usc has a lot of picks but they dont compare to the absolute studs that miami had on one team...im not talking about players that were simply drafted but players that were off the meter good...miami has defensive player of the years and all pros and rushing leaders and in general nfl starters and good ones across the board...its mind boggling that all those guys were on one team

i also forgot dj williams

and i could have added mcdougle and william joseph

i think i count 17 first rounders on the team

you could add a couple of their lineman into this squad and have a compettitive nfl team

its just insane

Absolute studs?  No.

ken dorsey - sucks
willis mcgahee - wildly overrated, has never been a difference-maker in the NFL
najeh davenport - backup
andre johnson - I'll give you this one - solid #1 WR.
antrel rolle - anything but dominant
edward reed - Obviously, I'll give you this one.  Best safety in the NFL.
sean taylor - "Hey, this guy is dead!"  "Cross him off, then."
clinton portis - He's good.
phillip buchanon - Bounced around, hasn't lived up to potential.
mike rumph - Hahahahaahahahaha
framk gore - Meh.  One good season and back to being just another back.  Still, I'll give it to you.
roger mcIntosh - Too soon to declare him anything but just another player.
jonathan vilma - great player when healthy
vince wilfork - Is he really good, or is he just surrounded by really good players?
bryant mcKinnie - Meh.  Not nearly as dominant as expected.
kellen winslow - He finally stays healthy to play one season, and is a stud?  Got it.
roscoe parrish - No.  Situational player.  Not a difference-maker.  He's exactly the type of guy the Eagles would pawn off as a #1, but he's basically just Dietrich Jells.
jeremy shockey - His demonstrative behavior is much more noticable than his contributions on the field.  Jason Witten makes Shockey look like Matt Schobel.

Discounting McGahee and Shockey is just being argumentative for the sake of argument. I should know. I'm the king of that.

Rolle and Taylor should be counted too...

lol...your nerdom never takes a day off does it

sorry one college team only produced 7 or 8 nfl players who have been among the best at their position

any person that would ever look at that miami team would be flabbergasted...what does supernerd do...he breaksdown each player and how good they are in the pros and decides thats hes not impressed because they only had 7 or 8 guys off it that became amongst the best at their position at the next level

kill yourself...again

I disagree about McGahee.  He's rushed for 1,200 yards twice and 1,100 yards once and did so on three awful football teams.

Put him on a good team with a good quarterback and other offensive weapons and he's a Pro Bowler.

it just shows you how farged up the polls were and are...they started #2 that season and wrecked Penn State (i was at that game, awful) and got bumped to #1 where they won their next 3 games by scores of 61-0, 43-21, and 38-7...then they went into the Florida State game ranked #2...wtf?

even worse than that was the year before the great miami team when miami beat florida state in the regular season and was ahead of them in both polls but the bcs gave florida state the ncg slot

miami really should have won back to back to back national titles but got robbed in not making the game in 2000 and then robbed in the 2002 game by that brutal pass interference call

anyway 2001 miami is the sickest college team ever

The ESPN people that put Red Grange ahead of Barry Sanders on the list of best college players of all time might have a team from the 1930's they think is better.

It was a great team.  Butch Davis was an idiot for leaving to coach Cleveland.  He could have been a king at Miami for years and years to come.

Grange likely would have gone to Penn (not Penn State) had his mother not died when he was 5.

SCINTILLATING!

But seriously, Barry Sanders could run circles around him.

Listening to Miami sports radio during that time period (before the heady days of XM), lots of Hurricane fans were calling for Davis' head, saying that a real coach would have won more championships.

He was still an idiot for taking the Cleveland job.
