it's amazing how few talking heads expected the Phils to be back here. At the beginning of the year all we heard was Mets, Cubs, Dodgers, even in this series nearly everyone had the Dodgers.

Now that they've stomped the piss out of the Dodgers and are back in the Fall Classic for the second year running to defend their crown, maybe some of these iceholes will wake up and realize this team is for real.

it kind of should be though.  i'm excited as hell but not nearly as much as i was last year when the phils won the nl.  it was the first time in 15 years any of us had seen them in the ws and we're so used to watching them fail that just getting there was enough to be excited about.  the players had never been there either so they should have been excited about just getting there.  and then winning it was farging insane. 

so this year the team is sitting exactly where they planned on being since spring training opened.  still good to celebrate it but no need to go over the top.  there's still work left for them to do. 

still, 2 ws appearances in a row is insanely good.  win or lose, this team is for real and there's no reason to think they won't remain in serious contention for the next 3-5 years.

yeah, except that hamels looked like ish twice.  blanton was ok.  happ shtein himself so many times he needs to bleach the skin around his mud nickle to make it white again.
