Agreed. Maybe it's just because it was a Stallone movie that wasn't quite so action packed. Pretty much everything he's done other than Rocky has had lots of action, explosions, etc.
Other than Rocky, my favorite Stallone movie was probably The Specialist. Although that may have something to do with Sharon Stone's nudity in the movie. :drool

ahhahaha, niice!
:-D :-D True, but most of his movies are focused on violence, action etc. Good acting isn't a pre requisite for just about anything he's done besides Rocky. It's funny because typically as an actor matures and gains experience, he gets better and better as an actor (Tom Hanks is a great example). Stallone portrayed Rocky brilliantly but kind of "dumbed himself down" in basically everything since then.
You are correct!!

QuoteSylvester Stallone Set For 'Rocky 6'
Shooting Set To Begin In December, Online Magazine Says
POSTED: 5:24 pm EDT October 13, 2005
Sylvester Stallone will put on the gloves and climb back into the ring for "Rocky 6," according to Production Weekly.
Stallone will write, direct and star in the sixth installment, the online magazine reports.
Production Weekly said the synopsis of the film is as follows:
"Lonely and at loose ends, retired boxer Rocky Balboa comes out of retirement, intending to fight a few low-profile local fights just to keep his hand in. But when he's approached to fight a match with reigning heavyweight champ Mason 'The Line' Dixon, Rocky's modest little comeback becomes the center of a media firestorm."
Shooting is set to begin in December in Los Angeles.

QuoteSylvester Stallone is sparring with boxing champ Roy Jones Jr. because he wants the fighter to sign up for his Rocky VI movie. The movie star wants the heavyweight champ to play fictional champion Mason 'The Line' Dixon in the film, which Stallone will write, direct and star in. Meanwhile, Stallone has an initial title for his sixth Rocky film - Rocky Balboa. Shooting is scheduled to begin in December in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the film is slated to be released next November. The movie star insists Rocky fans will see a few familiar faces in the movie: "People that were in the first movie, that you didn't think much about, are back - really minor characters are now major characters."

If I were making the film, I'd plant all kinds of rumors like that (everyone's idea of a crappy Rocky sequel), as well as make the trailer like that. Then the movie would be totally different: Rocky teams up with space aliens to battle giant ants. Talia Shire has a musical number about her career never making it out of the 70s. The second half is in Aramaic. A fifteen minute stretch of hardcore pornography. Just pull out all the stops to make the worst, most absurd movie ever and slap "Rocky VI" on it.
Add cameos by pseudolebrities with no acting talent and you've got yourself a classic in the making.

ESPN Hollywood has reported that Antonio Tarver is slated for the role of Mason Dixon in the new movie "Rocky Balboa." Despite rumors that Roy Jones Jr. had the part, Tarver claims on camera, "You're looking at Mason Dixon. I'm the heavyweight champion of the world and unfortunately Rocky's got to come back to see me. ..I want to dispel a rumor Roy Jones may be in the film. We will need folks to knock out along the way but that's the biggest part he'll get, ha ha.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On shoot date: "I believe we're gonna go around December 1st. I believe that's gonna happen. Very very aware that start date is a real possibility."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On filming: "We are doing this reality style. We'll be filming in Las Vegas the weekend of the Jermaine Taylor Hopkins fight after they jump off the scale, we'll jump on, after they do their presser, then we'll do ours."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On his 10-year friendship with Sylvester Stallone: "He's the director, he wrote the film so he told me he wrote it with me in mind, that's a big compliment."

I'm sure a champ like Tarver will enjoy getting pretend-beaten by a 60 year old on a widely-distributed movie.
