I'm with rjs and Sarge. The only place I do care about a 'decent' room is Vegas.

New Orleans, not so much. Three steps to Harrah's. 20 steps to Bourbon street. Good enough for me.

What a fun city. I can't wait until next year. Didn't get to see the WWII museum and a bunch of other things.

Any of you degenerates in Vegas right now?  I'm here until Friday.

hbionic

No, but you can drive south for 3.5 hours and come say hi.

Just came back from a weekend in Utah.

Went to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon.

If you haven't been to these places before...don't die until you have had a chance to walk through these places.

The desert landscape of Utah helps you imagine what it would have been like in the old west.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'd go back to Utah in a heart beat.

*Please note alcohol has a lower alcohol content and places close early.

Apparently that's all gone now. When I was there in 2005, it wasn't necessary if Applebees was selling you beer or something, but if a bar had liquor there was some small fee tacked onto your tab for temporarily joining the "club". For a local that drinks at the same place repeatedly over the course of a year, there was some ridiculously high fee and a different form to fill out at every bar.

It was still way easier to buy beer in the supermarkets than in PA, though. Beer distributor campaign donations are stronger than any religion.

hbionic

The beers can't have any more than 3.5% alcohol by volume...and you have to eat at meal in order to be served at a restaurant.

Wasn't aware of the bar membership.

We hit Arches last summer, gonna be hitting them all this summer.

Did you do the Narrows walk in Zion?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

We didn't. We had a couple of little ones with us, but we know we missed out. But we will go back and do the narrows for sure.

We also want to do Antelope Canyon in Arizona near the grand canyon.

We want to do the rest of Utah including Arches.

So beautiful. Words can't describe it.
