Yeah, he was getting the ball up in the zone. Not sure if that was lack of command (probably) or because the home plate umpire has a high strike zone (he does - pitchers are getting stike calls at the letters but not at the knees). I think his velocity wasn't quite there, either - probably mid-80s rather than high 80s-low 90s.

he was awful in spring training so why not

but really so long as their within a few games of .500 by the end of the month who cares. the starting pitching has been brutal. it should get better. calm down, theyre not going 162-0 you spoiled bostonian.
