My first draft is today.
Why am I in a league that drafts before all of the important injuries and roster decisions have been made, you might ask? Because not every lay is Raquel Welch, that's why.
$25 dollar yahoo league, which I won last year, my first time in it. It was not a pay-up-front league, and when I won, I put the screws to the commish. He's a man, so he paid me but he never got paid by everyone, so this year we've all paid in up front. I will be repeating.
Neato. Have any questions, or do you have this shtein, like, DOWN?
Is there any reason not to draft Victor Cruz over Larry Fitzgerald?
I'd still choose Fitz just because even with terrible QB's he's still gotten his the last two years.
I've somehow ended up in 4 leaguesn ow this year....my two main keeper leagues for $50 a pop, a co-manager spot with a friend from one of those leagues in a $200 league he does, and then another league with another group of friends that I'm not sure is for any money yet. And a suicide league.
farg me.
Got 10th pick out of 12 teams, as 2 time returning champion in one of the $50 leagues tonight. I kept Maclin and Antonio Brown. Should I go AP and Charles my first two picks if they're there? two guys coming off knee injuries, but the return could be huge. I was thinknig maybe going Charles and Vick 1-2....

:-D
12 team keeper league, .5 points per reception. Only get to keep two guys
QB-Matt Schaub
RB-Jamaal Charles
RB-Maurice Jones-Drew
WR-Jeremy Maclin (k)
WR-Antonio Brown (k)
WR/RB-Brandon Lloyd
TE-Jacob Tamme
D/ST-Jets
K-Matt Bryant
Bench-Stevan Ridley
Bench-Robert Meachem
Bench-Reggie Wayne
Bency-Jay Cutler
Bench-Danny Amendola
Bench-Rashad Jennings
Taking a chance with Charles/MJD...kinda had to though. They were more or less the best guys available when I picked.
my brother's espn draft was last night and he asked me to draft for him since he was on plane to ireland.
7th pick, non ppr, 4 pts for qb td, 6 for the rest.
7 LeSean McCoy, Phi RB
18 Andre Johnson, Hou WR
31 Julio Jones, Atl WR
42 Ahmad Bradshaw, NYG RB
55 Dwayne Bowe, KC WR
66 Philip Rivers, SD QB
79 Kevin Smith, Det RB
90 Isaac Redman, Pit RB
103 Brandon Pettigrew, Det TE
114 Rueben Randle, NYG WR
127 Mike Williams, TB WR
138 Joe Flacco, Bal QB
151 Garrett Hartley, NO K
162 Seahawks D/ST D/ST
175 Jermaine Gresham, Cin TE
186 Bernard Pierce, Bal RB
199 Kevin Walter, Hou WR
i think i did pretty good for him. i couldn't believe shady was available at 7th pick but i guess non ppr reduces his value somewhat.
i never understood the 4 pts for a td.....why doesnt espn just adjust the yardage for rb and wr to equal the scoring out...a farging td in football should be 6 pts
I think you did well, too, SunMo.
Is your brother happy?
I absolutely love the first three picks.
1. Chris Johnson (Ten - RB)
2. Matthew Stafford (Det - QB)
3. Wes Welker (NE - WR)
4. Marques Colston (NO - WR)
5. Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG - RB)
6. Antonio Brown (Pit - WR)
7. Vincent Jackson (TB - WR)
8. Tony Gonzalez (Atl - TE)
9. Jonathan Stewart (Car - RB)
10. Shonn Greene (NYJ - RB)
11. Pierre Thomas (NO - RB)
12. Joe Flacco (Bal - QB)
13. New York (NYJ - DEF)
14. Jared Cook (Ten - TE)
15. Garrett Hartley (NO - K)
10 team mock draft i did.
i immediately regretted taking cj when forte and ap were still on the board.
You like Joe Flacco and Ahmad Bradshaw too much I think. Hartley is another one you've now drafted twice, but I like him too: dome kicker on high scoring team.
the reason i like them is that they drop further than I think they should. i need to read up on bradshaw's competition for carries on the giants but with jacobs gone he should have more carries, especially on the goalline.

Taking a chance with MJD
I drafted him in my second league last night. He was there in the 4th round, and I said WTF. Something has to give with him in the next week, I would think.
i was pleasantly surprised to get mjd in the third round of our draft yesterday
I just got him in my other money, keeper league. Auction draft though, overspent for him as of right now. $47.
Here's how the rest of it shaped up. K's for the keepers
QB-Tony Romo $14 (K)
RB-Adrian Peterson $28
RB-Maurice Jones-Drew $47
WR-Larry Fitzgerald $34
WR-Percy Harvin $8 (K)
WR-Antonio Brown $2 (K)
TE-Rob Gronkowski ($2) (K)
W/R/T-Jeremy Maclin ($23)
K-Gostkowski ($2)
D/ST-Houston ($2)
Bench-Ben Roethlisburger ($2)
Bench-Mark Ingram ($5)
Bench-Rashad Jennings ($8)
Bench-Jacob Tamme ($6)
Bench-Nate Washington ($2)
Bench-Alshon Jeffery (#4)
Bench-Taiwan Jones ($1)
A few of the bench spots will most likely be changing players.
I'm looking at my bench RBs and the FA pool.
My question: Roy Helu or Kevin Smith?
The former is--and I'm not boasting here--on my team. The latter is available. I'm thinking I'd do well to drop Helu and add Smith. God only knows what that fool in Washington is going to do with his RBs. Smith is guaranteed to be the guy for at least the first two weeks while LeShoure serves his suspension. Helu is just coming back from achilles injury, and Smith is injury prone as well, so I consider the injury risk a wash. Anyone agree?
Your instinct is also the way I'd go.
Helu certainly has the ability to have some nice weeks, but Shanahan is consistently infuriating and has two other backs to use. SOMEONE will have to get run in Detroit, and Smith is the guy who can stay on the field.
Thanks. Done.

Rookie David Wilson is the only competition, but he's only there to give Bradshaw a rest really. Bradshaw is good, but he's at least as, if not more, brittle than Vick.
Had my $250 draft that I'm co-managing with a buddy last night before the game. It went much better than expected, ended up getting a lot of our guys a round later than we thought we'd have to.
co-managing teams is teh ghey
What a zesty start.

I've never done it before but me and him were generally on the same page with who we wanted and out of all of my friends id definitely trust him the most to help win me some money. I know you deeply care about our roster so ill post it when I get home.
i have one last draft tonight for my keeper league. yes, it's after the first game but it's a long story and involves a lot of panty bunching by men in their 40s.
anyway, i have 2nd pick in a non-snaking draft and my keepers are Vick, AJ Green, and jimmy graham.
my running backs were so bad last year that i couldn't justify keeping one instead of graham.
running backs that are available in the first will be: mathews, forte, bradshaw, fred jack, steven jack, murray, trich.
i'm thinking trich if he's available because of the upside but it's also the browns so how good can he be. i guess i should take best available with mathews even though he'll be limited for a few weeks.
non ppr, touchdown focused scoring, so that drops forte down for me. i'm thinking mathews, murray, or trich.
thoughts?
You're in rebuilding mode. So I would take Murray or Richardson. With a TD heavy league I'd probably go Richardson since Cleveland won't be able to pass the ball until at least five years from now when the next QB they draft has a season or two under his belt.
another guy is dropping murray because he has CJ. im thinking of offering to swap picks in the 3rd round for murray, keeping him and dropping Vick and getting a different qb.
What QBs will be available?
Quote from: SunMo on September 06, 2012, 12:36:51 PM

That is definitely not the worst plan I've ever heard. There's a very real possibility that you'll want to drop Vick in the middle of the season this year.
my master plan is to take Luck in the 3rd round or so and have a qb for the next 10 years
but if i didn't keep vick, everybody else in the league would have a qb with vick, ryan, peyton, rothelisburger, rivers all being available.
meh all those qbs suck. i'd stick with the master plan of drafting Luck
exactly, that's why i'm leaning towards not even keeping vick, those guys are all the same. get a top back, draft another one, and get a qb later leaves me with a better team i think.
Agreed. Although yo run the risk of some joker taking Luck early. Regardless, you if you drop Vick you have every chance to just draft him since only a jackass would use the first pick on him.
that's my thought process too.
the only thing keeping me from 100% doing for that is i just traded for vick last season but i can't let that dictate my moves going forward
Side question... Out of every 1000 fantasy leagues, how many had a team with Kevin Ogletree on a roster last night? 5-6? And how many started him? Has to be fewer than 1, right?
Here's the team and the round we got them in...Passing TDs count for 6, 20 pass yards per point, .5 PPR, all WR spots are WR/TE flex, no true TE spot.
QB-Tom Brady (1)
RB-Jamaal Charles (2)
RB-Fred Jackson (3)
WR/T-Mike Walace (5)
WR/T-Jeremy Maclin (6)
WR/T-Vernon Davis (7)
K-Alex Henery (13)
D/ST-Jets (12)
Bench-Joe Flacco (10)
Bench-Doug Martin (4)
Bench-C.J. Spiller (9)
Bench-Robert Meachem (8)
Bench-Jon Baldwin (11)
oh shtein, i thought you were kidding. your team is terrible enough you should make a murder/suicide pact with your partner
No thanks.
sissy
couldn't get anybody to trade me a rb they were dropping which seems silly. i was offering a low pick but they were dropping them for nothing, so why not bite? anyway, my team ends up being
QB - Vick, Luck, Freeman
RB (start 3) - T-Rich, Charles, S. Jackson, Hillis, Turbin, Helu
WR (start 3) - Green, Cruz, A. Brown, V. Jackson, Meachem, Young, Wright
TE - Graham, Cook
That ends up not looking too bad, actually. The RBs mix youth (Richardson, Helu), upside (Charles, Helu) and solid boringness (Jackson). You got Luck and your WRs have a good mix as well. Your TEs suck donkey balls but you can't have it all.
Just realized that that's Jimmy Graham. So, yeah, your TEs don't suck. Well done.
it means a lot coming from you buddy
start/sit
im farged no matter who i go with but looking for some opinions on which ONE of these youd choose
mjd @ minnesota
rashard jennings @ minnesota
helu @ new orleans
Handicap Jennings is getting the start from me this week.
The Vikings have a pretty good run defense, and who knows if Helu plays as much as Morris or Royster. In short, you're farged no matter who you go with. I'd start Jennings

i am leaning jennings but i can easily see and have seen this a million times...where everyone excludes the guy who is injured or in this case is coming off a holdout and then that person goes for two touches and 80 yards
i dont even care if they all suck this week thats what i expect
just dont wanna miss on the guy who goes for 10+ pts if one does
I have limited other options but Helu is one of them and he's on the bench. You just don't know if he's healthy or if Shannahan will bother playing him. MJD is being 'eased in' so really what other choice do you have?
helu is a distant third for sure
as for mjd like i was just saying i could see "easing in" to mean a few goal line touches and 50 yards rushing
i think its a virtual toss up btwn him and jennings but was seeing if someone could sway me one way or another
Jennings is the safer bet
I've got MJD/Jennings in two leagues and am going Jennings in both. Over Stevan Ridley in one of them

jennings is the safer bet but MJD has gobs more talent. I'd buck the chorus and stick with talent. Who's going to get the goal line carries? Jennings? Yeah, right. Start MJD and at least you put the most talented player in your roster.
cant believe im saying this but i think i agree with dio on a sports call
Jennings isn't James Mungro here....here's a pretty good athlete and a sizeable guy capable of being a 3 down back.
Malcolm Floyd @ OAK or Anquan Boldin v. CIN (MNF)
thats not even a question......floyd
.5 PPR, pick one for W/R flex
Brandon Lloyd @ TEN
Stevan Ridley @ TEN
Robert Meachem @ OAK
Reggie Wayne @ CHI
Danny Amendola @ DET
Obviously i"m going with Lloyd at the moment (other starting WRs are Antonio Brown and Maclin), but he and Brady didn't click much in the preseason. I think I'm gonna have a problem choosing this spot all year.
Lloyd's overhyped. I'd go Ridley
A lot of upside guys there who have undefined roles right now. I like Wayne for Week 1 because I think he's guaranteed the most targets of that group and I doubt the Bears can keep him bottled up. If I knew that NE is going to heavily utilize Ridley in the screen I would recommend him without hesitation but who knows what that hoodie-wearing icehole is gonna do.
I was thinking about Wayne but I don't wanna get "Too cute" and end up screwing it up. But I just may put him in anyway.
My co-manager was thinking of starting Doug Martin over Charles or FJax in our big money league...I said def not on Charles but Doug is facing a zesty rush D while FJax is facing a decent Jets rushing D. thoughts?
please dont ever say co-manager again.. thanks.
Suck on these balls reese. Right here.
I've got several sets of balls in my mouth through the first half of the early games...my fantasy opponent's balls.

lol....did he really say that.....what a pos he is
So I'm hoping you put Ridley back in your lineup Munson???
Rotated between the 3 of them all morning before settling on Lloyd. had a decent game but obviously Ridley did better (As did Wayne). of course I'll start Ridley next week only to see Brady throw the ball 60 times.
I had the Brady/Gronk combo today, but I was rocked by the Ryan/Jones one. I had Roddy White as well and of course he didn't see any of Ryan's tds.
I had taken a flier on Cobb in the last round, but dropped him for a waived Ryan Williams. Cobb had like 9 catches for 70+ yards and a return TD. Kind of annoyed I didn't hang unto him.
Who to start?
PPR (3pt bonus for 100+ yards received also), pick 2 of 3:
DeSean Jackson vs. BAL
Sidney Rice vs. DAL
Owen Daniels at JAX
PPR (2pt bonus for 100+ receiving or rushing), pick one RB and one flex:
Donald Brown vs. MIN
Alfred Morris @ STL
Anquan Boldin @ PHI
Mike Williams (TB) @ NYG
PPR (also 1 pt for 15 return yards), pick one:
Randall Cobb vs. CHI
Dez Bryant at SEA
Players in bold are currently in my lineup.
The only change I'd make is to switch out Boldin for Williams....used to love Boldin, but he's not nearly as good as he was in AZ. It seems crazy to start Cobb over Bryant, but with how many times he was targeted in the passing game and getting points for return yards, he should outscore Bryant.
I'm going to be an Eagle homer and bench Boldin. But I'm leaning Brown over Williams due to minimal targets to Williams last week and the Giants needing a statement win.
based on week 1 my rb depth is awesome, of course we'll see how that goes.
right now my rbs are forte, sproles, ridley, morris
forte is an auto start of course but i'm thinking of going ridley over sproles and morris

doug martin vs giants or t rich vs cincy?
my three year old says Richardson
kid is probably smarter than me. Richardson it is
He is. He was born healthy. You were born not as chromosomy. T-Tard.
IDP sucks
today it seperated my team from a win
RB1 - Peterson
RB2 - Beanie Wells (probable), Ryan mathews (should be suited up but going to split carries at best) or Michael Bush
I'm leaning towards Mathews in the hopes that he's ready and Atlanta has given up a lot of points to RBs this year
EDIT, never mind, forte is out. no brainer.
I benched Mathews in favor of Sproles, Donald Brown, and Alfred Morris.
I have zesty options in a zesty league today. (1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 W/R flex, 1 TE, K, D; Pass TDs 6 points standard scoring otherwise)
I already ran Boldin at one of the WR slots, by accident, but I was not unhappy with the 130 yards he put up for me. So now I've got to fill 2 WR, 2 RB, and one Flex spot from the following players:
RB
Forte (CHI) {Quest} @ DAL [MNF]
Law Firm (CIN) @ JAX [4 p.m.]
Morris (WAS) @ TB [4p.m.]
LeShoure (DET) {Quest} v. MIN [1p.m.]
Smith (DET) v. MIN [1 p.m.]
Brown (NYG) @ PHI [SNF]
WR
Jones (ATL) v. CAR [1 p.m.]
Welker (NE) @ BUF [1 p.m.]
Floyd (SD) @ KC [1 p.m.]
I don't think I've got enough decent options at RB to use one at the flex spot instead of one of these WRs, so unless you see something I don't, the basic question is, which two RBs to play?
I'm figuring Benjarvis Green Ellis will get the ball a lot and Jax is vulnerable, so he's a start. After that....I don't know. Morris? Forte doesn't go until Monday night and who knows whether he's healthy enough to play at all much less be effective enough to retake the carries Bush has been getting. LeShoure is also dinged up and facing a tough run D so who knows what they will do with him. Smith was healthy last week and didn't get a single touch..he's not an option. If he doesn't see the ball this weekend again, I'm dropping him. Andre Brown is going to share duties with Bradshaw, right?
So I think this is my best lineup:
RB Law Firm
RB Alfred Morris
WR Julio Jones
WR Malcom Floyd
Flex Wes Welker
Do any of you see a better lineup?
Pick 2, PPR:
Antonio Brown
Jeremy Maclin
Alfred Morris
Pick 3, .5 PPR:
Reggie Wayne
Antonio Brown
Brandon Lloyd
Stevan Ridley
Jeremy Maclin
Danny Amendola
I'm leaning towards the bolded. I know Ridley seems like a no brainer but he's facing a D that's only given up one rushing TD and less than 100 YPG so far to opposing running games.
What does your co-partner think?
lol

These are my other two keeper leagues. One of which I actually play against my co-manager in the big money league.
But he thinks you like smelly buttholes.
Unlike Munson, I have an actual dilemma...pick one:
Reggie Wayne
Eric Decker
Brandon Marshall
Torrey Smith
Antonio Brown
Mine is more pressing because i have more spots to fill. neener
Matt Shaub or Cam Newton?
Big Ben tonight vs a zesty Titans D or ride with my man Eli who has been a stud but is going up against the 49ers d?
Schaub
Since it's @ SF, i'd go with Ben.
Need help with some trade offers.
I have two guys who want Leshoure and Javid Best's jello brain.
One guy is offering Dalton , the other guy Dwayne Bowe and Michael Bush.
My issue is My WR's are pretty tight.
Vincent Jackson
Julio Jones
Brandon Marshall
My QB situation sucks...Romo
I'm really just not sold on Dalton. Thoughts?
Ill add. I'm pissed that I had an agreement on the trade earlier today Leshoure straight up for Bowe and Bush. But the dude reneg'd upon asking another guy in the league.
dalton's pretty good, they pass a lot and he has a couple good receivers to throw to. who knows what dwayne bowe will be with brady quinn at qb and bush might get you some touchdowns but with forte getting healthy who knows what his role will be.
and i would say farg you to the guy who renegged.
If Romo was my only option and I could get Dalton for Leshoure, I'd do that in a heartbeat.
forgot to do my lineup this week and left dez bryant on the bench
i was up by about 70 points before the late game last night and still had arian foster yet to play. felt fairly confident. dude had rodgers and nelson going. 90 points between them.
Annoying trend: Eli fantasy turd but reality win
(http://i.imgur.com/VG3Xi.jpg)
looks like it's White's turn next.
I farging hope so.
me too, i lost to the worst team last week due to duds by eli, cruz, white and colston
I gave a team its second win of the season thanks to Eli and Roddy.
I have a legit issue this week... Can start 4:
Roddy vs DAL
Nicks vs PIT
DeSean at NO
Rice vs MIN
James Jones vs ARI
Since I have Eli, I really don't want to bench Nicks. $75 for winning the week (which I did easily the one good game Nicks had). Roddy has the hardest matchup but is the best player. Gotta roll with DeSean.
So, it's really Sidney Rice or James Jones.
got steamrolled in IGYs league by a guy who had Brady and Gronkowski on bye and had 102 projected points to my 120 projected.
so of course he had Cutler (22.53), Brandon Marshall (31.88), and Doug Martin (45.57) in his lineup. farging bullshtein

BENGALS D @ KC or
FALCONS D vs ARI
Owen Daniels vs JAC or
Dustin Keller at STL
THESE DECISIONS MATTER
Bengals D @ KC
Keller @ the Lou
Bengals
Daniels
Definitely going with the Bengals D... Decided to go with Daniels (assuming he's active).
Yup. Bengals and Daniels. I wouldn't start any receiver or TE that relies on Sanchez to get them the ball.
I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the Yahoo! Fantasy Sports FAQ on The Crash. There is obviously much, much more to this story that we aren't getting.
FBI
god damn right.
So I have a nice grouping of RB's, and can only start two in my current league format.
Chris Johnson/Frank Gore/CJ Spiller/Jonathan Stewart
I have one guy obsessed with pulling one of my top 3 guys, he's willing to give me Dalton and Steven Jackson for Romo/CJ2k. My qb situation is a mess with Romo/Fitz, so it solves my major pain point. Any thoughts? Worth it?

Riley Cooper or T.Y. Hilton?
PPR? Hilton.
Otherwise, who knows. I'd go with the redneck just to make it entertaining.
I'd go Riley...the weather in Cincy is awful, blizzard like conditions right now. Plus their defense is good.
I think, on a normal day, Hilton has the higher floor...not sure about that today
Edit: then again, because of the time of the games, it looks like it'll be just as snowy here for the Eagles game. But the Cincy D is much better than Detroits...
