Well, hello there.
Once again we meet up in a meaningless game.
I'm bored, and there's a lot of youse Eagles fans with knowlegable opinions and the like....so let's get this thing going.
What should I expect from Philly? Who should I keep an eye out for?
I guess I'm just looking for analysis....Ill give you mine soon.
You should feel so lucky....we're unwrapping David "Holdout" Pollack for your (and mine) personal enjoyment as well.
Ryan Moats...pay close attention.
Terrell Owens.
;D

It's nice that Big Red gives Mahe some time out of consideration for his effort, but I would rather see Moats in after Westy takes a seat. But back on topic, also look for The Freak and Mike Patterson to be paying Carson Palmer a visit.
I've been watching the Bengals (picked up Palmer as my second QB in my fantasy league), you guys look primed for a playoff run.
Odell Thurmon has looked like a great pickup so far for the Bengals.
Look for Reggie Brown to show his former mates, Pollack and Thurman that he landed in a better situation. ;D
Looking forward for Eags secondary to contend w/decent reciever (Chad's)Johnson. I hope starters only get like 1 or 2 drives no farging injuries neccesary
Who should I keep an eye out for?

Yes that is a five-head my friend... ;D
Fair enough.
Alright, here's my teams analysis, starting with..
Offense
QB-Look for Carson took get an early rapport with Chad Johnson, and also to increase his completion percentage. In the off=season, CP lost about 10 or so pounds, and it became evident the was more nimble than before, scrambling a few times for some good pickups. (Although there was a scare with his knee brace)
After CP leaves the field, we bypass Kitna and go directly to our battle for the #3 spot with Casey Bramlet and Craig Krenzel. Bramlet is physically more gifted than Krenzel, but Krenzel has smarts, tenacity, toughness other intangibles you like to see in your QB. I guess it comes down to whoever can move the offense down the field and eliminate turnovers, but then, that's the job description for ANY QB.
RB- Yeah, I hear all this talk about Ryan Moats and Brian Westbrook. How about I counter with Rudi Johnson and Chris Perry. Thunder and Lightning. James Brooks and Ickey Woods part duex. Rudi is our prototypical bruising back required in the AFCN division, while Chris Perry has the speed, hands, and agility to give our offense another look/dimension. Don't be suprised if you see both in the backfield, or Rudi in the backfield with Perry lined up in the slot. This is gonna be a one-two punch that will be difficult to stop.
Kenny Watson is a great third string back and always come through in the clutch whenever needed.
WR- 7/11 and gang come to Lincoln Memorial. This is arguably our strongest corp on our football team.
The Oregon State Beaver duo lines up to start the game. Expect to see a healthy dose of Peter Warrick as he attempts to prove himself worthy of a roster spot or trade bait maybe. (I hear youse guys could use a WR)
Chris Henry will get a few opportunities to shine and display his ability. CJ, TJ and Henry are about the only locks on this team, everyone else is up for grabs. Squirrel Washington and Kevin Walter should see considerable amounts of time as well.
O-Line
Stacy gets to meet up with his brother for a while (at least after the game). Look for them to hit a steakhouse restraurant in Philly near you. Seriously, this dude is for real. Is playing well enough to start in place of Willie Anderson while he recouperates from surgery, and will be the first Tackle to be utilized if either Levi Jones or Big Willie go down. Eric Steinbach has fully recovered from tommy john surgery, and I'm sure you guys know about Bobbie Williams already. Our center will be manned alternately, by Richie Braham and the rookie Guy-Check.
get the eff outta here with that crap...the bengals dont exist in ohio much less philadelphia
care factor=negative 149
I had to take a break after that first one.
Alright, now I break down the defense.
D-Line
Robert Geathers, I think you guys remember him, is now our starting LDE. He hasn't disappointed so far either.
Extremely athletic, and bats down passes left and right.
Our new DT, Bryan Robinson allows John Thornton to move over and focus more on rushing the passer.
Justin Smith moves over to RDE to strengthen against the run.
LBLed by Mr. Overrated himself, Brian Simmons. This is a VERY promising corp. Odell Thurman is playing better than I anticipated. He's real fun to watch. Flying all over the field and landing very solid tackles. Landon Johnson, is going back to his natural position at OLB. Man, if that's his natural position, I expect him to be a Pro Bowler soon, especially after the rookie season that he had. He will definitely give Pollack a run for his money, and doesnt look to relinquish the spot anytime soon. No matter, Pollack will still get on the field. Chuck, our DC, called Pollack our 'Joker' of the defense, which basically means he will be lined up all over the field, and will be used to rush the passer and a variety of things. It is because of him that we will be able to disguise our D, whether its 4-3 or an occaisonal 3-4. These four will be the basis of our LB'ing squad.
Secondary
Deltha O'Neal and Tory James hold us down on the corners for right now, but expect Keiwan Ratliff to push them both for playing time. He is definitely our Nickel back, and will most likely be doing PR duties during the season.
Madieu Williams is another promising guy to watch. I forsee a annual battle between he, Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu for the title of best safety in our division. And thats not even counting Sean Jones and Brodney Pool of the Stains.
Our one glaring weakness is at SS, where Kim Herring looks to have the inside track on the spot. Might have a rotation situation with Kevin Kasevieharn, and Anthony Mitchell.
Whew.....Im done.

Thanks for the update also. I really don't know much about the Bengals & have a least a decent idea of what to expect.
Also, don't expect any leniency for spelling errors or redundency here. :)
Perry has a chance to be a quality player in the league, but talking about splitting him out and comparisons to Westbrook in that regard are slightly ridiculous.

Comparisons between the teams are silly and they play in different conferences. People here aren't really going to ever care too much about your team.

Ah, touche. I get the point. I appreciate the thinly veiled hint. I guess you might as well DELETE the whole farging thread then.
Maybe.
It wasn't even like I was spouting about Bengals stuff all the time. I would usually add my comment to one of the subjects and somewhere down the line muthafargers would freak out like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON A EAGLES BOARD?!?! RAH RAH-rabblerouse-yak yak yak." If it wasn't that, I was the victim of numerous quotes, and witty, yet callous remarks. And for what? Am I not allowed to comment on things that happen with your team?
Who gives a farg what team I like? Sometimes I would think, is it THAT serious, but apparently it is.
And that why I'm like 'farg Hector'.

And I suppose that if I was in your conference, or say, maybe a taterskins, Giants or Cowboys fan, you'd suddenly roll out the red carpet? Cmon now. It detracts from your statement even more. How's about you just go with a blanket statement and say that you don't care about any team except your own? I'd respect you a lot more for that one, and It makes sense. I dont really care much about the Eagles either, this is just something I do to pass time.

We are interested in a brief scouting report of the team we are going against, and which pieces of your team will test our players so that we can see their progress or lack of. We aren't intersted in your team though, they are as irrelavent as the Browns, Drew Carey, and your entire state. Is there a Bengals site messageboard we can invade and talk shtein about the iggles? Fixed.
well TO has had his "groin injury" for a long time now. Back in San Fran it was an issue and he wouldnt practice much during the week and then get an injection to play in the game. It's nothing new. So tell your Falcon friends TO will still light them up with an injury.

here's a taste of why the Falcons will beat the Eagles on 9/12....
Quoteexactly. i dont think vick will throw more than 1 interception, if that many, he wont fumble the ball either, no matter how hard brian dawkins can hit. as long as shaffer and weiner block the fast ends the eagles have, we should be fine, and if we have to keep a back to block kearse, im fine with that, as long as vick has time to throw to the open man. and there is no way in he** that westbrook will do anything, and, when you guys are inside the 5, i dont think you will come away with six, westbrook? no. fb? yea right. mcnabb qb sneak? you wish.
the only thing you could do, is throw to a double covered TO in the endzone.
and theres no way scott drops that pick in this game.
noooooooooooo way.
i say, falcons win 17-14.

QuoteWhy Atlanta will win Monday Night 9/12/05:
You first have to look at why we lost the NFCCG in the first place:
1. Turnovers
2. Missed opportunities
3. No run defense
For the Iggles to have "dominated" us the score was only 14-10 at half time which should have been 14-14 but once again we only get 3 when we are inside the 5. Too many times we had McNabb sacked for him to escape and find the open receiver. Dont expect for this Front 4 to miss opportunities like that come 9/12/05. Dont expect Scott to drop an easy interception that could have went for 6. Dont expect Westbrook to get over 70 yards rushing. And dont expect us to get inside the 5 and not come away with 6. And you also must realize THE GAME IS IN ATLANTA. The dome was one of the toughest places to play last year. This team is soo much better at home than on the road. Falcons win 27-24. I have nothing to contribute.
i dont see anything wrong with that...certainly no more homerish than much of the stuff from this very board

LMFAO Is this guy 15? If Deion can sack Vick then you can damn sure bet we can. SInce when did the Falcons D become such a force? I guess Ike Reese was the saviour that's the only explanation. What makes this guy and Woody Paige think the Falcons are so good? They have to prove it. They haven't done squat yet. Vick is the Danica Patrick/Michelle Wie/Freddy Adou of the NFL. I sure hope he can stay healthy and his herpe meds don't have side affects.
Don't expect jack squat Alantian till your team proves anything than the ability to dance bad.

I like how this guy completely leaves out the fact that they mustered less than 125 yards through the air against us and that we had Vick so perfectly game-planned that he couldn't even get out of the pocket.

the same guy who posted the other stuff i had above had this to say when i told him that Vick would have trouble finding open recievers in the Eagles pro-bowl secondary. he said this:
Quoteuhhh...What in the heebeeegeezeees are you talking about that no one can get open in your secondary?! Didn't alge crumpler catch a pass in your secondary last year? Havent ANY of pittsburgh recievers caught nay passes against your secondary? How come quarterbacks have passing yards and completions against your team.

And you also must realize THE GAME IS IN ATLANTA. The dome was one of the toughest places to play last year. This team is soo much better at home than on the road. Falcons win 27-24
See what I deal with on a daily basis? Welcome to my world, Sun. :boom
My God... it's gonna be a good time in the Dome the night of the 12th! :evil
In an article in today's paper regarding TO playing tonight....
QuoteYesterday, as reporters milled about the locker room following coach Andy Reid's announcement that both T.O. and left offensive tackle Tra Thomas will make their preseason debuts, Owens actually slipped his ubiquitous headphones off for a while, and was smiling and interacting with several teammates. When a reporter approached, the headphones quickly went back on and the expression went blank.
:-D :-D :-D
If someone accidentally tore TO's tongue out of his head, would he still be able to run routes and catch passes?
We should look into that.

The point was...he said nothing.
And MY point is that if he was completely incapable of ever saying anything ever again I would be exceptionally happy.

Alright then, point taken.
I found it funny that he was hanging out with the team and smiling and then went totally blank for the media. I can actually picture that scene.
Important question:
What will TO's celebration be whn he scores tonight?
My three guesses are...
1. The sit-ups again to remind us of the Moorestown Circus
2. He scores...and then acts like he is counting money
3. He scores...and then acts like he is pulling out his pockets to show he's poor

Personally? I don't think he does anything like the money stuff. He knows that's going to lead to a big time problem with AR.

i think Donovan runs up to him, they have a stare down for 15 seconds, and then they hug and celebrate together, finally giving up the clever rouse they've been carrying on this whole time (see: Lawler v Kauffman)

I have a three year old nephew who carries around an old blanket, and when he doesn't want to talk or is upset, he covers his head with it, so he is "invisible". Seems T.O has the same mentality. Which is fine, because I want T.O talking about as much as I want to hear my nephew babbling.
ive been told this game in on the nfl network tonight at 2
is this true???
edit: it is

I understand Roy Williams is looking for another signature tackle to take the place of the horsecollar. Maybe he'll start grabbing people by the tongue to bring em down.
I always knew Williams was gay.

Yeah but Freddie didn't score TDs like TO. If Freddie was that productive I'd have been able to ignore a lot more of his shtein.

Of course he didnt score like TO, they called his number a fraction of the time and hardly at all anywhere near the red zone (his 2 receptions in the red zone last year were both TDs).
Feddie was productive
when he got the ball but since they put him to the side when he got off to a slow start and pissed some people off with his (off the field) mouth, he never got the chance.
Now with a whole new team, coach, system, and injury, it may too late for him to turn it around.
3.5 hours and counting

There's a reason WHY he got put off to the side too. Mainly he kept running the wrong routes.
Now with a new team all he does is talk about the Eagles even though he's halfway across the country.
Fred Barnett says, "Don't boo TO...he's here and playing"
Methinks that was a bit of a shot to Simon. ;)

Does he think this is the farging WWF or something? He must be just great to have as a teamate.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll do the jump ball drill later. I've got to work on "The Widow Maker."
