That was a great 3rd strike. wtf Ed?

Wingspan, he was topping out at 94-95 in Clearwater. That's why he was deemed fit to come back.

although, that was a seriously great strikeout pitch right there.

i didnt see it but both phillie radio guys said it was a terrible call

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Wingspan

I dont care what he was doing vs single A minor leaguers in march, or in a simulated inning, it's meaningless.

One of the knocks on Lidge leaving houston was that he's gun-shy now, and the lack of velocity is not a good sign. he barely hit 93 no more than 1 time in that inning.

I thought it was a great pitch...and you're not going to see me homer it up for Brad Lidge.

But whatever. I've seen zesty pitches called strikes a million times....I thought this was a solid pitch.

You're the one who said that he needs to be back in Clearwater...I'm telling you what he was doing there.

The lack of velocity is due to one of two things...

1) he needs more conditioning
2) he's still shellshocked.

An extended spring training would eliminate or confirm #1

He's not going back on the DL or to the minors for a rehab assignment no matter how many times you post it.  He's gotta work things out with the big club because (1) they're paying him a shteinload of money, and (2) they don't have anyone else.

They had a good closer last year, I wonder where he wound up?

He could be in relief if they'd signed Lohse.

QuoteLidge bounced a wild pitch that let in a run, then got Javier Valentin on a 95 mph called third strike to end it.
