There's always schedule things to bitch about but this seems like an actual error.
the eagles have 3 straight road games and the raiders are basically in the same boat as the bucs
it took them a long time to find the right schedule (they found it sunday, released wednesday). some very specific considerations for the 100th anniversary shtein and maximizing ratings since this is renegotiation time with the networks. billionaires need more bread. so this one was weighted much much more heavily toward tv than norma and its usually weighed toward tv

Any of those other three Andy Reid teams?
No because this stat is about shootout postseason wins, which are problematic for him. Andy is 0-2 in these 50+ Att types of games, losing against BB/Brady both times (the Super Bowl, 2015-2016 divisional round).
But in the regular season, McNabb has been the second most successful QB at this (4-1-1) after Brady. Yeah it's that disgusting Bengals tie. One of the wins was as a Skin, so Andy gets no credit.
Regular season 50+ Att under Andy:
McNabb 3-1-1 (all wins were 2005 or earlier)
Foles 1-0 (first career win)
Vick 1-0 (horrible 4-INT FG fest against the Browns)
Mahomes 1-0
Kolb 0-1 (first NFL start, blown out by Saints)
Smith 0-1
Overall stats for #1 Dad:
Regular season: 6-3-1
Postseason: 0-2

Josh Rosen's statement about there being nine mistakes ahead of him in the draft isn't aging well. Especially since the team that drafted him at 10 already decided that he was a mistake.
I don't even know who Josh Rosen is. He's the QB that the Cardinals traded to Miami? Or is the the one in Buffalo? Jets is Darnold, or something like that I think. Rosen is AFC East, at least, right? One of 'em is Josh Allen I think. But there's two of those. I'm so confused.

Bills cut Shady
The old dog's been replaced by that young upstart Frank Gore.
McDermott stopped the bus on 90 and dumped Shady in the median.
in other news...Houston got two inferior pass rushers (Barkevious Mingo (under-achieving 1st rounder) and Jake Martin (over-achieving 6th rounder)) and a third round pick in 2020 draft for Jadeveon Clowney.
Boy, I hope the Texans fire their GM over that blunder.
I don't get the two for one player deals...you don't get to keep the extra guy without cutting someone you already have...so it's more like you give up the player you trade, plus the player you cut, to get the two new players.
So to my way of thinking, this is the deal Houston got:
give up
Jadeveon Clowney
(as yet unknown player to cut...probably an edge/OLB guy, since they're getting two of them in the trade)
get
1st round bust
6th rounder playing like a 4th rounder
3rd round pick next draft
I don't know the money situation, but they surely got some cap room as well.
What they were really looking for was an offensive lineman, but only Miami was willing to do that. Clowney said no, the Dolphins locker room revolted, and Deshaun Watson is probably going to die.
Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills traded to Houston
O'Brien is drunk and/or doesn't know what he's doing. If someone acts quick they might be able to get Hopkins or Watt.
the clowney trade was abysmal but getting a franchise lt for your star qb aint no thing
they gave up more than you want but watson was gonna get killed without something else
It is true that it's basically impossible to lose a trade with the Dolphins, drunk or not.
Has Chris Grier ever won a trade? Thanks for Ajayi and for accepting Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso to help the Birds get Wentz, dummy.

He's been wearing something else since signing with New England. Apparently, the helmets the Patriots make available are just fine.

Frankly, pretty unstable situation. I'm nervous about the well being of anyone around Brown, including himself. His behavior is more than unusual. I can't look at this recent history and think, "farg this guy." It's more a pity feeling I get.

Marcus Peters traded to Baltimore
there go jalen ramsey
Jalen Ramsey to the Rams for two 1sts and a 4th
God dammit
that was way too much to pay for a team who has had ten picks in the last two drafts and almost all of them suck
Perfect team for Ramsey. Best of luck in LA. Say hi to Iron Man for me.
Assuming they don't trade back in, the Jalen Ramsey deal means the Rams will go five years (2017-21) without a first-round pick.
2017: to Tennessee for Jared Goff
2018: to New England for Brandin Cooks
2019: to Atlanta in trade down
2020-21: to Jacksonville for Jalen Ramsey
That's pretty good value for some first round picks there.

Have to land one of those guys
Mariota benched for Ryan Tannehill. IGY you called it, he is not an NFL caliber QB. His numbers are awful this year, 31.5 QBR, 29th in NFL. Heisman strike a pose!
I don't think Mariota is good (his accuracy ebbs and flows), but TEN was an awful spot to land. Five different OCs in five years, dogshtein offensive line, pedestrian receivers, bad head coaches, and a consistent run-first philosophy. It's easy to imagine him being surprisingly competent on another team.
Meanwhile you look at Jameis who has just about everything around him that a QB needs, but still has games where he's turning the ball over 6 times.

It's been bad but this year has been god awful. The calls in the secondary have been particularly bad. The inconsistency is frustrating.
It takes away from the enjoyment. They are over officiating it like crazy. And their fragile egos are hurt by the reviews so they refuse to reverse blatant calls they need to be reversed.
If they want to be flag happy they need to do away with PI as a spot foul. They also need to change the defensive penalties like hands to the face to avoid giving automatic first downs.
It went from a slow steady downhill to a deep dive once they started the defensive holding in the secondary rule. A minor grab shouldn't warrant an automatic 1st down. They also need to ease up on PI's, unless the defender is blatantly interfering minor bumps and arms in places shouldn't be called.
Also the roughing the passer calls are laughable
Yep - agreed.
Any little contact is called which is stupid. And receivers are flopping. Pittsburgh did last night and they called it. And then you're farged because you know they won't over turn it.
The best part is they'll stop calling all that shtein once the playoffs start. Someone in the super bowl will get stabbed without a flag being thrown, and the game will be better for it.

At least one bye. How they handle home/away is presumably up for negotiation; I've read the league would ideally want one game played out-of-market for both teams to try to grow the overall league popularity. Could be a tire fire if they don't handle it right.
The news sites are reporting 2021 at the earliest for the 17 game season, not sure where little guy is getting next season.
The worst part from a fan perspective is the extra playoff game, and of course that's the part the NFL wants to implement immediately.
Quote• If there is an agreement in place before the new league year in March, the new deal would take effect immediately for the 2020 season, bumping up the players' share of revenues immediately under a 16-game format.
this is what im basing it off. maybe the 17 gamer is illogical on this short notice. 7 playoff teams per conference def. isnt.
what would happen is 1 extra bye week and 1 neutral site game. think more european cities, mexico, brazil, perhaps tokyo. theres north american places that could host too, like canton or toronto. maybe they stick a game in vegas because why not.
the biggest thing this does is draw out the season by 2 more weeks so there is less terrible sports downtime. february sucks and now itll be all nfl playoffs.
Never let it be said that the NFL won't farg up a good thing in the search for more money.

the playoff expansion is more or less ok. 7/16 is a better than the nba and nhl and 0 people complain about 8 teams making it in that. plus, i really like the elimination of the 2 seed bye. only 1 seed should get it.
the 2-7 games are mostly going to be snoozers. every once in a while youll get a good one. this year, gb-la wouldve been good. kc-pit would not. but heres the team from 1-11 on saturday and sunday on wc weekend - playoff football. complain away.
So do we get a Thrusday or Monday night wildcard game?
thursday, absolutely not
monday is possible and has been discussed. it would hamstring the divisional schedule a bit because the winner would have to then play sunday. espn would prefer a mnf wc game to what they have now on saturday. my guess would be, if its done, it would be done with the new tv deal. but id bet against it because theres too many variables at play in terms of hurting ratings maximization.

this is neither here nor there but the adding a team is pathetic...especially in a league with only 16 games...
you are now going to have years that have playoff races with 5-8 teams
but quality of play or whats right for the sport has never been an issue with the nfl....its all about the shield....they could put every team in the league in the playoffs and not lose a single viewer...it truly is the trump of sports leagues in many more ways than one
tony romo got 17 (!) mil a year from cbs
just a categorically insane number
the WR from NO had a great take on that, basically...how the dude in the booth get more than the players breaking themselves on the field? NO to CBA
Because he's better at his job than they are.
theres no salary cap for cbs
Exactly. CBS paid a billion to broadcast the games but paying $17M to the best analyst in the business is somehow shocking.
Paying a $50M golden parachute to a CEO of a bankrupt corporation is morally repugnant. This is a simple case of extremely limited supply meeting demand.
Romo is not better at broadcasting (or quarterbacking) than Thomas is at receiving.
I think it's pretty obscene that people think it's right and proper to pay soft dudes in a booth more than the hard dudes on the turf who are the actual poduct.
America: where the salesman, who creates nothing, always makes (much) more than the worker, who is the only one creating actual value.
They're making millions of dollars either way. Worlds smallest violin 🎻
You're comparing apples and oranges.
Romo is the best at his craft (analyzing football games on television). Because he's the best he deserves to be paid the most. It's meritocracy at its essence, Dio.
That's not to say players don't deserve more. They do. And the best at their positions deserve the most as well.
If you're the world's best brick layer or watch maker, well, same applies. If you deem one activity to be less deserving than another, that's your right. But I won't begrudge Romo from getting his even if he is a POS ex-Cowboy.

this is a classic internet strawman argument. should teachers get paid more than pampered athletes? what about hard working coal miners? and dont forget our veterans. they deserve the most money. support the troops, osama.
Bunch of capitalist dupes up in here.
CBS already gives their cut to the NFL with the tv deal. If they want to spend that much money on Romo, then I guess he gets more guess viewers than, oh let's say Matt Millen.
announcers account 0% for ratings. its all about matchup, game quality and external factors that keep people in the house (like cold weather). the game gets the exact same number if its nantz/romo or nantz/hentz.
romo got 17 bones because of a combination cbs' ego, peyton mannings cold feet and cbs' desire to remain in the good graces of the nfl. having a top tier announcer team goes a long way to keeping the league happy and getting big games assigned. espn will not be getting in the super bowl rotation with tess/booger. this is why they wanted romo and still want manning.

Don't expect the good game.
The games aren't allowed to compete with Madden, so don't expect a similarly realistic NFL simulation.
NFL 2k5 was the best football video game I ever played.
Please be excited for the Los Angeles Chargervikings. https://twitter.com/karenehowell/status/1236803740281245696
The Rams want to speak to a manager...NOW
That might be the worst logo in North American professional sports, and I am including the XFL and MLS.
That's not even a passable esports logo.
17 game schedule and expanded playoffs cba approved :boo

lol...this is how the pros do it: Ravens getting Calais Campbell from Jacksonville for the same 5th round pick they got in return last year from Minnesota for a fargin' pre-season punter who is not even in the NFL anymore.
What's more, they add Campbell immediately after applying the non-exclusive tag to Judon, giving them way more security at the position and greatly improving their leverage with Judon. Any team that wanted Judon before today now has less reason to offer a poison-pill contract because the Ravens have less need to match it. Whatever happens, whoever he plays for, the move means less money for him.
edit: this post makes it sound like I'm happy Judon had a bad day. I'm not; have nothing against him, just pointing out how well the Ravens FO played this situation
Wow. Last 2017 AFCCG Jaguar, please turn out the lights.

Titans just gave Tannyhill 4 years at nearly $30m/yr. Dak just became his #1 fan.

I'm normally with you on the Ravens but he's a fossil
Tannehill got $62,000,000 guaranteed. He's the NFL poster child for mediocrity. Incredible.

He was actually really good last year, and even if he is mediocre going forward, that's better than what Titans fans have been used to since Steve McNair was still alive and banging a crazy lady. 10% of your cap under a freshly minted CBA for what's likely to be a couple years of basic QB competence is not a bad deal.
he was good for a stretch in like november against the jaguars and colts...when he played real teams in the playoffs he was a catastrophe
its a mediocre move for a mediocre franchise
Exactly. It's like Tannehill in Miami was completely forgotten because he had a couple of months of slightly better play in TN.
It's crazy money but more power to him for cashing in.

Yeah, that's where the youths are. Good job, NFL.
I didn't even know that was a channel anymore. Will someone get slimed when they score a TD?
What concerns me is that I know exactly what you meant when you mentioned "slimed".
Drake & Josh bitches.
