Is anyone else here creeped out by the whole Lebron/ESPN thing? It's disturbing to me that ESPN would get into bed so completely with a single player like they have. Whatever happened to just reporting the news rather than arranging for it to happen beforehand?

Yep - they did the same thing with Woods when he came out and did his "news" conference and subsquent five question interview.

If I'm a journalist I insist on no pre-conditions or I pass on the interview. The moment a journalist or news organization permits their subjects to impose and/or dictate pre-conditions, it becomes a fluff piece, not a legitimate interview.
