I love Jesus.

Jesus saves sinners and redeems them for valuable cash prizes.

God hates the Eagles.

That's because they're owned by a Jew & run by a Mormon.

DOUBLE FAIL.

Mormons worship God, but I think they also worship that Joe guy.

Religion is fascinating in theory. As something to study, it is the height of intellectual pursuit. Its possibilities endless.

In the real world it's simultaneously boring and infuriating.

Similar to politics, actually.

No.  Mathematics, Physics, Biology, I can think of a host of things that surpass religion.

From a psychological study on its effects on people and what it aims to accomplish I think it is all those things but that is more from the outside looking in.

Yeah, there's no way I could possibly disagree with this more. These things are all finite. Religion offers the possiblity of the infinite. It's no comparison.

It's no more lofty than philosophy, and that's only good for a couple years before you move on to grown up subjects.

Philosophy is essentially religion, without the mystical voodoo hocus pocus. More courage and faith is required for religion. Philosophy is for people who think they're too smart for religion and are actually too dumb to see that they are essentially the same thing.

Marge: I have someone who can help you!
Homer: Is it BATMAN!!??
Marge: No hes a scientist
Homer: Batman is a scientist.
Marge: Its not BATMAN!

More courage?  Ha.

They both amount to mental masturbation if you keep at them longer than a couple years in your youth.  Nothing terribly high brow about spending decades diddling yourself with books about god worship or the nature of being.
