It's one thing to get some snaps for the lovable backup QB in his last senior game in some Louisiana Catholic HS league. To throw in the towel 3/4 of the way through a close game with playoff implications when you've got a team of professionals that have been actually trying their asses off up to that point... it felt wrong in the moment. Cheapened the game. If you want to throw certain guys into the game because you feel winning is not the top priority, make them your starters.
I don't think #6 vs #9 is super meaningful in the long run but tanking I get. The part of the fanbase that is like "hurr durr farg the giants lol" tonight, them I don't understand. Less than one calendar year ago the Birds had the season end with Josh McCown giving every ounce of what he had in a hopeless endeavor, to the point where he was physically and emotionally broken after the game. Even to get to that point the team had overcome crazy injuries and ridiculous odds. And Doug deserved credit for creating a locker room environment where the team never gave up. In fact if Doug has one strength that's probably what I would point at. The team wildly overperformed last season, given the level of talent they were suiting up on gameday.
This horrendously bad season ended with the coach intentionally throwing the last 15 minutes of a winnable game in a ridiculously blatant way. Sitting guys like Sanders and Goedert is a common and accepted Week 17 move. Yanking the starting QB when it seems like you might win, in a game with playoff implications, is not. It has the same feel as the shtein that got Gregg Williams fired, where you're doing fishy shtein within the game to sabotage your team.

I'm finding it real hard to care about this. Dougie said all week Sudfeld would get playing time in this game. Hurts went a cool 7/20 with a pick and was running for his life on every play. Sudfeld went 5/12 with a pick and was running for his life on every play. The only success anyone had was either a called run or a Hurts scramble. Now if you want to get mad about three straight passes after first and goal, I'm with you there, and we're probably in agreement that taking the ball out of Hurts' hands would have been the right call, so why is anyone mad he didn't get to finish the game?
I care even less about the playoff implications. Am I supposed to be mad the 6-10 Giants didn't win the division? A team that only outscored the Jets for the season? Get the farg outta here.
I'm all aboard on firing Doug, though. Howie too. I was on board for that the moment they said the GM is deciding who gets to dress for games. I'll miss the offensive coaching staff having an Assistant to the Assistant Run Game Coordinator, but there's a crazy idea that someone having direct control over the offense might be a good thing. I'd like to see them look into that.

It's the stain of quitting that will never Wash out that I'm furious over. Kelce wasn't wrong that you play to win. Schwarz wasn't wrong that draft position be damned you don't let a rival celebrate even a "meaningless" win in your own house, much less a play off berth.
Doug: winning is for suckers, the smart play is to quit so you can draft a higher round player, and won't he love playing for a quitter.
Keep that same energy should the Eagles get into position when they have clinched and decide to rest players in week 17 in a game where the outcome could affect another team's playoff lives.
Kelce is absolutely right and what he said was valid. He also knows that last night wasn't going to net them anything. He's getting paid and when (if) he comes back next year and things are better because they have drafted a stud WR and have other picks in the fold lets see if people have this same disgust.

Again I point out that they did not play a ton of guys last night. If the game was a win and in do you think some of the guys who didn't play would have played? Would Miles Sanders, Cox, Barnett and others been on the field?

Sudfeld has been around long enough that the vets whom this supposedly will piss off, assuming it does, that I am sure they were ok with him getting some run. Why? Because the season was done.

nah - bc I would have recognized why it was happening. Hell I can recall a few times when the Eagles needed help and didn't get it from teams late to help seeding or whatever. It is what it is.

A very lucky Pettis touchdown, an obvious trapped ball by Pettis that Fat Boy didn't challenge becasue he's as dumb as Doug and a near Miracle in the Meadowlands III almost made this a mute point. The Bucs would have put these frauds in a meat grinder and made Meadowlands Meat Pie out of them.
