I buy that theory. I think Hardens legit hurt but it's probably a 2 week heal up that doc or someone convinced him to take a month so he's fresh for the rest of the season. This is where Jo needs to stop sulking and become a leader.

But for the last 2 weeks or so I have not been able to sit through an entire game. Becoming a bandwagon Phillies fan was fun for a month and a nice distraction, but these fargin losers just could not give two shteins about playing good basketball. Other than Maxey who is amazing.
Firing Doc and making Cassell coach might give them a little spurt of motivation for a bit, but it's gonna be the same losers who don't care.

Harden has been excellent. The big if is whether he can play like this in the playoffs which has has rarely done, but up until now, he's done everything and more than they could have asked for him.

This is 100% correct. It shouldn't be so important to a former MVP who's been in the league 15 years but his whole game over the last few months is dictated by the first 2-3 minutes of the game. I was broken on Thursday night so yesterday doesn't even phase me. They had their shot - Celtics looked sad and depressed Game 5 and most of Game 6 - all Sixers needed to do was buck up and step on their throats. Yeah I think it's both. They have had the perfect players around him like Jimmy, could have had Bridges, etc., and that's obviously on management, but Embiid is turning into the new Harden with his pathetic playoff performances. And lucky for us we had the top two playoff losers on the same team.

As I steamed about this today I realized what's even worse than the loss is that if Sixers just showed any kind of heart and won game 6, they would have changed the entire trajectory of Tatums career. He was complete trash for about 10 straight quarters until q4 of game 6.

Myslef and all of us make fun of and lose our shtein over these teams and dislike certain players, coaches, FO's but it is safe to say 99% of this board hates the sixers right now, just pure dislike. I am still very much a fan of Embiid and Maxey. Everyone else involved with the franchise I regard the same as I regard the Flyers. The entire franchise will likely reach Flyers status when they trade Embiid and go back to winning 35 games on the regular.
A Sixers ring would mean more to me than any of the sports but it's just too painful lately. How can one team be near the top of "good teams" yet still have a 0% chance of winning it all. It's pretty impressive. I almost wish for the process years again. The Ben and now Harden debacles have just sucked all of their juice. Feel bad for Jojo and Maxey, instead of a fun media day they have to talk about Harden all day.
The list of colossal personnel blunders this team has made over the past decade is pretty impressive.
Even if they had just taken Jimmy Buckets (who is now channeling his inner Andre 2000 for some reason) their entire course would have been different.

How Maxey continues to get better is just incredible. He's improved in very aspect of his game every single year. More than anything his shot is just so good now and we have enough of a sample size that's it's not a fluke.
I really hope Harden doesn't play one second in a Sixers jersey this year. First off that means Maxey just sits around while Harden dribbles between his legs until there's 4 sec left on shot clock. Secondly, in the grand scheme of things, this team is a solid 4-6 seed with or without him. They're going to beat the raptors and blazers and scrubs, and going to lose to the bucks and Celtics regardless if he plays or not.
Might as well start getting some chemistry sooner rather than later. The way they move out there under Nurse - cutting to the basket <gasp>, running actual plays - is just night and day from Doc's offense.
Maxey's play has to have given the Sixers leverage with Harden and also put him on notice that he ain't needed.
Hopefully they find someone to off-load him to.
That's my worry, that Harden finally realizes it's not 2018 and decides to try to play nice.

I don't disagree a player better and more consistent than Tobi is probably needed - but re: Batum, he's the best role player they've had in a decade. He does everything well. a really good percentage of seats for every game are available on the secondary market. some are general fans, most are professional brokers. its a part of the game. the teams know. you can do the math and figure out why so many ny fans were there. you can get mad online about it or understand its simple economics.
