I don't think Dallas is going to benefit much from this trade. They gave up depth, young talent, and future picks. And Rondo just isn't the same player he was a few years ago. He's still very good, but I don't think he'd fall in my top 5 pg list anymore and I feel like that's the kind of return Dallas should have got for what they gave up.

Depth, yes, but I don't see much talent going the other way.

Oops....just looked and Wright isn't nearly as young as I thought. Thought he was a younger dude with a higher ceiling.  Still, the loss of depth wil hurt them in the playoffs if they don't address it, and the loss of picks will hurt in 2 years when Dirk is retired and living in a German disco-tech.

I know Cuban is trying to get Dirk another ring, but I think he jumped the gun on this one.

I don't believe dallas has the defense to get thru the west with or without rondo but he definitely improves their team...they are clearly just going to try and outscore everyone to a ring which usually doesn't work

also depth is overrated....benches get shortened in the playoffs and you go with your best five as much as possible....wright was like a 17 minute a game guy...having al farook be your first big off the bench versus brandon wright is not a mitigating factor in winning a title....they also have plenty of time to get another big before the deadline if they feel they need it...but right now getting rondo for what they gave up is a good move from their perspective as its a titantic upgrade at a starting position
