Got a similar thing from McAfee at home last night, at work using Google Chrome get this:

I noticed something from go00ogle.net loaded when I logged in to post this....
CF has aids
I noticed this myself yesterday, and sent a message to the host. I'll be taking the board down tomorrow for a fresh install after back everything up. If you're running some kind of script blocker, you're probably okay. If you're using IE, and you're at work, you may want to spruce up your resume.
Changed the theme temporarily while I work out the problems.
OMG :crazy
I am also having seizures, yes.
:-D
It keeps trippin when I am typing...when I try to quote someone it bounces all over the joint. I was scurrrred that I got a virus on the work computer.
Let's see if I can find one that isn't borked and AIDS-filled for the moment.
NoScript is saying there's no more go00gle.net crap, so I think we're good again.
fwiw, I kept getting hijacked when I came here yesterday, and the first thing that loads is some sort of go00gle.net crap that tried to redirect me.
yeah, i got hit by something too wherei was getting redirected, i use the firefox
I keep on updating the board software when those updates come, and the SMF team's response is that the host hasn't updated their stuff. The host, naturally, says the board software is to blame. So I guess I'll be fixing this on a weekly basis from now on. Super.
thats why you make the big bucks GF
i got redirected to the yellow pages the other day and just now was sent to google.
I was trying to get redirected but so many things were trying to pop up that I just closed Firefox and re-opened it. It seems fine now.
I'm getting the same thing for the last week or so.
I Haven't had this problem at all?
Why do some have it and some not?
Depends on when I catch them and remove them, and who's running script blockers.
Its doing it again.
Should I run a script blocker and if so, what is that, will it affect visiting other sites and how do I do it?
i just got redirected back to my igoogle page again. seems like in the last few days it's been happening a little more regularly.
i guess it's only a matter of time before gf opens up a :CF paypal account. ;)
the only issue I'm having is from boomspeed? I assume that's PSN's boob-atar, but its making my page load up really slow.

NoScript works fine, if you're using Firefox. If you're using IE, you'll probably want to reformat.

yeah, that's the site i use to host my avatar but it doesn't slow my computer down at all. your's just sucks.
NoScript says there's one more instance of go00ogle.com left, but Chrome says everything is fine. I'll assume Chrome is wrong.
For the technology idiots here (me), how does this happen? Do these malware bugs somehow attach themselves to this site?
When I got that trojan notice (in the computer geek thread) I ran Norton and it did not find anything. I also ran AdAware and Malwarebytes and nothing came up on them either.
Either my computer is infected and they got the ftp password, they was a hole in the board software/server software required for the board to run, or both. It seems that quite a number of sites are infected currently, and the infection is proving difficult to remove. I've already removed it from a good dozen files, and it was put back in again before I was done fixing the last batch.
The current one, .c00om, is a little tougher than the last one. The go00ogle one was easier by far. I've been downloading all umpteen million files the board runs from and searching all the text in them for iframe or google. The code for it adds the zeroes to the address on the loaded page, which means I can't search for go00gle. Same with .c00om, except I can't just remove every mention of .com without breaking everything.
Computer hackers and thieves should all burn in hell.
I'd like to kick the shtein out of them. ALl of them. I just feel like giving out a good beating.
Fixed, I think. That took long enough.
Almost. There's still one, but tracking it down is slow going.
Yeah nevermind. This shtein is still happening. LAME.
The first thing Mozilla looks up when I click the "display all unread topics" link is .co00m, or some such shtein.
I'm getting it now too.
Also, GF...a lot of my images aren't showing.
and on the main page, instead of some of the helmets, it just says "New posts"

Im guessing GF gave up on this
Do00d. Get this shtein fixed already.
So wait, my computer got the HIV from this site, and not watching the Erin Andrews video an unhealthy amount of times?
FTP's been giving me problems for a few days. Disconnecting randomly.
so how would us humans translate that and what can we expect aside from our identities stolen?
I have to jiggle the cable.

I don't think I've ever seen what y'all are talking about. Is this a Windoze only thing?
It seems to have been cleared up now.
Getting the usual .c00om deal, and now also something called goldtraf.net.
When I look at the site on my iPhone, the site loads, then I start to get redirected to Google, then the Safari app quits. Since this doesn't happen all the time I assume it's malware related.
just got redirected to http://www.entrepreneur.com/misc/features/a0801/grow.htm?cam=abcsearch&cid=grow0801 when i logged on this morning.

Yeah, I was uploading files earlier when I closed my ftp window for no reason.
this is getting cuter by the day
goOOogle.net comes up every time now
that GoOOoogle crap set off alarms with the security nerd on Monday and he alerted me about it, so until this stuff is cleared up, I won't be here during work hours. You care...

i just logged onto the board and got a pop up bar saying that this site wanted to run add ons. almost immediately afterward my antivirus blocked a trojan and closed the webpage.
naturally i immediately logged back on to post this.
The front page and links page had something on them. The board itself seems to be fine, and I've cleaned up the rest of it for now.
i skip the front page entirely when i come here and have the board address saved as my favorite.

ditto.
Another board/site that I go to is having a big issue with this too.
so basically, you picked up something on a dirty site and brought it back here with you. that's how aids got out of africa.
thanks to you, it burns when i hit refresh.
You should have gone with "it burns when I ping."
i don't know what that means.
<------computer st00pid
Your face is stupid.
I didn't bring the e-herpes here. I haven't had the issue on this or the other site. I just said that its not just a problem here.
just got 2 different trojan warnings when i logged on here:
Detected: JS/Exploit-Iframe (Trojan)
Detected: Exploit-PDF.b.gen.a (Trojan)
then i also got an open file security warning pop up window from an unknown publisher wanting me to run their program.
Have you totally cleared your cache before revisiting here?
just did. i know that clearing the cache will help free up some space and speed up browsing, etc, but how would that help with viruses?
If you're loading up the same old copy of a page that was buggy, you're going to get the bugs coming back.
The hoops we have to jump through to read each other's drivel don't seem worth it.

One of them is an Adobe Reader exploit, I got similarly named Trojans to Sarge. Clearing cache has no effect, it's on the site.
Just did a quick upload of clean copies of all the files the board uses, which naturally screwed up the board for a few minutes.
Getting warnings like this when I visit :CF

Warning
Dangerous web site
You have attempted to open a dangerous Web sit
Address: http://www.google-query.com/ga.php
Credibility: Dangerous
Category: Spyware
Suggestion: Close your web browser window and do not reopen this web site
It is pretty bad. Can no longer access from work, whatever it is, it's using a remote execution exploit in Adobe Reader. Updating the reader didn't stop it, however McAfee and Symantec pick it up. I've been using Firefox, which thwarts it, but IE and Chrome get pwned.
I use Firefox and luckily haven't seen anything.
I ran Malaware, CC Cleaner and Norton the other day and nothing got picked up.
Its all cleaned up again for the moment. I've changed the FTP password. Until Dreamhost believes the problem is on their end, or until I've got the money to switch servers (don't count on that happening any time soon), I'll be cleaning things up on a regular basis.
seems fine to me of late
when i'm at work, i still have pages that get cut off at the bottom and i have to hit the reply button to be able to view the most recent posts, but i'm used to it now. no problems at all from my home pc though. i think dio was having the same problem. wonder if he still is?
Obama is watching you.
yeah, I'm still getting it...very strange. it happens only on my laptop, and regardless which browser I use. it frustrates me, I have no idea what to do about it.
what did your internet provider say Dio? You might have malware on some internal files on your hard drive they can delete for you
Dio, download "Spybot" off download.com or cnet, run the update, and run the search.
done, no change
of course there's no change. except now seabiscuit has all of your personal info. so if your next credit card statement has a bar-fridge and some vet bills on it, you know why.
and some booze.
and a car:

so we got new computers at work today and finally got upgraded to XP. yeah, i said upgraded to XP......because up until today, we've still been using windows 2000. lolololololz.
anyway, i was hoping that the change of computer and os would get the board back to normal, but it isn't. i still get some threads chopped off at the end. tragic, ain't it?
that's bizarre
so now that i've got this shiny new computer at work and have to personalize it with my favorites and such from scratch, i've been going to my favorite websites and everything and saving them and i went to google, signed in and saw a little ad for their "google chrome" browser. never heard of it but then again, it's probably been over a year since i've even seen the regular google page since i have my igoogle saved as a favorite.
anyway, i decided to download it. not sure why since i don't have admin privileges and can't download anything, but to my surprise, it actually downloaded and installed. so i've been using it for my web browsing for the last couple hours and have noticed 2 things so far. 1. it's faster than ie. 2. :CF now seems to be loading properly. no cut off pages or anything like that.
i use ie on my home computer though and never have a problem so that got me thinking that maybe the problem is that the version of ie that i use at work is too old. i know that even with my new computer that's running xp, i've already hit 1 or 2 websites that have said my browser is out dated. maybe that's the problem? i didn't think that :CF was high tech enough to require more current browser versions to run properly but maybe it does.
dio, if it's still happening to you, have you tried updating to the most current version of your web browser?
Quote from: Sgt PSN on November 19, 2009, 06:37:35 PM
the version of ie that i use
We found your biggest problem.
And to be less of an icehole, if you're using IE6 at work you need to upgrade. Its a browser so bad Microsoft is asking people to stop using it.
i tried updating the ie browser but lack of admin privileges blocked it. not sure why i was able to download google chrome but it seems to have done the trick with the problem i was having with the board at work.
i also downloaded it at home too and i've noticed a nice little increase in speed there as well.
Some benchmarking been done, and Chrome is the fastest of the browsers out there right now. That might change when extensions are finally available.
If you can't update IE at work, you probably can't run Windows Update either. I sure hope there's nothing important on those computers.
nope, can't run windows update either. the computer nazis have come down really hard over the last year or so too. they've blocked all streaming media, which kind of makes sense because i know they don't want people watching youtube all the time, but the filter also blocks videos from cnn and other news sites....which kind of sucks. can't watch any of the videos on espn.com either or listen to any online radio. hell, even espn360, which is only available to att customers and is also free for all military ip's is blocked. on the plus side though, they started blocking fatal-combat which was what i needed to be able to break free of the death grip that place had on me.
i'm not even sure how i'm able to log on to this place from work. they've got a message board and forum filter but i think this :CF sneaks around it because of the .info. i know when this place was a .com i wasn't able to log on from work.
I hope your nazis are handing the update stuff on their own, at least. Probably not.
you tell me. it's 2009 and we just upgraded from windows 2k to XP.
Yeah so, my problem with not being able to see the last few posts in a thread continues.
The glitch occurs in IE, Firefox, and Chrome (all versions properly updated).
It does not happen on my wife's computer, or any other that I use either on our home network or elsewhere.
My logic may not be perfect, but I deduce from these two facts that the problem is not CF or software.
But you already know all this from previous discussion. Here's the new element:
My machine (Lenovo T60p) recently became so malware-laden that it was essentially unusable. So I reformatted the hard drive. And guess what? The problem persists. WTF?
Spooky shtein if you ask me.
get a mac :-D
I might do that if I had thousands of extra dollars laying around
you don't need that much. Macbook is like 900 bucks.

this started back up for me at work again as well about 2 or 3 weeks ago. new hp laptop w/xp and chrome as my browser. everything was working great for the first few weeks but then went back to the same old, same old. i don't get it.
i'm getting those dotted underlines on some of the words on here which usually means some kind of spyware. but i'm only getting it on this site so i think there may be something going on here.
never mind, i'm getting it elsewhere also, must be on my end.
Which end?
the brown end.
I just got a malware detection warning saying that this site contains elements from icons.iconator.com.
I had clicked on the Randall Cunningham thread (page 1) and got the warning. I closed my browser, tried again and got the same warning (did this 3x total). Every other thread I've clicked in has no issues.
It was an avatar stored at iconator.com. I removed it from their profile.
Chrome is warning me that MDS' avatar "may harm your computer."
nothing about the posts?
Not unless you're some sort of cyborg.
