Considering Moats' & Perry's accomplished play from scrimmage, Mahe's ONLY value at this point is on returns.
KR is completely covered by Hood, Moats, & Wynn. Perry would be great here, too, if he makes the team, which he definitely should. So, Mahe's value is really reduced to simply PR.
Wynn is the established starting PR and should be completely healthy again by Week 2, if not for the opener.
Both Westbrook AND Sheppard were standout PR's in college, and both have run back punts for TD's in the pros (Lito's was in preseason). Plenty of NFL teams utilize starters as PR's all the time. We would only need one of these guys to fill in for 1-2 weeks at most, and only if absolutely necessary.
Redd has alot of PR experience from college, Arena, & NFL Europe. He flashed his PR ability in his only chance last night for 22 yards.
So, if Reid keeps Perry & Redd, the Eagles would go 4 deep at both KR and PR without Mahe on the roster. Even if only 1 or neither of Perry & Redd makes the team (unlikely, since Perry is in direct competition with Mahe), they would be covered well at each spot without Reno's services.
Thus, R.M. is completely, utterly, & totally EXPENDABLE right now. There's NO EXCUSE whatsover for keeping him on this roster for 2005 (not that there ever was in years past, either... but never to this degree).
While I agree that Mahe sucks donkey sack I also believe that

I agree. Dont want Mahe making the cut this year.
Couldn't you just put all this stuff in one post rather than flood the internet with all this mindless drivel? Perry fumbles too much, he goes!
OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!! :evil

someone else already suggested this in the levens/ritchie thread ::)
This board should establish a modest post limit before you can create new topics. 50 posts. 100. Something like that.
I know, right? It really chaps my ass when somebody has the nerve to sign up and actually start threads in the appropriate forum. And they're not even spam threads. What a douche.
gf is mighty grouchy today
And you're all just so friggin' pleasant.
This guy (gal?) makes relevant Eagles topics backed up with logic and reasoning why he (she?) is posting what he thinks... it's a refreshing change of pace. Not that I mind random Alba ass shots, but I'm not about to complain about Eagles related topics in the Eagles section. Better than more posts about Eckel by any means.
And Mahe should have been cut LAST year. This guy has no business being in the NFL, certainly not as a running back.
His lips hurt real bad, so he's going on IR.

Why am I always used as the example of a poster who posts nonsense?!
Oh. Right.
As of now, the great Reno Mahe is the #1 punt returner.
The end.

You should get something for that......
I'll put some chap stick on there later.

::) Real original.....slacker....
I hope Mahe's usefulness has finally gone kaput.
I will go on the record now as saying that I vehemently will disagree with the front office if Mahe makes this 53-man roster. Same goes with Scott Young, Josh Parry, or (sorry phatty) Carlos Perez.
You mean, aside from the fact he's from BYU?

Says it all. I was hoping Perry would/will make the team but the fumbles scare the crap out of me.
If Reno is cut I get to change my sponsorship to AR's body guard - the guy that took out the ref on the opening kick of the Panther game last season.
I just realized that Reno has two sponsors. That's awesome.
Reno isn't even a good punt returner either. Fair catches way too much. Stinks as a RB. Get him out!

That's rather blasphemous for football message board. >:D
It's okay, NB is gone. :)
