The 3rd annual Eagles mock contest works much like the first round mock contest does.
Anyone who wants to participate must submit a full Eagles mock draft.
The eagles current draft slots are as follows (round, overall pick in the draft):
1. 28
2. 58
3. 89
4. 129
4. 131
6. 179
6. 186
7. 217
7. 242
7. 243
- The mock must be messaged to me through the board IM by 11:59 pm the night before draft day. I wont accept them after that.
- If you submit a draft to me and a major trade takes place involving the EAGLES picks, you can submit a new draft by the above date. If there are no trades there are no new drafts accepted.
- The mock may have any trades you want to make. Yes the Eagles could draft #1 overall if you want them too.
- winner gets their name on the champs list and bragging rights (and if your like Thawk, you will love to abuse that :afro). I might throw in an old Eagles card worth 1 cent, if your lucky.
Scoring is as follows:
Correct draft slot, correct player = 10 pts
Correct player, Wrong draft slot = 6 pts
Wrong player, correct position = 2 pts
examples:
1. The Eagles pick #28 in the first round. If you have them selecting Kevin Jones at #28 in the first round and they do, you get 10 points for the correct player at the correct slot.
2. If you have them selecting Kevin Jones at #28, and the eagles trade up and draft Jones you get 6 points. You had the correct player, but the wrong draft slot.
If you have the eagles drafting Jones in the 1st round, and they draft him in the 2nd round, you would also get 6 points. Once again you selected a correct player, but the wrong draft slot.
3. You get 2 points for correctly selecting the position in a round. For instance, if you had the Eagles selecting Jones in the 1st round, but they selected a different RB in the 1st round you get 2 points. You didnt select the correct player, but you correctly guessed the positon of the player they drafted in that round. (in this example it was RB).
TieBreaker will be whomever has more perfect picks (10 pointers). If its still a tie it will be whomever has more 6 pointers. If its still a tie it goes to whomever had the highest perfect pick. ( a 10 point 1st round pick would beat out a 2nd round 10 point pick). If its still a tie after that... too bad.
any questions or things that need to be cleared up post it here. thanks.
6th (179th overall) from GB last year
6th (186th overall) our own
7th (217th overall) our own

No problemo, bro. ;)
This'll be exciting. We'll get to see who the next Mel Kiper Jr. is. :-D
I'm in.
Man.....now I'm really starting to get psyched for the draft....and the schedule comes out soon and minicamp and fantasy drafts and training camp, and the season and the playoffs and the birds winning the superbowl :drool :drool :drool
sorry...got too excited
I'll throw one together closer to the draft. What was the winning point total last year?
here is last years eagles contest. link (http://www.concretefield.com/board/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=7422)
mikey ended up winning after i fixed the scoring. I guess the final score was 18 by Mikey. That was an odd one.
Dang... getting L.J. and McMullen correct... that's impressive.
Yeah...I'm good...although I missed the spot LJ was going to get picked at and didn't see the McDougle trade...even tho no one did.

Yeah, nevermind. You suck. :)
Maybe this contest will help me redeem myself for the "bracketology experiment" that went horribly wrong. 8)
I'll give it a go, when I get some time.
Count me in too.

yep...get another one horribly wrong and your rep will be set.
where as i am just looking to finish middle of the road. to solidify my standing. although i am screwing that up right now sitting #1 in the baseball league that you can never update your roster. ::)
I'm working on a couple mocks, one with the Birds trading up, one with them trading down into the 2nd round and getting more picks, is that allowed?
Glad I don't have time to think about this thing this year...the mock drafts are going to be a train wreck with all the wrangling going on. ;)
Whoever gets 4-5 picks right is going to win it this year, IMO.
Are there any bonus points awarded if you call a move-up trade correctly?

You'll be getting both of mine by 3pm ;D
I'm ready to go throw myself into goddamn oncoming traffic!! I'm am stumped. I don't even know where to begin. Are we trading up, are we not.
This draft is the first one in along time where we cold go in any direction for the most part. And the indecision I'm going through is killing me.
I'll get mine into you later today. I'm going to go back and re-do my NFL 1st rounder and then post up pictures of the prospects, blindfold myself and then shoot darts and see what I come up with. :bash
I must have changed my mock over 100 times...this surely is the toughest one to peg....there's only a few 'sure' bets and even those aren't guarenteed.... :boom
shtein, it took me like 20 minutes to decide on the first two teams/player combo's.
My best bet is going to be hitting on the slots where the players go, not with what team picks them.
That's why im predicting no trades and sticking with BPA theory for the birds. ;D
I sent mine in and it is a mess. I feel mo' betta about my NFL mock than my Eagles one. It is tough to predict who will go where this year.

just to clarify the 2 pointers...
the correct positon must be selected for that particular pick to get 2 points.
so if the Eagles take a QB in the 7th round with their last pick, you wouldnt get 2 points if you had them taking a QB with the first pick in the 7th round. You would get 2 points if they take a QB with the first pick in the 7th round and you had them doing that. hope that makes sense. This is to clear up the rounds in which the Eagles have more than one pick.
If my math is correct.. (it was wrong last year) the new Eagles mock champ is PhillyPhreak. Phreak and Troy were the only guys to even have a guy the Eagles selected. Here is how it played out..
Phillyphreak got 2 points for a CB in the 3rd round. Got 2 points for a CB with the second pick of the 6th round. Got 6 points for selecting Trey Darilek. Total=10 points.
Troy got 2 points for a QB with the first pick of the 6th round. Got 6 points for Dexter Wynn. Total=8 points.
everyone else had between 0-4 points.
Phreak! Congrats! :D
WooHoo! ;D
Oh so close.... :-[
Congrats Phreak
Congrats dude, you're the best among a bunch of less-than-12-point entries! That's like being the best public school in Texas!
