Title: Jimmy Buffett
Post by: Don Ho on April 26, 2005, 04:52:56 AM
I just saw that Jimmy Buffett will be in concert at Citizens Bank Ball Park August 25 & 27.  We just saw him in Honolulu last Tuesday.  Awesome show.  We had such a blast.  If you're a fan and like his music his concert is a must.  Third time I've seen him here since 1986.  His show gets better every year and seeing him in an outdoor venue is what it is all about.  Have they had concerts at Citizens Bank Park yet?   Also saw he'll be performing at Wrigley Field over Labor Day.

You've given me no vital information. I need to know how easy the women are at these shows. Beer, alcohol, or roofies?

Hard to tell as my 8 year old son and wife were present, but!! there was a lot of eye candy.

A few years ago, I happened to drive through the Merriweather Post Pavillion grounds the day after a Buffett concert (I was picking up tickets for another event). The place looked like a friggin' war zone.

I would like to see Jimmy perform once before I die.

My dad took us to see Buffett every year for years. Then when I was in college, I went with my friends. My dad still goes. Our wedding reception playlist included 2 Buffett songs...just for him. :)

Why don't we get Drunk  (the happy couple and guess alike)
Fins (For the naive teenage cousin from Ohio who comes to the big city to be a bridesmaid).

Both of you are wrong.

Volcano (by way of CD)
Margaritaville (because the band played it)

Why Volcano????  I sorta thought Margarittaville, but why Volcano?  Fins is a better song then Volcano...Come Monday is the 'romantic' Buffet song...and his only #1 hit.

Because I don't care about what was a hit or not. Volcano is a fun song that we had them play while we were eating dessert.

I hate Fins and Come Monday? We didn't need a romantic song, we already had those played. Buffett isn't my idea of "romantic". lol

Didn't say he was 'romantic'...just that Come Monday is his attempt.  I just think Fins would be more fun then Volcano for the 'dance' moves involved....

I thought maybe "Cheeseburger in Paradise" would have been a good dinner selection.   :-D

We had so much dance music already, we needed music to be played while we all ate and stuff. Volcano was perfect.

:)

PS...I just heard it on the radio too. LOL

PG I knew I liked you!  My son insists I play Volcano every time we get in the car.  Great song to start the day.

Most of the weed-smokers I know admit to only liking Jimmy Buffett after they've smoked cheap-o grass.  After they smoke the good stuff, that high won't even allow them to like his stuff enough to enjoy a whole concert.

And just forget it if you're not high in the first place.

My dad went last night and said that it was TOO big. Compared to all of the years at the Mann and E-Center, it was just too many people, there weren't the "lawn seats" like those 2 venues had, etc. He didn't enjoy it as much as he has in all of the past however many years.

Just a heads up.

Party on!

I agree with your dad PG.  I saw him twice before in Hawaii at the same venue but when he was here in April it was at the same venue which holds about 7500, I swear they packed well over 10,000.  Way to many people.  I was bummin' out at first but once the show got going I was fine - and I was "stone" sober.

I went to the thurs night show....not nearly as good as a venue with a 'lawn'.  But I knew that going in...stadium concerts usually suck.
