Landfall doesn't mean shtein.  A cat 3 or 4 will devastate the area if it's within 50 miles of the coast.

the worst part of this hurricane or any hurricane moving north is to its east....meaning if it stays off shore the strongest of its winds will not hit land

just because a storm doesnt need to hit land to cause damage doesnt mean it doesnt matter if it stays off land...of course it matters and it matters a lot

Ok, now they're freaking out.   Cat 4 winds likely on the coast.

We're out of here at 4:00 AM.  They're closing the bridges at sunset tomorrow and are not permitting anyone to leave or re-enter until this farger passes.  We've done all we can do and hopefully we'll have a home to return to when we come back.
