predictions:
cowboys home snf
2 mnf
50/50 on an additional snf game
tnf against nyg/wsh
doug said they requested to stay out west for 2 games
usually the league makes that happen, so id expect it to, you know, happen
So Seattle/LA btb then another trip back to the rotten crotch of chuggieville?
Yay?
they probably requested the 2 LA games together but will settle for sea/la im sure.

LA for two games in a row would be perfect. Not for the PTO I don't have, nor for the bank account. But I would still love to go.
Yeah I'd love to do an LA trip.
They'll be in Vegas in 2021...too damn long
So Cal would be a great road trip, the only thing that sucks is the Chargers game will be held at the equivalent of a junior college stadium in the fact it holds like 27K and the LA Coliseum is a shtein hole, the facility and the crowd

And you know those two home games will be on a Thursday at 7:30 PM.
you can probably also jot down with confidence that alshon jeffery will probably miss them all with a training camp injury

the miami game will....the phils are at home all week but have an afternoon thursday game.
the buffalo game can be anytime since the phils are away. saturday would create the best market and give me the most money back, so hopefully its that.
this is the first time i can ever remember the eagles playing at home in weeks 2 and 3
going back forever the eagles have played one sat preseason game at home but i dont think you can use that as a reason why they wont this year because because that one sat was just two years ago
while im sure they would always prefer to avoid the phils its not like its super rare that they dont play together....its happened at least 3-4 times in the last i dont know decade id say
also buffalo wont be friday cause of a wells fargo concert so thurs or sat for that....thursday is a big leader in the clubhouse just because of history but theres no reason it couldnt be saturday other than like i said its only happened once that i can ever remember
Paralysis by analysis!
im pretty sure the phils and eagles have never played at the same time. not that 60k show up for preseason but they have to plan as if they will...same goes for the phils getting 45k. they cant handle over 100k people down there at the same time.
im not sure if the concert (20k tops) will prohibit a friday game...the question will be if doug wants to mimic a preparation week. since the 3rd game is a thursday, does he want the 2nd game on thursday too to go through the motions of a normal "week." or maybe he doesnt care.
either way im putting them on stubhub

preseason schedules dont get decided years in advance and theres zero chance of getting 70k down there these days much less 100
Quote from: MDS on April 11, 2017, 05:29:21 PM
im not sure if the concert (20k tops) will prohibit a friday game
then neither would 18k at a phillies game this august...in fact the concert would be worse cause they share the wells fargo lot which is by far the biggest tailgate lot for birds games....the bank doesnt even allow tailgating
i guess it did happen in 2014....then why have they gone out of their way to not schedule eagles and phils at the same time? unless the eagles want 700 thursday preseason games.
but my point is the phillies game could conceivably get 30-40k (it wont). the center is capped at 20. but i guess they did it at the same time before so i literally have no idea when these games will be and for the life of me dont care because im not going anyway

Have you ever sold them that way? I have a hard time giving mine away for free.
yea i sold 2 tickets for both games the last 2 years...pretty easily. i just undercut the market by a few bucks and they go. so if the cheapest is listed for 20, i put them for like 17.
word is it drops thursday
i believe its exclusive to the nfln....or it has been the last few years....not that it matters since no one wants to watch people talk about a schedule anyway and you can go online and get the schedule yourself at 8pm
I was kidding. They seem to make a feature show about nearly anything.
Frankly, I'm not in any hurry. It's not like life will be somehow different if I get the schedule exactly when it drops.

both cowboys games are primetime games which is an impossibility...one is going to fox
eagles/rams will not be a thursday night game on nbc in week 15. thats just not happening.
teams were just told their skeds....here come the LEAKS
sept 24 vs. nyg
dec 3 @ sea
dec 10 @ rams
dec 17 @ nyg
id suspect seattle is 425 national or snf...one of the giants games is probably snf
So three straight on the road including two games three time zones away on b2b weeks.

I know they requested b2b on the west coast. I just didn't think the NFL would saddle them with a third straight on the road.
teams get 3 road games all the time...do you get 2 on the west coast then another one? not often. but its a short trip and tv >>> eagles travel

They'll be jet-lagged like a motherfarger and theoretically they could be in a push for the playoffs.
It's not a huge deal, just surprising. Just the price they pay for being awesome, I guess.

my biggest surprise is no national tv for the giants...been a while since that happened.
eagles maxed out with 5 primetime games though

on a personal level this is the worst schedule in my 20 years of season tickets
do you need to ask?
ok the big question. which games can be flexed? LET ME TELL YOU
week 5 vs. cardinals
week 9 vs. broncos
thats it, thats the list. week 5 is very early for a move but the snf game (chiefs/texans) is a potential bomb. week 9 (raiders/dolphins) has potential. remember this 6 months from now.
Washington opened -2.5 wk1

besides the week 3 opener i like it....2 primetime games including a christmas jawn....no thursday....3 games in a row in the middle of the season when football weather is at its best
or is this some weird havas thing with your work schedule and stupid outer banks trip
at washington in their home opener which leaves zero chance that this ticket wont be expensive and in fact it might their most expensive ticket of the year
no monday off after the opener which is always my favorite game of the year
exactly one weekend to get my outerbanks house btwn late sept and late november....this is almost impossible for the schedule makers to pull off
i usually spend a long weekend in center city for a birthday game....this year here isnt a game on either side of my born day
home thanksgiving sunday = nightmare traffic
home xmas sucks
home new years eve which is wifeys born day
should i go on?
home opener late is probably the best part of the schedule...better chance its not four thousand degrees
The thought of watching the Birds play on Jesus's birthday gets me hard.
Need to cleanup wks 3-9 to have any shot with the schedule
one weird thing i notice in the schedule is that the eagles only have three divison games in the last 10 weeks
im feeling the big game is the giants...go 1-1 and grab that...could make some noise...lose and the set up for the end of doug p is there

7-10 range is the perfect time for the bye week because, ya know, it's near the middle.
And apparently I was wrong about the preseason games being on Thursday at 7:30. They'll be on Thursday at 7:00. So there's even less chance for out-of-towners making kickoff.

eagles also have a long week going into the wash game....also unless i missed one im almost positive they dont play a single team coming off a bye after getting a tough draw last year on that front....for comparison the giants play four teams coming off a bye
You sure are bye curious.

ok that got me to laugh
if its a consolation the nfl schedule makers hated giving the eagles a road game after the 2 west coast games but the rest of the schedule was too good for them to scrap it because of this
Actually that does make me feel better. Thank you.
another thing i just figured out
if the eagles dont beat denver then they wont beat anyone next year
denver is:
at LA
at KC monday nite
at philly
eagles are:
home washington
home san fran
home denver
im sure doug will take advantage of that
preseason drops tonight
id expect the real sked next week
it will definitely be next tuesday or thursday....its never the week of the draft
excited to find out which weekend i'll be blacked out on bourbon street in an eagles jersey.

I like your teevee talk
i like them cause it amazing how wrong they always are
not that anyone knows....its why every year the dumbest rumors fly around....like oh shtein giants at eagles week 4!!!.....uh no sorry its week 16...easy was notorious for bad info on schedule day
we know the opener we know london and we know they wont play at home when the phillies are at home
everything is pure shots in the dark
i dont think ive ever taken pure shots in the dark, i can just offer this:
-expect 5 primetime games
-expect a very big nfc game (cowboys?) to be moved to thursday night on fox
-expect 2 snf games (would be 3 but the opener technically counts as one). one will be against dallas (duh).
-expect 1 mnf game
-would be stunned if they played on thanksgiving
-last game of the season should be against the giants. lean would be road, but just a lean.
-expect at least 10 national games (primetime, 425, london), meaning there will be 6 or fewer sunday 100 games
-in week 6 the eagles will face washington at 100 at home
one of these things i made up.

key here is its a 930am game on nfl network. for the 2 of you in philly the game will simulcast on some local station, like phl or something.
are there any historical numbers to support teams who play in london getting a home game the following week?
i feel like thats a thing but i have no idea
I think by default teams get a bye, but they can request a home game if they want the bye a different week. Some shtein like that.
youre supposed to get a home game the previous week and can request a bye week the following week
last year baltimore was home before/after. new orleans went road/bye. minny went home/bye. cleveland went home/bye. that road game may have been requested to shorten the trip.
safe guess is eagles go home/bye. early november is a good bye week to have if theyll give it to you.
McLane says the opener is Atlanta.
week 1 - falcons (thurs)
week 2 - @bucs
week 3 - probably home
week 4 - probably road
week 5 - vikings
week 6 - @giants (thurs)
week 7 - home

yea its a 100 game and itll be 1000 degrees
good luck
I was at the game when the Tampa kicker booted a 110 yard field goal to beat them. I was in my seat for about 30 seconds before I said, "yeah, no" and went into the air conditioned club area. I've gotten shtein-faced at games before but never anything like that. The last thing I remember is waking up in the Jack Daniels party bus outside Mons Venus (strip club) about 5 hours after the game ended. I have no recollection of getting there or what I did when I got there, but I'm pretty sure I went through a few hundy at the club. That was a great weekend, though.

notable things
-colts will be on 2nd straight road game
-vikings have a thursday game the week before
-panthers will be on 2nd straight road game
-cowboys have a home MNF game before the eagles
-for whatever reason fox has not moved a game to 425 the week the eagles play the saints. as we stand in april, this is the overwhelming clubhouse leader to move. pit/jax is the SNF game and the jags have a bad qb and could very well be trash. this game is very much open to a time change. BUY YOUR PLANE TICKETS WITH THIS IN MIND.
-wash coming off a thanksgiving game before the eagles
-cowboys have 2 thursday games in a row, then....the eagles at home. comfy.
-the rams go east...then come home for cinci...then the eagles at home. comfy.
-the texans have a saturday game the week before the eagles
-panthers, giants and texans are all open to be flexed. texans is the one barking the loudest to me as a candidate. but its april. who knows.

no one flies home the day of an eagles road game
I did once. Of course my "roadie" was a home game and would never be stupid enough to do that again.
My buddy flies up to Buffalo on Saturday then back here right after the games on Sunday. Not sure why either. His wife is Kardashian rich and he doesn't work.
A weekend in New Orleans has major physical effects on you deep into the next week. At least once you're older than 25. I can't imagine flying back out here and being at work at 8am Monday morning after that game, even if they played it at 6am Sunday.
