Bengals vs Rams
Rams open -3.5 with a total of 51
I have to root for NFC. Tribalism.
Early thoughts
The Bengals OL is not very good and the Rams DL is
Burrow may take a beating
Second time ever two number one overall pick QBs will face off
Peyton vs Cam was the other
I don't think I've wanted a non-Eagles team to win as much as I do the Bengals in this game.
can't imagine a less interesting sporting event other than Phil's Tampa World Series

This a lot.
Kroenke is a despicable POS and the thought of the Bengals beating him in the football equivalent of Mar-a-Lago gives me the good feels.

how does anyone feel anything toward the rams...they are a nothing franchise with no fan base. boooooooooooooring. the bengals are from a cow town full of mitch mcconnell stans.
its a game with negative juice
I'm just concerned about the ratings

if anything I feel bad for the rams because of their stadium takeovers....it's pathetic
there was a surprisingly small number of SF jerseys in the stands last night.
also Tim krumrie injury in the last CIN SB is literally my first nfl football memory ever. also the first time I remember being with a room full of drunk adults.

id expect up from 2020 but down from 19/18. no superstars, one small market, one big market where no one cares about the team or that theyre hosting. tough combo for a big number. a tight close game can help a lot but when projecting you dont account for that.

i do not feel bad for the players who willingly signed up to play for a team with zero fans...theyre all getting bank and are hot shtein in a great party town. theyre ok. theyll survive/dont care.

Him, Napoleon McCallum and Joe Theisman are on the mount rushmore of gruesome football injuries
yeah I actually love seeing that stadium taken over. The NFL knows that its a shtein sports town but yet here we are. farg em
It can't be worse than the last Super Bowl the Rams were in.
I'm actively rooting against their ownership, Aaron Donald, and their zesty uniforms. I'm actively rooting for the Bengals to break a streak because farg it, the Eagles won one and I don't care anymore.

I might have missed something but why the Aaron Donald hate?
He gets away with an unreasonable amount of dirty shtein.

lol yeah I'm looking at pictures now and I may have been watching a rerun or something.
why is the football world acting like the bengals are some kind of dynasty all of a sudden. yeah burrow has been great lately and they beat some good teams in playoffs but Jesus Christ they went 10-7. apparently burrow is going to have a better career than Brady now.
Let's go Bengals
Hoping for an exciting game. First time in ten years I'm watching the game at home and not at a party or in Vegas.
Welcome to middle age!
Haha yep. And I'm excited to be here. I do wish I was in Vegas though.
I took rams to score 2 or more special teams or defensive touchdowns....it will pay 9K if it hits
took bengals and the points as well
The thing with Halle Berry a second ago was surreal and not in a good way either.
My god.
halle though
literally never heard of the natty anthem singer
Me either
I'm on Cincy plus the points and have them and the over in a teaser. Plus about 30 props.
Lost tails on the coin toss
Loved Cincy going for it but damn Joe - Higgins was open

Already the best halftime show ever.
That was pretty damn good.
I'd much rather another hour of that halftime show than this game.

Already the best halftime show ever.
It was built in best ever cause it trolled Iowa and Nebraska but it was legit amazing....felt like a concert not a halftime show and Mary the queen
They killed Burrow
Yikes
my borderline racist dad and his definitively racist cousin are in a text chain with me, against my will, and they both hated it
so mission accomplished
the nfl still has a referee problem
i won't remember much about this game. guess matt stafford is a champ now
Yeah the flags didn't come out til the final drive. Stupid
Also...Zac Taylor...dude
2nd and 1 shot not even close
3rd and 1 to farging Perine and not Mixon
4th and 1 a drop back
Idiot
Rams owner has the excitement level of a farging corpse
Are they really that low on people that Tirico has to fly back from Beijing to do this then fly right back? Guys good at his job but kinda weird.
Didn't see who got sb mvp but it should have been Dre

Weird that they even sent him to China when the actual announcing crews are in Connecticut.
Hes literally calling womens bobsledding in the middle of confetti on Sofi field, so weird.
Between the side, teaser and props netted $497. Could've been better but not bad.
Goodbye football for six months
More NFL awfulness
They told Eminem not to kneel.
He did it anyways. Bravo
Where do these suits come from? Who would ever think you can tell Eminem not to do something?
Eat shtein White America: the only one who took a knee was the only white performer featured. Respect to him.
Some years ago the BBC had Rage do a live radio thing and asked them not to sing the original lyrics for Killing In the Name. Lol @ telling Zach de later Rocha not to do something.
The money people can't see anything but money.
On another line: will the Rams give DeSean a ring do you think? He was with them thru the first seven games, sulked his way of the team when they were 6-1.

Exact response repeated 10x "farg you I won't do what you tell me"
The reaction to the halftime show was as sad and predictable as you'd expect from a racist empire crumbling into irrelevancy.
"Zack de later..." lol...f'n autocorrect
the eminem being told not to kneel thing is totally unverified...but it got around twitter and sounded right so everyone believed it. im not sure where the initial "report" originated from but it was never reputable or legit sourced. the league said they knew he was gonna do it. but that was after every idiot on twitter took at as fact so here we are

a lot of this is performative. the grift of maga is to just hate whatever other is, and rap at the SB halftime is other so they gotta hate it. the issue is the legions of mongoloids who jump at the chance to hate on black people for no other reason than to hate on black people
Yeah I was reading some of the MAGAworld's responses to the show.
Charlie Kirk's was what you'd expect from a little shtein like him - what's funny is he's one who talked about boycotting the NFL. So he obviously was watching. Just like all the other mouthbreathing shteinbags who said they'd never watch again.
in the least shocking news ever, my old man posted on his fb that it was the worst super bowl halftime show ever. :-D
I don't have any conservatives in in my life anymore so don't see the totally expected outrage, but I thought Eminem kneeled as a salute to Tupac while Dre did that little piano tune of I ain't mad at cha. Not that it matters but I don't think it was a political stance lol.
Even if that was the intention -- the MAGA idiots see what they wanna see.
And obviously kneeling at any point in a sporting event will be looked at as some political stance. Even if a dude gets whacked in the nuts and kneels in pain those nutless freaks would think its some political point.
Political or not, that halftime show was amazing. I'm glad I recorded that worthless pos game now just for the show.
Not surprising but in MAGAland down here, whiteys were not fans. I went on and on about Snoop and Dre and the startled looks I got were something else.
Talking about the game with a customer this afternoon
So what did ya think about that halftime show?
I loved it. Grew up listening to it all.
....silence...
Oh so you actually understood what they were saying.
I had lunch with my Buddy and we were both laughing about the reactions his "friends" had to the show on FB.

Doubt he listens to that either. He's a camo wearing white dude. I'd bet that Brooks and Dunn are more his speed.
the way they count viewership has changed fairly significantly over the past few years....and the way people consume media has always changed a lot. so you cant apple to apple 2017 to 2019 to 2021 but
2017 - 113 mil
2020 - 92
2021 - 110 mil (98 on tv the old fashioned way) + another 2 in spanish but they dont directly count because the commercials were different not that that matters to anyone
the short version is a lot of people watched, the nfl is thrilled and rich people are getting richer
Top Ten Markets
1. Cincy
2. Detroit
3. Pittsburgh
4. Columbus
5. Kansas City
6. Milwaukee
7. Cleveland
8. Boston
9. Philadelphia
10. Jacksonville
wish i couldve bet on not seeing LA on this list, it was the lock of locks
No LA huh. Lol.
I know the narrative is supposed to be "LA fans suck" but let's be real, the team has been there five years and most of the city consists of people from somewhere else.
Does that list not also skew away from huge markets because it's a share? I mean, of course people in Columbus are watching...Miami and NYC and Houston and Chicago are not on this list either...biggest towns on this list are the smallest towns on the biggest towns list

youre sort of onto something here
NYC is rarely a top market for anything because of exactly that...top markets for communal events like sports and news always skew older, rural and northern well because thats who is more likely to be watching tv. 6pm on a feb sunday in miami is going out weather, in milwaukee it is not.
however, if the dolphins or giants were in the super bowl, youd see their home markets on this list. LA is a super transient market...the rams moved there 2 seconds ago...they are the 4th most popular team in the market...and the game started at 3pm on a beautiful day. it should not be a shock.

Also the Super Bowl comes on in the mid-afternoon on the West Coast. It's not prime time viewing.
I'm gonna guess a 37 share in LA is worth a huge multiple of a 46 in Cincy. Probably a younger and more diverse demo too.
The way more embarrassing split was in the stadium stands.
New York, L.A., Chicago, and Houston are all missing from that list.
Shares or not, that's not ideal for the NFL.
As for the higher numbers overall, I think it's just a collective relief of no Brady, no Patriots and something different to cheer for for a change, plus most of the playoff games were crazy exciting, and this game promised to be at least close since both teams weren't dynasties.
Whatever. The game was ok and the halftime show was GOATish. Good enough for me.
i know youre all novices but
rating = % of overall population people watching, share = % of people watching who are actually watching tv
-yes the LA market is 10000x bigger than cinci so they had *more people* watching but as a % of the market it was relatively low
-again the bigger the market, the more diversified interests and the less likely you are to see them on the list.
-the number was higher mainly because everything was down in the covid year and this year has been a bounceback for the nfl and most sports...the recent string of great games has helped too, cant beat the pr of people feeling like theyre missing out if they dont watch
