Title: Eagles 2004 Salary Facts
Post by: Beermonkey on August 24, 2005, 12:18:58 PM
With all the talk about the Eagles not wanting to pay their players that I've been reading & hearing the last few weeks, I thought it would be interesting to see where their player salary costs stood in relation to the other teams in 2004.

While players & fans sometimes disagree with the contract values placed on individual players, I think the myth that they are "cheap" is a fallacy.

NFLPA:2004 Omnibus In-Season Salary Averages & Salary Trends (http://www.nflpa.org/PDFs/Shared/2004_In-Season_Omnibus_Salary_Averages_&_Salary_Trends_January_2005.pdf)

Total Player Salary Expenditures:  2nd   $105 million

#1 are the Skins @  $117 million
Average Team Player Salary Costs:  $83.7 million

Player Salary Average - Starters: 3rd  $76 million

#1 Texans @ $79 mill
#2 Jets @ $78 mill

Average is $56 mill
