moyer pitched a beautifully ugly game.  typical effective junk.  he was dealing tonight.  rollins is struggling something fierce. 

things i've learned from vin scully tonight:

- jamie moyer's college coach at st joe's was his science professor.
- moyer is married to digger phelps' daughter. 
- ibanez came to the us as a fetus and was born in manhattan.
- rollins and werth both own a hyperbalic chamber.
- werth comes from a very athletic family.  his mom was a 100m olympic runner, his dad played football at illinois   
  and his step dad and uncle were both major leaguers.
- howard played the trombone in his hs band and his grandfather played against willie mays.
- bruntlett got 1460 on his sat and recieved his bachelors in economics in 3 1/2 yrs from stanford.

i didn't know it.  of course, i'm sure most of that info has been peppered in and out of various phils games over the years, most of which i don't get to see. 

the point i was kind of getting at is that since scully doesn't have to carry on a conversation with or give up air time to another broadcaster, it gives him plenty of space to fill with all the important information that's been missing from my life.

very rarely do i ever get the phils broadcasts though.  usually only if i'm back in the area, but even then i'll try and go to a game instead which means i don't hear any commentary. 

i'd have preferred to see stairs ph first.  then either the dodgers have to pitch to him or they put him on intentionally and load the bases with 1 out.
