>:D
I was NOT a fan before, that wont change. (unless the Flyers sign Bob Probert)
i was really not much more than a casual hockey fan before. and the lockout pretty much showed me that i didn't really miss it all that much.
besides i think some of the new rules are just down right farging stupid (the fighting penalties in the last 5 minutes, was there even another reason to watch a 4-0 game with 5 minutes left other than the fights)
the nhl and the players union really screwed to pooch on this one
is there a list of all the new rules?
I didn't even know there was a lockout for like three months

yep...on the least used site (http://www.nhl.com/nhlhq/cba/rules_changes072205.html) in internet history
QuoteINSTIGATOR Hoyda RULE
A player who instigates a fight in the final five minutes of a game will receive a game misconduct and an automatic one-game suspension. The length of suspension would double for each additional incident.
As well, the player's Coach will be fined $10,000 -- a fine that would double for each such incident.
Booooooooo
Fights were the only good thing about hockey. That and beer. Fights and beer were the only good things about going to hockey games.

There was a lockout?
Hockey sucks.
I'm not a fan but enjoyed a flyers game before. Pretty cool to see at Wachovia Center.
QuoteOFFICIATING POINTS OF EMPHASIS
* Zero tolerance on Interference, Hooking and Holding/Obstruction.
* Goaltenders who play the puck behind the goal line but outside the designated puck handling area will be penalized for delay of game.
* Goaltenders will be penalized for delaying the game if they "freeze" the puck unnecessarily.
* Any player who shoots the puck directly over the glass in his defending zone will be penalized for delay of game.
All good rules that at first will cause more penalties, but in time will REALLY affect the frequency of stoppage of play, making the game faster and smoother and not so stop and go.
I was a fan before the lockout and will remain one.
Maybe I should add something to my sig line?
:-D
Flyers Fan. :yay
Flyer take the Cup this year now that you can't trap.
Jersey Devils are gonna suck now. :-D
Didn't vote, because my answer wasn't there. I can take or leave hockey; if I caught a game I was interested, I'd watch for awhile and I'd pay a bit more attention when playoffs rolled around. Won't be much different in the future, I'd think.
Answered earlier: Was a fan, still a fan.
Go Flyers!
I always viewed hockey as a pure sport. If you can't win the game win the fight and send a message for next time type of stuff. Now that their trying to take all that out of the game more and more my interest has been fading a bit. All the traping surely made the games less interesting too. Then they strike. It is hard to let go of the addiction though. I'll probably catch as many games as I can, but I'm not buying center ice again. Maybe I'll go back after a bit. I'll have to wait and see. If the game opens up again I'll probably get caught up in it again. Beer and hockey is only 2nd to Beer and football really.
It would figure that the Flyers win the cup after a strike year when interest is low. Not saying they will though. So can Hitch coach without the trap? I thought the trap was his thing.
Check out the avatar. How about bringing home Lord Stanley's Cup this year fellas.

Phanatic, do you live in the Philly area? The only reason I get Center Ice is because otherwise, I'd be stuck watching mainly the Florida Panthers (with the very occasional Lightning game). I really only watch the Flyers, and perhaps a few select big games, on CI. Besides, out of the sports I watch regularly (NFL, MLB, NHL), hockey is my wife's least favorite.
If I lived in the Philly area, I wouldn't have CI. Then again, I probably wouldn't have any of the packages. ;D
I may need to cling onto CI even more this year, depending on what kind of national package the NHL can get.
Phanatic's a sissy who lives in Saint Louise along with Demon, his brother in law. And by brother in law I really mean cock jockey.

Yeah Geo I live in St. Louis so CI is the only way I used to get the Flyers games. That and watching the Flyers beat St. Louis once a year here. Which they always seem to do much to Demon's frustration. Pssst... he's a Blues fan!!
Sassy's still jealous of our "8th row behind the visitors bench" tickets for the KC game. I don't like to keep cock jockey kind of stuff in the family. Complicates family reunions and I grew up in North East Philly not West Virginia... :paranoid

If this is how you type now we're gonna need a new editor.

LOL, I actually posted half of that and then came back and finished it later and it didn't quite fit. :-D
I'm gonna need Satoshi to do an Engrish to English translation on that.
