Because you can get it.

ice grillin you

thats my point...why do all teams give up so much for it if its at best equal to or maybe even worse than the pick they presently own
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

It may not be a detriment, but its far from a sure thing either. There have been plenty of team-changing players drafted first, but there have been just as many mediocre players or all-out busts that teams are then locked into paying that have set teams back. Think Atlanta wishes that it had drafted LT and Drew Brees instead of Michael Vick?

Dallas has a good team, so they are in a position to do something like this. Fine. But giving up a proven (pro-bowl) running back and your two top picks for a big ass question mark is risky as shtein.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Rome

Two #1's & Barber for McFadden is stupid.  Like Herschel Walker stupid.

Just going off what I know from watching so many drafts teams think taking a RB with the #1 pick is a big waste.

Why would Miami want Barber anyway?  He and Ronnie Brown are basically the same RB...

With 2 good knees.

Don't forget Easy, Barber is a Parcells guy and he's got a solid history of bringing former players with him every time he moves.

Julius and Thomas Jones are each about half of a star NFL running back.  Maybe Julius was some leftover embryo or something.

then sign Julius Jones

I don't think Julius was a Parcells draft pick, was he?

Especially in a year with so many top flight RBs available.

Barber + 2 first round draft picks is WAY too much to give up for a rookie who could turn out to be Curtis Enis. Which is exactly why I hope Dallas makes the trade.

i didn't even read the article, barber + 2 1sts is retarded, yes.

1977 through 1981 -- 4 of the 5 years had RBs taken #1 overall

Since then, there's been only two: Bo Jackson and Ki-Jana Carter....and those worked out so great

It doesn't stop teams from taking them in the top 10 though:

2007 = Peterson (7)
2006 = Bush (2)
2005 = Brown (2), Benson (4), Cadillac (5)
2001 = Tomlinson (5)
2000 = Jamal Lewis (5), Thomas Jones (7)
1999 = Edgerrin James (4), Ricky Williams (5)
1998 = Enis (5), Fred Taylor (9)
1996 = Phillips (6), Biakabutuka (8 )
1994 = Faulk (2)
1993 = Hearst (3), Bettis (10)
1992 = Touchdown Tommy Vardell (ha) (9)
1990 = Blair Thomas (2)
1989 = Barry Sanders (3), Tim Worley (7), Sammie Smith (9)
1987 = Alonzo Highsmith (3), Brent Fullwood (4)
1986 = Byars (10)
1983 = Dickerson (2), Curt Warner (3), Michael Haddix (8 )
1982 = Darrin Nelson (7), Gerald Riggs (9), Marcus Allen (10)

SunMo

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.
