just yet...even as poorly as the Eagles played--and, I think the Falcons were at their best--they were two missed FGs or one long completion away from winning last night. The Falcons treated this like a playoff win, you could tell by their reaction after the game. To the Eagles, it was just the first of 16 games on the way to the playoffs.
I'd probably rather play them home too, so I could be at the game, but it has nothing to do with me being scared to play them at the Georgia Dome. I know a lot of people are scared(whether those people are on this site or not), but I'm not one of them. I just have a little fire inside me that burns and wants the Eagles to go back to that dome in the playoffs and shove it up their asses. It would be more fun to play the game here, but it would be so much more satisfying there. Either way, as long as we get to the Superbowl, that's all that matters.
Id rather play at home, so I can throw batteries at DDV.
