How can teams afford to pay so much for these players?  I see regular season games with lots of empty seats.  Do they sell so much merchandise that these prices are possible?  They must make a ton of money overseas as well, right?

He's not bad for a back-up to Nelson.  Getting out of New York might just be what the doctor ordered.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Los Angeles
Denver
Dallas
Oklahoma

New Orleans (Maybe if it was 2 seasons ago)
Portland (Not a force to be reckoned with)
Houston (Yeah right)
Sacremento (Evans plus what army?)
Phoenix (minus Amare)
UTAH (no Boozer)
San Antonio (Father Time)
Clippers (Hello)
Golden State (Seriously?)

Did I miss anyone? Lakers should be looking forward to another appearance at the Finals next season barring injuries.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Take it fwiw but Jared Dudley (Suns) is good friends with Amare Stoudemire and says Lebron is headed to the Knicks.

He's doing the presser from Greenwich, Connecticut... not exactly a suburb of Cleveland or Miami.

He can make the most money as a player in Cleveland, and possibly be beloved by playing his whole career with one team.
He can play with other elite players in Miami and possibly win a championship, but would have to share the glory (and the money).
He will get caked off on endorsements and live the dream in New York, even if the team continues to suck.

So, he probably will go to the Knicks.
