QuoteLions | Won't Add Another QB
Tue, 6 Sep 2005 08:29:57 -0700
Mike O'Hara, of the Detroit News, reports Detroit Lions head coach Steve Mariucci said the club would not sign another quarterback to take the roster spot of QB Jeff Garcia (leg, ankle), who is expected to miss up to two months due to leg and ankle injuries. The team will stick with QBs Joey Harrington and rookie Dan Orlovsky. The team will have WR Kevin Johnson as their emergency third-string quarterback.
Goooo KJ!

QuoteLions | K. Johnson Practicing as Emergency QB
Tue, 6 Sep 2005 07:23:57 -0700
Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions WR Kevin Johnson worked on some of the fundamentals at the quarterback position during practice Monday, Sept. 5, in preparation to become the team's emergency No. 3 quarterback for the season opener against the Green Bay Packers Sunday, Sept. 11. If the club doesn't add another quarterback this week, Johnson will serve as the third-stringer behind QBs Joey Harrington and Dan Orlovsky. Johnson has experience at the position from high school and as a backup to QB Donovan McNabb at Syracuse.
The Eagles are idiots for not signing him. Look at how versatile he is.
He's big enough to play MLB, too.
I hear he can punt as well. And block better than Parry. And AND AND!!
we really missed the boat on him.
It's moves like these that keep the Lions at the top of the NFC year after year.
It's not too late. We can trade Westbrook and a 2nd round pick for him.
He's supposedly an awesome FG holder too.
Having him on the team would eliminate the need for a minimum of 7-8 other guys. Our FO sucks.

Yeah, like they would do that deal. Especially when they have Kevin Jones.
Basically, their team would be nothing without the Kevin J's.
We could even use him as a field-stretching TE.
I hear from a certain local football writer than Johnson is good in bed. Not that I'm into that, just passing along info to our "different" posters like Yeti, rjs and hbionic.
Yay! Everything's a gay joke! Yay!
Saying yay twice like that is pretty gay.
What's the over/under on the amount of games till Harrington gets pulled in favor of Kevin Johnson? Whatever it is, i'm betting on the under.
He'll be too injured to be pulled.

Oh man, what can't this guy do?
No disrespect to Jerry Rice, but the best receiver ever did not retire yesterday.
