Christ, can you imagine the uproar if that happened here?  Not a whole lot of due process in shooting a subdued guy in the back 5 times.

QuoteHe challenged police and refused to obey orders before he was shot and killed Friday morning, Blair said Friday.

If that is true then he certainly got hit hard with the stupid tax. Certainly everyone's jumpy over there right now. This does become a case where the terrorists are winning one way or another at the moment.

I can understand the actions of both sides. The Brazilian saw plainclothes guys running at him with guns in a high-crime neighborhood. The cops see a guy from a house they've been monitoring run from them, leap over turnstiles and dive onto a subway train.

Bad series of coincidences leading to this tragedy.

Thats all i need to know. Tough shtein. Challenge or flee from police, and your rolling the dice. You can't win with women or cops, so humor them, and live thru it. It sucks, but thats life right now. I don't wanna see an Orwellian society, but right now you have to realize the strain everyone is under.

I agree to a point. Without knowing all the specifics, if a group of guys started running at me with drawn guns the last thing I'd do is stand around and wait for them to get to me. If they were wearing London police garb that's a different story, but it's not specified in the article whether they were plain clothed or in uniforms.

They were plain clothes. I don't know if they flashed badges.

This story has a taste of frenzy to it that scares me almost as much as tje 'do as the cops say or you deserve to be executed on site' arguments which some people use to defend it.

All the same..I take your point well Reidme.  Fear and obey or else is a compelling argument.  I'm scared of cops, I admit it.

Pinning a man to the ground and then shooting him five times. The war on terrorism is officially awesome.

In front of a trainload of witnesses, no less.

If they were so sure the guy was dangerous..why even let him on the bus he took to get to the train station?
